Developing a Pop-Up Book to Enhance Indonesian Narrative Text Comprehension for Fourth-Grade Elementary School Students
This study presents a comprehensive development of an interactive Pop-Up Book designed as an educational tool for Indonesian narrative texts, specifically tailored for fourth-grade students at the Islamic Elementary School of Bahrul Ihsan in Bandung City. Employing a rigorous Research and Development (R&D) methodology, the study utilized the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) to ensure a systematic and empirical approach. Data was gathered through a variety of methods, including interviews with classroom teachers, validation questionnaires from media and material experts, and direct feedback from both the fourth-grade teacher and students following the media's implementation. The results indicate that the learning medium possesses high validity and practicality. Validation from experts was highly positive, with media experts assigning a remarkable rating of 99% and material experts rating it at 93%, both categorized as "Very Feasible." Similarly, evaluations from the implementing teacher and students were highly encouraging, with scores of 81% and 93% respectively, also classifying the medium as "Very Feasible." Therefore, this study demonstrates that the Pop-Up Book is an effective and engaging tool for enhancing student interest and promoting active learning. It successfully addresses the limitations of traditional, monotonous textbooks and aligns seamlessly with the pedagogical characteristics of Phase B students within the Merdeka Curriculum. This research makes a significant, evidence-based contribution to the advancement of innovative educational media for Indonesian language instruction
Membangun Moderasi Beragama Sejak Dini: Studi Penanaman Nilai-Nilai Moderasi beragama pada Lembaga PAUD Jawa Tengah
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membedah secara mendalam konsep moderasi beragama dan implementasinya dalam konteks pendidikan anak usia dini (PAUD) di Jawa Tengah. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif, pengumpulan data melalui wawancara dengan detail, pengamatan, dan dokumentasi pada beberapa lembaga PAUD yang memiliki program berbasis nilai keagamaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsep moderasi beragama dalam konteks pendidikan anak usia dini melputi toleransi, anti kekerasan, gotong-royong, menghargai ciptaan Tuhan, dan keadilan. Konsep moderasi beragama diterapkan dengan cara yaitu storytelling, berdoa bersama, berbagi dengan sesama, dan bermain peran. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pelatihan guru PAUD dalam pengembangan pendidikan karakter berbasis nilai keagamaan yang ramah anak dan mengedepankan semangat moderasi
Assessing the effectiveness of information literacy integration in secondary school subjects: Perspectives from librarians
Purpose. This study examines the role of school librarians in promoting information literacy in secondary schools within a metropolitan city. It highlights the importance of information literacy, which involves the ability to access, evaluate, and use information effectively.
Methodology. The research, using qualitative interviews with librarians from six selected local government areas, investigates how librarians support teachers and enhance educational outcomes. Key research areas include methods used by librarians to determine teachers' information needs, the extent of consultation with teachers on new acquisitions, how librarians inform teachers about available resources, and the adequacy and usage frequency of library resources.
Results and discussion. The findings reveal varying levels of librarian engagement, with some actively collaborating with teachers and others taking a more passive approach. Challenges identified include time constraints and resource inadequacies.
Conclusions. The study emphasizes the need for better communication and resource management to support information literacy. Despite recognizing its importance, gaps exist in understanding effective librarian practices for empowering teachers and students. Recommendations include fostering librarian-teacher collaboration, updating resource collections, and increasing awareness of available resources to enhance their use in education
Gender variance in the Deployment of ICTs by library and Information Science students in Universities in Southern Nigeria
Purpose. The Research examined the gender variance in the deployment of ICTs by library and information science students in the library schools in southern Nigeria. The research addressed four research queries and formulated hypotheses.
Methodology. The research design deployed in the research was descriptive. A structured questionnaire was deployed as a data collection tool. The research population included 6,247 LIS students from 12 library schools in southern Nigeria. The sample consisted of 624 respondents selected using standard random sampling methods. The data collected were analysed using mean, standard deviation, percentage and product-person-moment correlation coefficient (PPMC).
Results and Discussion. The research showed that ICT tools are easily accessible for university students. Accessibility was found to have a momentous impact on the deployment of ICT among LIS students in southern Nigerian universities.
Conclusion. The study concludes that while both male and female LIS students in Southern Nigerian universities actively use ICT tools with equal frequency, their limited proficiency and tendency to prioritise non-academic use highlight the need for targeted educational initiatives to enhance productive and skilful ICT deployment. Based on the research results, it was recommended that ICT training courses and workshops be provided for LIS students to improve their expertise in using these tools
Internalizing the Value of Respecting Differences through Role Playing: Classroom Action Research on Islamic Education Learning in Elementary Schools
Life in a pluralistic society requires the formation of noble morals from an early age, especially an attitude of mutual respect for differences. However, moral learning in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) subjects in elementary schools often experiences obstacles because student learning outcomes, especially in the realm of social attitudes, are still low and have not reached the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM). This study aims to analyze the application of the Role Playing Learning Model in improving the moral learning outcomes of students in grade Va of SDN 1 Kalipucangkulon Welahan Jepara on the material of mutual respect for differences in the 2024/2025 school year. The research uses a classroom action research (PTK) approach with a spiral design consisting of three stages: pre-cycle, cycle I, and cycle II. The subjects of the study were 25 students of class Va. Data were collected through behavioral observation, attitude assessment documentation, and field notes, then analyzed descriptively, qualitatively, and quantitatively. The results showed an increase in moral learning completeness from 58% in the pre-cycle to 76% in the first cycle, and reached 88% in the second cycle. The application of Role Playing has been shown to be effective in helping students understand moral values contextually through simulation of real social experiences, thus facilitating the internalization and application of an attitude of respect for differences in daily life. These findings make an original contribution to the development of social-emotional experience-based PAI learning strategies, while offering innovative alternatives for teachers in optimizing moral learning in elementary school
Implementation of Marketing Management Education in Developing the Image of Madrasahs
This study aims to describe the implementation of educational marketing management in developing the image of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 2 Semarang City. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that: (1) the stages of educational marketing implementation were effective in attracting new students, including high-achieving ones; (2) the success of marketing was closely linked to public recognition of the madrasah’s quality, as reflected in the increasing number of applicants and positive student feedback; and (3) supporting factors included visionary leadership, teacher competence, and the involvement of alumni and school committees, while inhibiting factors consisted of limited digital literacy, ineffective communication, and negative stereotypes about madrasahs. The implications of this study emphasize that well-planned educational marketing management can enhance the competitiveness of public madrasahs and serve as a model for institutional development in the context of contemporary educational challenges
Strategi kesiapsiagaaan menghadapi bencana di Perpustakaan UIN Mahmud Yunus Batusangkar
Purpose. This study aims to determine the disaster preparedness carried out by the UIN Mahmud Yunus Batusangkar Library in disaster prevention. It is hoped that this study will be an important contribution to institutions regarding the need for a standard on disaster preparedness.
Methodology. The methods used in this research use qualitative methods. In data collection researchers use direct observation techniques, semi-structured interviews, and documentation.
Results and discussion. The preventive measures that the library has undertaken by organizing, training, and simulating disasters are usually held by the university every year and are dedicated only to K3 officers. In addition, the library's cooperation with local cooperating with the firefighters. Responsive action makes plans and rescue efforts collections at the UIN Mahmud Yunus Batusangkar Library, training, and disaster simulations are usually held by the university every year to occupational safety and health team. The repairs in 2009 in West Sumatra were devastated by an earthquake and caused the walls of the library to crack and the ceilings of the libraries to fall onto the shelves, as well as causing a lot of dust to burst into the books. To anticipate that, the library did a fumigation.
Conclusions. Overall, the library has planned optimal disaster preparedness, which is sourced from the provision of equipment and work safety training in dealing with disasters. As a recommendation from the author, it is expected to provide disaster response training for library managers so that they can respond quickly when a disaster occurs
The Influence of Sunnah Prayer Spirituality on the Quality of Education
This study focuses on the influence of spirituality on the quality of education at MAN 3 Kediri. The purpose of the study was to test the extent to which spirituality carried out every morning can improve the quality of student learning outcomes. Spirituality activities in the form of dhuha prayer can affect the quality of learning concentration. The quality of education is characterized by the quality of student learning concentration. The approach used is quantitative with a descriptive research type. The data collection instrument is in the form of a Likert-scale questionnaire. The study population consisted of 401 class XI students of MAN 3 Kediri, with a sample of 80 students selected using simple random sampling techniques and the Slovin formula. Data assistance was analyzed using a simple linear regression test with the SPSS 24 application. The results showed that spirituality in the form of the habit of dhuha prayer has a positive influence on the quality of education in MAN 3 Kediri students. The calculated F value is 58.274 with a significance level of 0.000 <0.05, and a simple regression equation is obtained Y = 12.98 + 0.751X. Spirituality sharpened in dhuha prayer contributes 42.8% to the quality of learning in its concentration, which is categorized as a moderate influence. Meanwhile, other factors outside the scope of this study contributed 57.2%. This shows that the spirituality of sunnah prayer in the form of dhuha prayer helps students to be more focused or concentrated in learning, calmer in learning and can understand the lesson bette
ANALISIS BATAS UMUR PERKAWINAN DI INDONESIA DALAM PERSPEKTIF UNDANG-UNDANG NO. 16 TAHUN 2019 DAN Q.S AL-ṬALAQ AYAT 4: PENDEKATAN MAQASID SYARIAH
This study examines the legal marriage age based on Law No. 16 of 2019 and Q.S Al-Ṭalaq [65]: 4 using Jasser Auda’s Maqasid Syariah approach. It analyzes the differences between positive law, which sets the minimum marriage age at 19, and Islamic law, which does not specify an explicit age but emphasizes physical, mental, and emotional maturity. Employing a qualitative method with content analysis, this study explores the marriage age framework in light of Maqasid Syariah, focusing on preserving individual and familial welfare. The findings reveal that Islamic law allows flexibility in marriage age, provided specific criteria, including readiness in knowledge, mental, psychological, reproductive, and material aspects, are fulfilled. Jasser Auda’s holistic approach highlights the importance of considering social, cultural, and long-term impacts, such as preventing stunting, domestic violence, and family dysfunction. This study concludes that while the marriage age set by positive law is binding, the principles of Maqasid Syariah can bridge the gap between perspectives, fostering the establishment of harmonious families aligned with Islamic values. Consequently, this research offers significant contributions to integrating positive legal norms and Islamic principles to ensure comprehensive family and societal protection
ULAMA, OTORITAS HALAL DAN POLITIK PENGETAHUAN: HEGEMONI KEMENAG MELALUI TAFSIR ILMI
Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menganalisis hegemoni pemerintah dalam menciptakan politik pengetahuan tentang kehalalan suatu produk dan terbentuknya regulasi halal di Indonesia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan basis data kepustakaan (library research). Teori relasi kuasa Michel Foucault penulis gunakan sebagai pisau analisis, dimana hubungan antara kekuasaan (power) dan pengetahuan (knowladge) yang saling bergerak bersama akan membentuk wajah suatu peradaban (civilization). Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemerintah melakukan kompromi dengan ulama untuk memproduksi pengetahuan yang bertujuan untuk mensukseskan Rencana Pembangunan Jangka Menengah Nasional (RPJMN) 2010-2014 dalam program sertifikasi halal. Keterlibatan ulama yang berasal dari unsur Kementerian Agama, akademisi perguruan tinggi Islam serta ulama dari Organisasi Masyarakat (Ormas) yang menyusun tafsir bernama“Tafsir Ilmi Makanan dan Minuman Perspektif Sains” seolah akan menciptakan kebenaran mutlak tentang halal. Selain itu, politik pengetahuan dalam bentuk hegemoni pengetahuan tampak melalui interpretasi atas teks al-Qur’an Surah an-Naml: 60, al-Mursalat: 22, dan Surah al-Maidah; 3 mendorong masyarakat untuk memperhatikan labelisasi halal akan membentuk pengetahuan baru di masyarakat. Ditambah lagi konten penafsiran yang memberikan penjelasan secara eksplisit mengenai penting dan signifikansi sertifikasi halal dalam mengidentifikasi kehalalan produk seolah-olah akan menciptakan kebenaran tunggal bahwa halal haramnya suatu produk adalah melalui keberadaan labelisasi halal yang saat ini masif diselenggarakan oleh Kementerian Agama melalui Badan Penjaminan Produk Halal (BPJPH)
