    Get PDF
Employees are the backbone of any company. Often employee data such as personal details of employees, salary, leaves, and work allocations are managed using manual methods. These manual methods generate a lot of paperwork and make it complex to effectively manage the tasks. Most of the computerized systems proposed for employee management mainly focuses only on attendance management, leave management and salary management. This paper proposes a web-based Employee Management System solution to address the difficulties faced. The system will address the shortcomings of the existing systems and provide functions to manage employee data effectively. It will use trending technologies such as React JS, Node JS, Express JS, and MongoDB as the database which are faster and more user friendly compared to the technologies proposed in the literature. The system will use the concepts of distributed systems, client server architecture and show features of 3-tier architecture. The paper concludes that the proposed system addresses the shortcomings of the similar systems proposed in the literature but should be further improved by studying the subject area. Further research should be done to provide more features related to managing employee data and to provide a responsive design that can be accessed through mobile devices as well

A hotel\u27s economic feasibility and progress depend on the efficient use of all resources, along with human resources (HR). Absenteeism is a critical issue that almost all employers encounter daily. It imposes considerable financial burdens on organizations and has a negative impact on productivity and performance. The majority of research has revealed that absenteeism is a multifaceted construct impacted by numerous factors, both personal and organizational. Although researchers have attempted to identify the factors that contribute or are associated to absenteeism in order to devise suitable solutions. The research on the relationship between organizational and personal factors and absenteeism appears to be contradictory. A few studies found no correlation between these two variables, whereas some found a weak to moderate correlation between the two variables. Furthermore, there are few research studies on absenteeism in the Sri Lankan hotel industry. As a result, the current study sought to ascertain whether organizational and personal factors influence absenteeism in selected 3-5 star grade tourist hotels in the Galle District. The 14 three to five-star tourist hotels in Galle District were the study\u27s target population. The sample size was determined using a non-probable random sampling method. As a result, a sample of five three to five star tourist hotels in the Galle District was preferred. A questionnaire was used to collect primary data from respondents for the study. The Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) was used for analysis, which allowed the researcher to express the data in the form of tables and figures. Previous research has discovered that there are several factors that can influence employee absenteeism. According to the literature review, factors such as promotion satisfaction, coworker support, pay satisfaction, age, gender, tenure, number of dependents, and marital status can all have an impact on absenteeism

Therefore, the objective of the study is to examine the present IWT systems, its challenges and how it can contribute more than others transportation systems to our national economy. this paper is mainly based on secondary data. The data is collected from journal papers, internet, newspaper, books, and articles. Data is also gathered from different maritime authority’s website. The research findings indicate that the Bangladeshi inland waterways have huge prospects, but lack of knowledge gap of current condition of inland navigability, not conducting hydrographic survey after 1989, lack of poor management, inadequate inland port facilities, low quality vessel and poor inland connectivity are the reasons for all of this problem. Inland waterways transports are environmentally friendly than others transportation systems and many local business person, exporter, importer will be benefited by using IWT. But authority should have to utilize the inland water ways in a right manner. Adequate the depth and air draft should have to be maintained and the inland port facilities improvement and infrastructure development are necessary for IWT
