    Communication styles and organizational da’wah practices of the Jama’ah Tabligh in mitigating hate speech

    This study examines the communication style of the Jama’ah Tabligh organization in mitigating hate speech within Aceh Besar, Indonesia. The research focuses on their strategies for delivering religious messages, the challenges encountered in implementing their communication approaches, and the broader implications of these practices in reducing hate-motivated expressions in the community. Employing a qualitative method, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis conducted from January to April 2025, involving Jama’ah Tabligh members, community leaders, and local residents who regularly interact with their activities. The findings reveal that Jama’ah Tabligh adopts a da’wah bil hikmah communication style characterized by persuasive, non-confrontational, and example-driven approaches. Messages are conveyed through interpersonal communication rooted in cultural sensitivity, the use of local language, and adherence to Acehnese customs. Core activities such as khuruj (missionary travel), jaulah (house visits), and ta’lim (study gatherings) function not only as religious practices but also as mechanisms for shaping positive community perceptions and raising awareness about the dangers of hate speech. Key challenges include persistent stigma toward Jama’ah Tabligh, limited technological engagement, the prevalence of online hate narratives, and differing religious traditions among local dayah communities. The study recommends strengthened collaboration among religious organizations, local authorities, and customary leaders to formulate more effective communication strategies for countering hate speech in culturally grounded ways. ***** Penelitian ini mengkaji gaya komunikasi organisasi Jama’ah Tabligh dalam merespons dan mereduksi perilaku hate speech di Aceh Besar, Indonesia. Fokus kajian diarahkan pada strategi penyampaian pesan dakwah, dinamika penerapan gaya komunikasi dalam interaksi sosial, serta efektivitas pendekatan yang digunakan dalam menurunkan potensi ujaran kebencian di tingkat masyarakat. Menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan studi dokumentasi, penelitian dilakukan sepanjang Januari–April 2025 terhadap anggota Jama’ah Tabligh, tokoh masyarakat, dan warga yang berinteraksi langsung dengan aktivitas dakwah mereka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Jama’ah Tabligh menerapkan gaya komunikasi dakwah bil hikmah yang bersifat persuasif, non-konfrontatif, dan berorientasi pada keteladanan. Pesan disampaikan melalui komunikasi interpersonal yang mengutamakan pendekatan kultural, penggunaan bahasa lokal, serta penghormatan terhadap nilai dan adat Aceh. Aktivitas dakwah seperti khuruj, jaulah, dan ta’lim berperan sebagai medium pembentukan persepsi positif sekaligus sarana penyadaran sosial terhadap bahaya hate speech. Hambatan yang ditemukan meliputi stereotip negatif terhadap Jama’ah Tabligh, keterbatasan teknologi informasi, intensitas ujaran kebencian di media sosial, serta perbedaan tradisi keagamaan dengan sebagian masyarakat dayah. Penelitian merekomendasikan kolaborasi antara organisasi keagamaan, pemerintah daerah, dan tokoh adat dalam membangun strategi komunikasi yang lebih efektif untuk meredam hate speech secara berkelanjutan

    Plants sold in traditional marketplace in West Java highland: an ethnobotanical analysis

    Traditional markets are crucial for sustaining plant diversity, local food systems, and cultural heritage. They also function as learning spaces for the diversity and cultural connections of food plants. This study documents the diversity and utilization of plant species traded in a traditional marketplace in West Java’s highland, Indonesia. Data were collected through stall surveys, observations, and semi-structured interviews with 38 traders. A total of 96 species from 31 families were recorded. Fabaceae and Solanaceae were the most represented families (11 species each). Vegetables were the largest category of use (47%); fruits (53%) and leaves (25%) were the most frequently used parts. Most (83%) of the plants sold were exotic, with only 21% being native species. Eight edible wild plant species, including Centella asiatica and Solanum nigrum, remain an essential part of the traditional diet. Women dominate the vegetable trade (64.51%); most vendors reported having 5–20 years of experience. These findings highlight that traditional markets play a crucial role in preserving and serving as learning spaces for plant diversity, local food systems, and cultural heritage

    Developmental Anatomy of Anther in the Red Dragon Fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus Britton & Rose)

    The developmental anatomy of the anther in Hylocereus polyrhizus (red dragon fruit) was examined to elucidate the sequential processes of microsporogenesis and microgametogenesis that underlie pollen formation. Flower buds were sampled at five developmental stages (1-5) and analyzed histologically using paraffin embedding and safranin staining. Anther length increased progressively by 96% from stages 1 to 4 and plateaued before anthesis, indicating growth cessation before pollen maturation. The anther wall followed a dicotyledonous pattern, comprising the epidermis, endothecium, middle layer, and tapetum. Early stages featured archesporial differentiation into primary parietal and sporogenous cells, followed by the formation of secondary parietal and sporogenous layers. The endothecium developed fibrous thickenings, while the binucleate, secretory tapetum provided nutrients for developing microspores and degenerated at maturity. Microsporogenesis proceeded from microspore mother cells to tetrads and solitary microspores, culminating in tricellular pollen grains at anthesis. These findings demonstrate that anther development in H. polyrhizus conforms to the typical dicotyledonous type, with characteristic features such as a secretory tapetum and fibrous endothecium. The results provide essential anatomical insight to support breeding programs, artificial pollination strategies, and reproductive biology studies of this economically valuable cactus species.   &nbsp

    The Influence of Content Marketing, Online Reviews, and Customer Ratings on Purchase Intention with Customer Trust as a Moderating Factor

    This study investigates the influence of content marketing, online customer reviews, and customer ratings on consumers’ purchase intentions, with customer trust positioned as a moderating variable. The main contribution of this research lies in its integrated analytical framework, which simultaneously examines three key digital marketing cues within a trust-based mechanism. Moreover, this study focuses on Indonesian marketplace users, a context that remains underexplored in the existing literature, as previous studies have predominantly examined these variables separately or in different market settings. Using a quantitative research design, data were collected from 322 active marketplace users in West Java aged 17 years and above. The analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling with SmartPLS 4 to evaluate both direct and indirect relationships among the constructs. The empirical findings indicate that content marketing has a significant positive effect on purchase intention; however, it does not significantly influence customer trust. In contrast, customer ratings and online customer reviews are found to have a strong and significant effect on customer trust, which subsequently enhances purchase intention. Further analysis reveals that customer trust mediates the relationship between customer ratings and purchase intention, indicating a significant indirect effect. Conversely, the indirect effects of content marketing and online customer reviews on purchase intention through customer trust are not supported. These findings suggest that trust functions selectively within digital purchasing mechanisms, rather than uniformly moderating all marketing stimuli. From a theoretical perspective, this study enriches the digital consumer behavior literature by highlighting the differentiated role of trust in shaping online purchase decisions. Practically, the results underscore the importance for marketplace platforms and online sellers to prioritize trust-building strategies, particularly through transparent rating systems and credible customer reviews, in order to effectively enhance consumers’ purchase intentions

    Relationship between Critical Thinking Skills and Creative Thinking Skills with the Biology Learning Outcomes of Grade XI Students at UPT SMAN 1 Wajo

    This study aims to determine the relationship between critical thinking skills and creative thinking skills with the biology learning outcomes of grade XI students at UPT SMAN 1 Wajo.  This study is based on the demands of 21st century learning, which emphasizes the development of higher-order thinking skills, such as critical and creative thinking, in biology lessons. This study used a descriptive-quantitative method. The research population consisted of 11th grade students at UPT SMAN 1 Wajo, and the sample was taken using purposive sampling of 31 students. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between critical thinking skills and creative thinking skills with students' biology learning outcomes, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 and a correlation coefficient value of 0.972, which is classified as a very strong correlation. This study concluded that simultaneously, higher critical thinking skills and creative thinking skills play an important role in improving students' biology learning outcomes

    Design and Implementation of Interactive Digital Media Using the ADDIE Model for Arabic Learning in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah

    Mastery of Arabic vocabulary is the cornerstone of language proficiency in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah; however, students often encounter difficulties due to a lack of engaging learning resources. This study aims to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of interactive digital learning media for enhancing Arabic vocabulary mastery. Using the Research and Development (R&D) method within the ADDIE approach (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation), this research developed an integrated tool that combines interactive PowerPoint, educational videos, and Kahoot-based digital quizzes. The content focused on "school supplies," specifically tailored for second-grade students. The product underwent rigorous validation, achieving "excellent" ratings from subject-matter experts (94.72%), media experts (93.04%), and practitioner teachers (94.30%). Effectiveness trials involved a small group (10 students) and a large group (30 students) using a pretest-posttest design. The results demonstrated a substantial improvement in student performance. The average score in the small group rose from 66.5 to 89.0, while the large group improved from 63.7 to 91.0. Statistical analysis using a paired-samples t-test confirmed significant differences (p < 0.05). Furthermore, N-Gain scores of 61.25% and 69.80% indicate that the improvement was moderately effective. These findings conclude that the developed interactive digital media is valid, practical, and effective, offering a viable solution for optimizing Arabic language instruction in elementary education settings

    Impact of educators' perceptions on the guidance and counselling programme: A case of Hwange urban secondary school

    Purpose – This study examines the impact of educators’ perceptions on the effectiveness of the Guidance and Counselling (G&C) programme in Hwange Urban secondary schools. The objectives were to explore teachers’ attitudes toward G&C, determine how their perceptions influence programme implementation, and identify factors that facilitate or hinder successful delivery. Method – A qualitative research design was adopted, using semi-structured interviews and document analysis to collect in-depth data. The sample consisted of 20 participants, selected purposively: 12 teachers, 4 school counsellors, and 4 school administrators. Result – Findings revealed that while educators generally acknowledge the importance of G&C in promoting learners’ academic, social, and emotional well-being, inconsistent understanding of the programme, limited training, heavy workloads, and inadequate resources significantly impede effective implementation. Positive perceptions were associated with greater commitment, wider integration of G&C activities, and stronger support for learners. Implication – The study highlights the need for targeted professional development, institutional support, and policy reinforcement to enhance educators’ confidence and participation in G&C. Originality/Value – The originality of this article lies in its contextualised exploration of educators’ perceptions within a Zimbabwean urban setting, offering insights that can inform programme strengthening, policy formulation, and future research on school-based counselling services. *** Tujuan – Studi ini mengkaji dampak persepsi pendidik terhadap efektivitas program Bimbingan dan Konseling (B&K) di sekolah menengah perkotaan Hwange. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi sikap guru terhadap B&K, menentukan bagaimana persepsi mereka memengaruhi implementasi program, serta mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang memfasilitasi atau menghambat pelaksanaan program yang sukses. Metode – Desain penelitian kualitatif digunakan, dengan wawancara semi-terstruktur dan analisis dokumen untuk mengumpulkan data mendalam. Sampel terdiri dari 20 peserta yang dipilih secara purposif: 12 guru, 4 konselor sekolah, dan 4 administrator sekolah. Hasil – Temuan menunjukkan bahwa meskipun pendidik umumnya mengakui pentingnya G&C dalam mempromosikan kesejahteraan akademik, sosial, dan emosional siswa, pemahaman yang tidak konsisten tentang program, pelatihan yang terbatas, beban kerja yang berat, dan sumber daya yang tidak memadai secara signifikan menghambat implementasi yang efektif. Persepsi positif terkait dengan komitmen yang lebih besar, integrasi yang lebih luas dari aktivitas G&C, dan dukungan yang lebih kuat bagi siswa. Implikasi – Studi ini menyoroti kebutuhan akan pengembangan profesional yang ditargetkan, dukungan institusional, dan penguatan kebijakan untuk meningkatkan kepercayaan diri dan partisipasi pendidik dalam G&C. Orisinalitas/Nilai – Keaslian artikel ini terletak pada eksplorasi kontekstual persepsi pendidik dalam lingkungan perkotaan Zimbabwe, yang menawarkan wawasan untuk memperkuat program, merumuskan kebijakan, dan penelitian masa depan tentang layanan konseling berbasis sekolah

    Permainan balok dapat digunakan untuk anak usia 4-5 tahun mengeksplorasi dan mengembangkan kemampuan kognitif dalam konsep matematika dan geometri dalam pemecahan masalah. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di PAUD Bina Bangsa Islamic School Serang Banten dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian ini tertuju pada anak usia 4-5 tahun Tk A di PAUD Bina Bangsa Islamic School Serang Banten. Permainan balok sangat membantu menstimulasi perkembangan kognitif anak usia 4-5 tahun di PAUD Bina Bangsa Islamic School Serang Banten, anak 4-5 tahun dapat mengenal bentuk geometri, anak 4-5 tahun juga dapat mengingat, memahami, menerapkan, mengenalisis, mengevaluasi dan mencipta atau mengembangkan kegiatan bermain balok tersebut, anak 4-5 tahun dapat melakukan pemecahan masalah, berpikir kritis, dan melakukan inovasi baru pada saat bermain dengan media balok, dengan kegiatan bermain balok perkembangan kognitif anak 4-5 tahun dapat terstimulasi dengan baik dengan merancang bangunan balok sesuai dengan hasil kreativitasnya sendiri, selain itu, setiap tema yang guru berikan pada setiap pembelajaran media balok, dapat menambah wawasan baru anak 4-5 tahun di PAUD Bina Bangsa Islamic School Serang Banten

    Tahapan Penggunaan Digital Flashcard untuk Pengenalan Literasi Awal pada Anak Usia Dini

    Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh penggunaan media digital pada pembelajaran di jenjang pendidikan anak usia dini. Tujuannya yaitu untuk mengetahui tahapan dari penggunaan media Digital Flashcarddalam pengenalan literasi pada anak usia dini. Penelitian ini berfokus pada kelompok A dengan usia 4-5 tahun yang terdiri dari 18 siswa di salah satu TK di Kecamatan Purwakarta dan 2 guru kelas pada kelompok A. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data observasi, dan wawancara. Data yang terkumpul akan dianalisis dengan analisis tematik melalui enam tahapan, diantara tahap pengenalan data, tahap perolehan kode awal, tahap pencarian tema, tahap peninjauan tema, tahap penamaan tema, dan tahap penulisan. Hasil dari penelitian ini bahwa penggunaan media digital flashcard ini perlu melalui beberapa tahapan, di antaranya tahap pengenalan, tahap penjelasan, tahap pelaksanaan, tahap mengajukan pertanyaan, dan tahap pemberian reward. Tahapan tersebut dapat membuat pembelajaran lebih terarah, bermakna dan membuat anak lebih tertarik. Artikel ini dapat menjadi panduan bagi guru dalam menggunakan media pembelajaran berbasis digital

    Penerapan Metode Mendongeng Cerita Rakyat untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Kepercayaan Diri Anak Usia 4-5 Tahun

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses penerapan, strategi, metode evaluasi pengajaran kegiatan dongeng cerita rakyat untuk meningkatkan kepercayaan diri anak. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi langsung, wawancara terstruktur dan dokumentasi. Subyek penelitiannya adalah Anak PAUD dan guru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1)proses penerapan  dongeng yaitu guru membacakan dongeng, anak-anak menyimak, lalu dilanjutkan sesi tanya jawab, 2)strategi dongeng yang diterapkan yaitu pemilihan cerita yang dekat dengan kehidupan anak, mengajak anak menebak alur cerita, berbagi pengalaman serupa, serta memanfaatkan media buku cerita untuk meningkatkan kepercayaan diri anak, 3)metode dongeng yaitu ceramah dan tanya jawab, sedangkan evaluasi dilakukan melalui lembar observasi. Berdasarkan hasil observasi terlihat adanya perubahan yang cukup signifikan, indikator pantang menyerah, berani mengemukakan pendapat, dan berpenampilan tenang meningkat menjadi berkembang sesuai harapan, sedangkan indikator berani bertanya serta mengutamakan usaha sendiri mengalami peningkatan lebih tinggi menjadi berkembang sangat bai
