    A Hospital Management System Suitable for Every Hospital as a Solution to the Problems of the Hospital Industry in Sri Lanka

    This paper is based on the concept of creating a management system for a hospital, related functionalities and other learning of it in order to make the process efficient, fast and safe. This study aids in increasing the productivity of a hospital by decreasing the time wastage which was identified with the manual process. The system is proposed after identifying the problems in patients and the hospital staff to cover areas of human resources, marketing and finance. One of the main goals is to provide a system which can automate a manual process that is used in day-to-day life. The proposed system which is known as “Hospital MS” is a web application which contains the necessary functionalities of the stakeholders of this system. Mainly this system can manage the patient, doctors, recipients, lab assistant and the system administrator to maintain and manage the system. Since we can provide a platform to every person who is interacting with this system, there are lots of advantages for everyone. Another aim of this system is to provide the patient with a way of interacting with the hospital. With this proposed system a particular patient can make the appointments to a doctor, and once the appointment is completed, the patient can keep the interaction with the doctor by sharing information like prescriptions. One of the other concerns that this system is going to look after is the centralized database to manipulate the data in a more reliable and efficient way

    Procedural Effects on Controlling Natural Disasters (Landslides and Flash Floods) Based on Environmental Degradation from Development in Malaysia

    In recent years, Malaysia\u27s growing population and accelerating economic conditions have resulted in the construction of high-rise condominiums and the expansion of settlements and lifelines across hilly areas. Natural disasters are always happening in Malaysia, with landslides and flash floods as the main problems and common natural disasters. This problem occurs annually due to rising numbers of development in Malaysia involving land clearance and rapid construction, especially in hilly areas. Under such circumstances, research was conducted on landslide and flash flood incidences in Malaysia from 2020 until 2022. The assessment in this research was done using the matrix method commonly used in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). The results gained by using those method shows that both landslides and flash flood naturally happen in the last quarter of a year, which are in December and January for both landslides and flash flood disaster. The highest score for landslide incidences was in Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur with 8.4; in contrast, 9.2, the highest average score recorded for flash floods, happened in Selangor, Pahang, Kelantan, Kuala Lumpur, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Perak, and Terengganu. Both of these incidents occurred in December 2021. This situation shows that both natural and man-made affect the occurrence of the tragedy in Malaysia. Heavy rainfall and rapid development lead to this problem. Compliance with general guidelines from contractors, developers and agencies may reduce the number of these disasters in the future. Hence, it will help to prevent soil erosion and slope failure that frequently occurs in Malaysia

    Malware Sandbox Evasion Techniques in Mobile Devices

    The mobile platform is where it\u27s at. There are currently very few professionals who dispute this view. Because of the rapidly increasing number of smartphones and other devices powered by the Android operating system all over the world, there has been a corresponding surge in the number of mobile apps, particularly harmful mobile apps.  This form of malware is very new, but it is rapidly changing, and it brings hazards that have not been seen before. As a part of Check Point’s ongoing efforts against the rising tide of mobile dangers, we, the Malware Research Team, want to learn as much as we can about the constantly shifting Android malware landscape. This requires understanding the internal operation of as many malicious apps as we can, so we can learn as much as we can. Manual malware analysis has always been a difficult operation, taking days or even weeks to complete for each sample. Because of this, the work is impracticable even for a small sample pool because of the amount of time it takes. Following the successful application of this strategy to mobile malware, our response is to automate as much of the analysis process as is practically practicable. Idan Revivo and Ofer Caspi from Check Point’s Malware Research Team were tasked with developing a system that would take an application and produce a report describing exactly what it does when it is run, specifically pointing out anything "fishy." This would enable us to perform an initial analysis with no human intervention, which is exactly what they have done. The popular CuckooDroid sandbox and a few other open-source projects form the basis of this automated, cross-platform emulation and analysis framework, which allows for static and dynamic APK inspection in addition to evading some VM-detection techniques, encryption key extraction, SSL inspection, API call trace, basic behavioral signatures, and more.  It is easy to make changes and add new features to the framework, and it draws heavily on the expertise of the current Cuckoo community

    Numerical Analysis of the Thermophysical Properties of R600a Refrigerant Enhanced with Diamond Nanoparticles in Vapour Compression Refrigerating System

    Addition of nanoparticles to lubricants and refrigerants in vapour compression refrigerating systems has been a subject of consideration for engineers and researchers worldwide due to its   heat transfer enhancement properties coupled with power consumption reduction capacity. Nanolubricants and nanorefrigerants are forms of nanofluids which possess better heat transfer performance than pure lubricants and refrigerants.  For performance analysis to be carried out, basic thermophysical properties of nanolubricant and nanorefrigerant such as density, heat capacity and thermal conductivity must be calculated and analysed. In this paper, a computer application was developed based on several derived numerical equations to calculate the density, heat capacity and thermal conductivity of diamond/mineral oil nanolubricant and diamond/mineral oil/R600a nanorefrigerant. This study showed that the thermal conductivities at various diamond nanoparticle volume fractions are higher than pure lubricant and refrigerant. The densities of the nanolubricant and nanorefrigerant were lower than that of the pure lubricant and refrigerant. However, the heat capacities decreased with increase in nanoparticle volume fractions and these were found to be less than that of pure lubricant and refrigerant. The study therefore established that heat transfer performances increase with thermal conductivity and heat capacity while pumping power increases with enhanced density. Hence, the addition of diamond nanoparticles to mineral oil and R600a refrigerant improves performance of system

    Modal Space Controller for Hydraulically Driven Six Degree of Freedom Parallel Manipulator

    This paper presents the Modal space decoupled control for a hydraulically driven parallel mechanism has been presented. The approach is based on singular values decomposition to the properties of joint-space inverse mass matrix, and mapping of the control and feedback variables from the joint space to the decoupling modal space. The method transformed highly coupled six-input six-output dynamics into six independent single-input single-output (SISO) 1 DOF hydraulically driven mechanical systems. The novelty in this method is that the signals including control errors, control outputs and pressure feedbacks are transformed into decoupled modal space and also the proportional gains and dynamic pressure feedback are tuned in modal space. The results indicate that the conventional controller can only attenuate the resonance peaks of the lower eigenfrequencies of six rigid modes properly, and the peaking points of other relative higher eigenfrequencies are over damped, The further results show that it is very effective to design and tune the system in modal space and that the bandwidth increased substantially except surge (x) and sway (y) motions, each degree of freedom can be almost tuned independently and their bandwidths can be increased near to the undamped eigenfrequencies

    Design of Green Infrastructure: A Case Study of RGUKT Srikakulam

    Rainwater harvesting is a promising solution to ensure a year-round water supply, meet agricultural demands and maintain ecological flows in the water system. It is also a viable option to reclaim declining water bodies and offer a sustainable source of water. In correspondence, the study attempts to explore the feasibility of rainwater harvesting through green infrastructure for urban catchments, with an example of the RGUKT Srikakulam university campus in Etcherla. The study attempts to analyze the campus as a catchment for Rainwater harvesting and design green infrastructure solutions in accordance with the site conditions. The study uses the SCS-CN methodology to compute the runoff of the catchment by developing excel spreadsheets, using the rainfall over a 10-year period. The solutions of green infrastructure explore options such as Bio-swales, rain gardens, infiltration strips, permeable pavements, retention basins, detention basins, etc. The purpose of the study is to analyze the feasibility of achieving zero runoff for the entirety of the RGUKT Srikakulam campus for a maximum of 10-year rainfall. The study also attempts to explain the secondary benefits of green infrastructure development. This study aimed to develop simple models to replicate such work for complex and modified urban and semi-urban settings (catchments). When put into practice, these techniques were developed to ensure easy design, construction, and development of green infrastructure solutions with suitability to suit specific requirements of distinctive urban centers. When developed on a full scale, across the country, Green Infrastructure (GI) may act as a solution to renew the groundwater resources and ensure water supply throughout the year
