This study aims to analyze the balance between the application of sharia principles and the performance of sharia mutual funds in Indonesia from the perspective of sharia economic law. In the context of the Islamic capital market, Islamic mutual funds are not only required to achieve competitive financial performance, but must also uphold sharia principles such as the halalness of the portfolio, the involvement of the Sharia Supervisory Board, and the fulfillment of the principles of fairness and transparency. This study uses a qualitative approach with a normative-empirical method. Data was obtained through the study of documents, regulations, and interviews with capital market practitioners and relevant authorities. The results of the study show that although most sharia mutual funds have followed the formal sharia provisions set by DSN-MUI and OJK, there are dynamics in management practices that show a tension between profitability orientation and commitment to sharia principles.

Murabaha financing is one of the main instruments in Islamic banking in Indonesia, which has made a significant contribution to supporting the economic activities of the people. However, in practice, various problems are often encountered, particularly related to information transparency, legal certainty, and fairness for consumers. This study aims to analyze juridically how regulations in Indonesia govern and protect consumer rights in murabaha financing. The research method used is normative legal research with a legislative and conceptual approach, supported by secondary data in the form of laws, DSN-MUI fatwas, and academic literature. The results show that regulations in Indonesia have provided a basis for consumer protection, but there are still weaknesses in their implementation, particularly in the use of standard contracts and clauses that have the potential to harm consumers. This study concludes that there is a need to reformulate regulations to be more adaptive to consumer interests and in line with the principles of justice and maqashid al-shariah. Thus, this study provides theoretical and practical contributions to strengthening consumer protection in Islamic banking

DEVELOPMENT OF A NITROCELLULOSE MEMBRANE-BASED TEST STRIP FOR DETECTING MERCURY (II)

Mercury (Hg), a hazardous heavy metal, has become a significant environmental and public health concern. Practical tools for detecting mercury in water and cosmetic samples remain limited. This study aimed to develop a nitrocellulose membrane–based test strip capable of detecting mercury through its reaction with diphenylcarbazide. The development process involved the formation of a purple-colored complex resulting from the interaction between mercury ions and diphenylcarbazide, which served as the visual indicator of mercury presence. The selectivity of the test strip was evaluated against non-mercury ions, and its accuracy (%) was compared to the atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) method. The results revealed that the nitrocellulose membrane–based test strip was selective toward mercury ions, exhibited a clear color response with increasing mercury concentrations, and demonstrated a relatively high accuracy of 83.33%. These findings suggest that the developed test strip has strong potential as a semi-quantitative and portable tool for mercury detection

The influence of fanaticism and financial literacy on consumptive behavior with self-control as a moderating variable: a study on K-pop fans in Salatiga

This study investigates the influence of fanaticism and financial literacy on consumptive behavior among K-pop fans in Salatiga, with self-control as a moderating variable. The research was motivated by the growing phenomenon of excessive consumption driven by fandom culture, particularly among youth influenced by K-pop idols. The purpose of the study is to analyze how emotional attachment (fanaticism) and financial awareness (financial literacy) shape individual spending patterns, and to determine whether self-control can mitigate impulsive consumption tendencies. A quantitative approach was applied, involving 100 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed with SPSS version 25 through classical assumption tests, t-tests, and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The findings reveal that fanaticism significantly and positively affects consumptive behavior, while financial literacy has a significant negative effect. Furthermore, self-control moderates the relationship between fanaticism and consumptive behavior, indicating that higher self-control can reduce the influence of fanaticism on impulsive spending. However, self-control does not moderate the effect of financial literacy, suggesting that financially literate individuals already exercise sufficient self-regulation in managing expenses. These results highlight the complex interaction between emotional and cognitive factors in shaping consumer behavior. The study contributes to Islamic behavioral economics by emphasizing the importance of moderation and self-control as ethical principles guiding financial responsibility. It also provides practical implications for educators and policymakers in promoting financial literacy and emotional awareness among young consumers.
