Cultural Meaning and Values of the Beriuk Tinjal Dance at the Rengganis Art Studio
Get PDFThe Beriuk Tinjal dance is a traditional performing art from Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, preserved through the Rengganis Art Studio. This study aims to explore the philosophical meanings and cultural values embedded in the Beriuk Tinjal dance and to assess the strategic role of the art studio in sustaining this heritage amidst globalization. Using a qualitative approach with methods including observation, interviews, and literature review, this research uncovers that the dance embodies the Sasak community's core values, such as unity, harmony, and respect for ancestors. Each dance movement holds symbolic meaning, reflecting the cycles of human life, environmental stewardship, and spiritual devotion. Moreover, the Rengganis Art Studio acts as a guardian of tradition by integrating moral education and cultural identity into its training programs for younger generations. This study highlights the dance's dual role as an aesthetic and educational medium, providing insights into the interplay between art and cultural sustainability. The findings underscore the importance of community-based initiatives in preserving traditional arts while adapting to modern challenges. These results contribute to broader discussions on cultural preservation and the revitalization of intangible heritage in contemporary societ

This determination often involves various parties, such as local government, local communities, and other stakeholders. Through a power analysis approach, this study will explore the dynamics of power that underlie the determination process, including the interaction between the government and local communities, and its implications for the identity and sustainability of local culture. The study uses a qualitative approach with case studies, this study will analyze the dynamics of interactions between various related parties, including local government, local communities, and tourism actors. Observation, interview, and document analysis methods will be used to collect relevant data. This study is expected to provide a better understanding of the complexity of power relations in the context of determining tourism and cultural destinations at the local level. The findings of this study are expected to provide a deeper understanding of how power is reproduced and maintained in the context of determining tourism and cultural destinations, as well as its implications for the development and empowerment of local communities

Anak disabilitas dalam proses pembelajarannya sudah diajarkan untuk merias wajah orang lain hal itu juga dapat dijadikan proses untuk meningkatkan kepercayaan diri mereka salah satunya yaitu agar mereka percaya diri dengan hasil make up yang dia kerjakan. Selain itu juga konsep diri yang dimiliki oleh anak disabilitas sangat baik mereka masih terus semangat dan kemauan mereka untuk belajar merias walaupun mereka berbeda dengan teman lainnya

Get PDFPertunjukan Gandang Lasuang oleh grup Nyiur Melambai dalam upacara pernikahan di Kecamatan Sasak Ranah Pasisia, Kabupaten Pasaman Barat, memiliki bentuk pertunjukan yang unik dan menarik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi bentuk pertunjukan tersebut serta mengungkapkan elemen musiknya dengan fokus pada interaksi antara seniman dan audiens dalam masyarakat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif-analisis, didukung oleh pendekatan musikologis. Teknik pengumpulan data mencakup studi pustaka dan studi lapangan, sedangkan analisis data meliputi pengumpulan, reduksi, penyajian, serta verifikasi data. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan unsur-unsur penunjang pertunjukan yang meliputi pemain, instrumen, lagu, kostum dan rias, tempat, waktu, serta audiens. Pada aspek komposisi musik, ditemukan struktur yang terdiri dari pendahuluan (intro), bagian utama berupa lagu, dan penutup (coda). Studi ini menegaskan bahwa Gandang Lasuang tidak hanya berperan sebagai hiburan, tetapi juga sebagai elemen budaya yang mencerminkan nilai-nilai adat dan identitas masyarakat setempat
Painting Lessons On Ceramic Plates For Grade VIII SLB-E Students At The Provincial Level Of North Sumatra
Get PDFThis research was motivated by class VIII SLB-E students who were less motivated to learn painting because the media used was less varied. Hence, students were less interested in painting. This research aims to assess the painting work of SLB-E students at the North Sumatra Province level based on four aspects: theme, technique, neatness and beauty. The method used is descriptive qualitative research with data collection techniques through demonstrations, practical tests, observation and documentation. The research sample consisted of 18 Deaf Grade VIII students. The target to be achieved in implementing painting learning is to increase motivation, creativity and students' interest in practising. The expected achievements in this research are the ability to express ideas according to the theme, master painting techniques with alternative media such as ceramic plates, and produce neat and beautiful work. The research results showed an average score of 86 (Very Good), with details: theme (82), technique (87), neatness (88), and beauty (85). In conclusion, students can use ceramic plates as media to apply these four aspects in painting
The Pucok Reubong Motif as an Inspiration for Leather Bag Design
Get PDFThe pucok reubong motif has been stylised from the form of young bamboo shoots. These bamboo shoots are transformed into a unique decorative pattern. The artist's interest in exploring the pucok reubong motif stems from its distinct shape, surrounded by triangular leaves with pointed ends resembling swords, and its interlocking patterns. This inspired the artist to incorporate the pucok reubong motif into leather bag designs. The creative process follows the Hendriyana method, which consists of four main stages: (1) pre-design, which involves the development of imagination; (2) design, where alternative designs are visually conceptualized; (3) realization, in which selected sketches are transformed into final works; and (4) presentation, involving exhibitions to establish communication between the artist and art enthusiasts. The concept applied is a symbolic expression, representing modern art that utilizes traditional idioms as its foundation. In the final project titled “Pucok Reubong Motif as an Idea for Leather Bag Creation”, the artist applied the pucok reubong motif as a decorative element on leather bags. This work aims to enhance aesthetic appeal while introducing the pucok reubong motif to a wider audience unfamiliar with it. The bags were created using embossing techniques combined with weaving, resulting in works that are both artistic and meaningful

Get PDFLaksamana Raja Di Laut is a Malay song composed by Datuak Suhaimi (Pak Ngah) in 1993, which was popularized and sung by Iyeth Bustami. This song was rearranged by Ijunk for marimba solo and vibraphone, with Big Band accompaniment format. The accompaniment format for marimba solo with vibraphone is complemented by traditional Malay drums. The musical arrangement of this song into a solo, uses a new musical concept that offers hybrid music (mixed music), through the naming of a new genre by the arranger, namely Progressive Malay, by adapting a free-form approach and variations of the theme. The arrangement of Admiral Raja di Laut uses a tighter notation with thirty-second notes to display the arranger's imagination with vibraphone and marimba about the sea and the prowess of a sailor from the Malay lands

Nagari Pasilihan is one of the Nagari that has natural resources that produce wealth to be able to promote its territory to the rest of the world. This article aims to discuss how natural resources through documentary film production. This documentary film production is based on the theory of film, documentary film, cinematography, and editing. Data collection was carried out using observation, documentation and interview methods. The data collection technique is done by analyzing and presenting it in a documentary film. This article produces a documentary film with a duration of 12 minutes that reveals the essence of natural resources so as to promote Nagari Pasilihan, Solok Regency

Get PDFKeni Gayo is a cultural tool of the Gayo people in the form of artwork made of clay, Keni Gayo was originally used by the Gayo people in marriage ceremonies, as one of the equipment that will be carried by the bride to the groom's place, as an eye sign for the groom's colleagues and relatives. The craftsman elevates the form of Keni Gayo into the creation of interior crafts because this water reservoir as well as traditional cultural tools belonging to the Gayo people has a function and meaning for the Gayo people. The method used in this work is through several flow methods, namely Pre-Design, Design, Embodiment and Presentation. The realization of work using wood media finishing or finishing using a melamine system. The concept in making this work is the concept of symbolic expression is a modern art form by utilizing traditional idioms as a basic element of its composition, the use of idioms contextually has been reduced due to the process of processing artists in interpreting forms symbolically. The presence of the meaning of tradition is no longer as a thematic pouring of ideas but as a textual symbol offered by artists, to provide freedom of interpretation. The embodiment of this final project work the artist made a form of visualization of keni Gayo using wood media with carving techniques. The work is a two-dimensional and three-dimensional work with different shapes and almost the same color. The number of works worked on is in the form of six works, four two-dimensional works and two three-dimensional works
