Localized Insurgencies: A Critical Examination of Bhagwanpur’s Role in the Quit India Movement
From the inception of the Swadeshi movement, the residents of Bhagwanpur have etched their names in history through significant struggles such as extremist armed uprisings, non-cooperation movements, salt satyagraha, and civil disobedience movements. Countless common people from the Medinipur district rallied together in the final phase of India’s liberation struggle. These patriotic revolutionaries, who embody the spirit of nationalism, are a source of pride for our district, yet sadly, they have been largely forgotten over time. This collective amnesia can be attributed to past historians’ oversights, research gaps, and the tendency to overlook regional histories. The narrative of history writing should not only serve a political agenda but also aspire to shape a more humane trajectory by emphasizing the human aspect beyond mere political facts. This principle holds for regional historiography as well. The inhabitants of Bhagwanpur have a rich legacy of participating in the freedom movement. Through their valiant efforts during the ‘Quit India’ movement, the people of this Bhagwanpur sub-division have made significant sacrifices and endured hardships. Unfortunately, this history has often been overlooked or left unrecorded for generations. The article primarily focuses on the involvement, organization, challenges, and outcomes of the residents of Bhagwanpur during the August movement. Additionally, it delves into the resilience of the local population in the face of natural calamities such as floods, and cyclones, and their unwavering commitment to the nation’s independence movement
The Role of Education and Career in Shaping Preferences for Love and Arranged Marriages in Gujarat\u27s Urban Society
This study examines the role of education and career in shaping individual preferences for love and arranged marriages in Gujarat’s urban societies. With rapid urbanization, increased educational attainment, and evolving career aspirations, traditional marriage patterns are undergoing significant shifts in metropolitan cities like Ahmedabad, Surat, and Vadodara. Drawing on interviews and survey data from young adults, this research explores how educational achievements and professional ambitions influence personal autonomy, partner selection, and marital decision-making processes. The findings reveal that higher education and career success often empower individuals to challenge conventional norms, resulting in a growing preference for love marriages. However, the study also highlights how arranged marriages continue to adapt within modern contexts, with families considering factors such as career compatibility and individual agency in the matchmaking process. By analyzing these changes, the research contributes to a deeper understanding of how education and career shape the evolving landscape of marital preferences in Gujarat’s urban areas, while also reflecting broader socio-cultural transformations in contemporary Indian society

Media Education through Community Radio during Covid-19: A Qualitative Study on Tribal Populations
The radio is an effective means of communication. It has shown to be the most successful kind of media for advancing rural development and health, especially when it comes to providing timely information. The research explores how community radio served as an effective tool for delivering essential public health information to marginalized tribal communities, particularly in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and vaccine awareness. The data collection was carried out in Noolpuzha Grama Panchayath in Wayanad District, Kerala. The in-depth interviews with 16 participants who belong to tribal communities highlighted the impact of the radio programs on media education, public health awareness, and behavior changes. Findings indicated that Radio Mattoli significantly contributed to raising awareness about COVID-19 prevention, dispelling myths, and enhancing confidence in vaccines. However, challenges such as limited access to radios, technological barriers, and persistent mistrust of vaccination in some subgroups were noted. The study also highlights the importance of strengthening media literacy to empower listeners in making informed health decisions. In conclusion, community radio proved to be a vital platform for health communication, but its effectiveness could be enhanced by addressing infrastructure limitations and integrating more localized, culturally appropriate content. The research offers valuable insights into the potential of community media to support public health efforts in Indigenous populations

Exploratory Study of the Coach-Player Relationship and its Links with Sports Performance in Congolese Men\u27s Soccer: A Case Study
The subject of this study is the psychosocial coach-player relationship (dyad) in Congolese soccer. The aim is to show how the quest for performance mobilizes different and complementary behaviors in the two players. The aim is to identify the specificity of this functional and reasoned relationship in terms of the link between, on the one hand, action priorities, coaches\u27 attitudes and players\u27 expectations and, on the other, these behaviours and sporting performance. To this end, a qualitative and comprehensive case study was conducted in Brazzaville from May 23 to August 13, 2023. The cases were represented by three soccer teams: Diables-Noirs, AC Léopards and FC Gothia, all affiliated to the Congolese Football Federation. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with coaches (two per team) and players (five per team). Analysis of the verbatims identified three configurations of the coach-player relationship, which appear to be less conducive to optimal sports use in line with them. The quality of this relational process is influenced by a series of individual, group and organizational variables. In sum, the results obtained demonstrate the reliability of the psychosocial approach in understanding the factors around which the coach-player relationship is articulated in team sports in Congo

A Critical Appraisal of Cross-Border Migration into India using the Push-Pull Theory
Cross-border migration is a multifaceted phenomenon influenced by economic, demographic, socio-cultural, political, and miscellaneous factors. The push-pull theory effectively explains this dynamic, highlighting the drivers that compel individuals to leave their home countries—such as poverty, political instability, and environmental crises—and the attractions of destination countries, including economic opportunities, safety, and cultural ties. India, as a prominent South Asian nation, experiences significant migration flows from neighboring countries like Bangladesh, Nepal, and Myanmar due to shared cultural heritage, economic growth, and geographic proximity. India manages migration through a robust legal framework, including the Foreigners Act (1946), Passport (Entry into India) Act (1920), and Citizenship Act (1955), which regulate the entry, stay, and departure of foreigners. Undocumented migrants are classified as illegal and subject to deportation or detention, with the Foreigners Tribunal playing a crucial role in determining citizenship in sensitive regions like Assam. However, India also adopts a humanitarian stance, offering protections to groups facing persecution, such as Tibetan and Tamil refugees, and implementing policies like the Citizenship Amendment Act (2019) to provide a pathway to citizenship for religious minorities from neighboring countries. India’s approach exemplifies the balance between national security and humanitarian obligations, underscoring the importance of regulated migration policies that address both push-pull dynamics and ethical responsibilities in a globalized world
