    Les millipèdes ont une longue histoire évolutive, les plus anciens fossiles présumés de Diplopoda de Blainville in Gervais, 1844 datant du Silurien et le premier fossile défini provenant de dépôts dévoniens. La phylogénie des diplopodes n’est pas encore totalement résolue, en particulier en ce qui concerne les représentants fossiles. En même temps, dès le Paléozoïque, les mille-pattes présentaient une grande variété morphologique et probablement aussi écologique. Nous décrivons ici une nouvelle espèce de mille-pattes carbonifères du Westphalien A des Pays-Bas, Lauravolsella willemeni n. gen., n. sp., un représentant possible d’Archipolypoda (†Archipolypoda Scudder, 1882). L’espèce est basée sur un seul spécimen, préservé avec une partie et une contrepartie, qui montrent toutes deux une préservation tridimensionnelle. Le spécimen a des tergites inhabituellement longs, en position de vie normale couvrant la majeure partie du segment suivant. Ces longs tergites auraient pu être utiles lors de l’enrôlement défensif. Chez les millipèdes existants, l’enroulement est généralement facilité par des zones plus souples entre les sternites, permettant un certain degré de compression ventrale. Dans le nouveau fossile, les sternites sclérosés occupent toute la longueur de la face ventrale du segment, ne permettant aucun type de compression. Le nouveau fossile démontre donc une autre solution pour les défis mécaniques lors de l’enroulement et augmente la diversité morphologique des millipèdes du Carbonifère.Millipedes have a long evolutionary history, with the oldest presumed fossils of Diplopoda de Blainville in Gervais, 1844 being from the Silurian and the first definite fossil record originating from Devonian deposits. The phylogeny of Diplopoda is not fully resolved yet, especially not concerning fossil representatives. At the same time, already in the Palaeozoic millipedes showed quite a morphological and presumably also ecological variety. We describe here a new species of a Carboniferous millipede from the Westphalian A of the Netherlands, Lauravolsella willemeni n. gen., n. sp., a possible representative of Archipolypoda (†Archipolypoda Scudder, 1882). The species is based on a single specimen, preserved with part and counterpart, which both show a three-dimensional preservation. The specimen has unusually long tergites, in normal life position covering most of the following segment. These long tergites might have been beneficial when performing defensive enrolling. In extant millipedes, enrolling is usually facilitated by softer areas between the sternites, allowing for a certain degree of ventral compression. In the new fossil, the sclerotic sternites occupy the entire length of the ventral side of the segment, not allowing for any type of compression. The new fossil therefore demonstrates another solution for the mechanical challenges during enrolment and increases the morphological diversity of Carboniferous millipedes.</p

    The genus Scipopus (Diptera, Micropezidae, Taeniapterinae) is redefined and revised to include the genera previously treated as the “Scipopus group” which included Scipopus Enderlein, Pseudeurybata Hennig, and Phaeopterina Frey. Pseudeurybata is treated as a junior synonym of Phaeopterina and the genus Scipopus is redefined to include three subgenera: Scipopus s. str., Phaeopterina and Parascipopus subgen. nov..     A revision of the genus &lt;I&gt;Cholovocera&lt;/I&gt; Victor, 1838 (Coleoptera: Endomychidae)

    We revise all the species of the genus Cholovocera Victor, 1838 (Coleoptera: Endomychidae), with descriptions, illustrations and complete synonymies, based on the examination of 1878 specimens of Cholovocera and a few beetles of other genera, collected by the senior author and from museum collections, including primary types. We recognise eight valid species, resurrecting three species from synonymy, sinking three as new junior synonyms, and describing a new species. Geographic distributions and a key for the identification of all the species are also given. Species which have been incorrectly associated with Cholovocera are listed and discussed.</p

    L’hominoïde Ouranopithecus macedoniensis (Bonis, Bouvrain, Geraads &amp; Melentis, 1974) est connu dans trois localités du Miocène supérieur en Grèce. Toutes ces localités sont corrélées au Vallesien tardif, MN10 ; plus précisément, elles sont datées entre 9,6 et 8,7 Ma. Au cours des 50 dernières années, plusieurs fossiles de cet hominoïde ont été retrouvés. Cette étude décrit le premier spécimen présentant des dents décidues supérieures, retrouvé dans la localité du Ravin de la Pluie dans la vallée d’Axios (Macédoine, Grèce). La dentition supérieure d’O. macedoniensis est caractérisée par une petite canine par rapport à la longueur des prémolaires dont la couronne occlusale est arrondie, une dP3 trapézoïdal présentant un métacône et un hypocône rudimentaire, une dP4 subcarrée, et l’absence de cingulum. L’attribution taxonomique et sexuelle du matériel étudié est basée sur la dentition permanente préservée et virtuellement reconstruite à l’aide de la tomographie microcomputée à haute résolution. Les comparaisons morphologiques et métriques de la dentition permanente avec l’échantillon disponible d’O. macedoniensis, ainsi que le caractère monospécifique et le fort dimorphisme sexuel de l’échantillon du Ravin de la Pluie permettent de l’attribuer à un individu subadulte femelle de ce taxon. Les dents décidues supérieures d’O. macedoniensis conservent certaines caractéristiques morphologiques qui pourraient avoir une valeur phylogénétique, mais cette hypothèse nécessite des recherches plus approfondies car le matériel disponible pour tous les taxons fossiles est peu abondant.The hominoid Ouranopithecus macedoniensis (Bonis, Bouvrain, Geraads &amp; Melentis, 1974) is known from three Late Miocene localities in Greece. All are correlated with late Vallesian, MN10; more precisely, they are dated between 9.6 and 8.7 Ma. During the last 50 years several fossils of this hominoid have been recovered. The present article describes the first specimen with upper deciduous teeth, recovered from the locality Ravin de la Pluie in Axios Valley (Macedonia, Greece). The upper deciduous dentition of O. macedoniensis is characterised by a small canine relative to the length of the deciduous premolars, with a rounded occlusal crown outline, a trapezoidal dP3 with metacone and a rudimentary hypocone, a sub-squared dP4, and the absence of cingulum. The taxonomic and sexual attribution of the studied material is based on the preserved and virtually reconstructed permanent dentition, using high resolution microcomputed tomography. The morphological and metrical comparisons of the permanent dentition with the available sample of O. macedoniensis, as well as the monospecific character and the strong sexual dimorphism of the Ravin de la Pluie sample, allow its attribution to a female sub-adult individual of this taxon. The upper deciduous teeth of Ouranopithecus macedoniensis preserve some morphological features, that may have a phylogenetic value, but this hypothesis requires further investigation as the available material of all fossil taxa is poor.</p

    New and notable stomatopods (Crustacea, Stomatopoda) from Mozambique

    New and notable stomatopods are reported on and added to the Mozambican faunal list, based principally on material housed in the collections of the Iziko South African Museum. Seven species are reported for the first time from Mozambican waters including one undescribed species of Clorida Eydoux &amp; Souleyet, 1842, bringing the total known Mozambican stomatopod fauna to 22 species, comprising 17 genera and eight families. The known fauna is tabulated and taxonomic accounts of eight species are given, seven of these representing the new species records including one undescribed species, while the eighth species account is of the previously poorly documented Erugosquilla woodmasoni (Kemp, 1911), which is reported on from unpublished material. The new record of Manningia australiensis Manning, 1970 represents the first record of the family Eurysquillidae from southern Africa.</p

The genus Heliophanoides Prószyński, 1992 is redefined and two new combinations, transferred from the genus Phintella Strand, 1906, are proposed: H. tengchongensis (Lei & Peng 2013) comb. nov., and H. longlingensis (Lei & Peng 2013) comb. nov. The unknown sexes of the following six species are described for the first time: Phintella fanjingshan Li, Wang, Zhang & Chen, 2019, P. panda Huang, Wang & Peng, 2015, P. pygmaea (Wesołowska, 1981), P. sancha Cao & Li, 2016, P. wulingensis Huang, Wang & Peng, 2015, and Rhene yunnanensis (Peng & Xie, 1995). Brettus anchorum Wanless, 1979 and Phintella aequipeiformis Żabka, 1985 are newly recorded from China. Icius indicus (Simon, 1901) comb. nov. (transferred from Phintella) is re-described. Phintella levii Huang, Wang & Peng, 2015 is assigned to be a synonym of P. arcuata Huang, Wang & Peng, 2015. Thyene zhangi (Peng, Yin, Yan & Kim, 1998) comb. nov. is transferred from Plexippoides Prószyński, 1984, and T. bilaguncula (Xie & Peng, 1995) comb. nov. is transferred from Ptocasius Simon, 1885. Diagnostic illustrations of the twenty-nine species and the distributional maps of the studied specimens are provided

    Six new species in the genus &lt;I&gt;Innobindus&lt;/I&gt; Jacobi 1928 (Hemiptera: Auchenorrhyncha: Fulgoromorpha: Cixiidae: Brixiini)

    Six new species are described in the Australian planthopper genus Innobindus Jacobi, 1928. A new species group, the artus group, is created for Innobindus artus sp. nov., I. kaanti sp. nov. and I. loriensis sp. nov.; Innobindus gimani sp. nov. is added to the licinus group and I. geminatus sp. nov. to the multimaculatus group. Another new species, Innobindus oppositus sp. nov., could not be assigned to a species group as it shows unique features within Innobindus regarding forewing venation and chaetotaxy. A checklist and identification key to males of all 13 species of Innobindus is provided. Innobindus is endemic to the eastern parts of New South Wales and Queensland, distribution maps for each species are presented

    La faune du Jurassique moyen (Callovien) de Sainte-Scolasse-sur-Sarthe (Normandie, France) est remarquable par ces crustacés exceptionnellement conservés dans ­des niveaux de calcaire gréseux. La faune de crustacés est composée de cinq espèces appartenant aux Glypheidae, Erymidae et Longodromitidae. Les glyphées constituent le groupe le plus diversifié et abondant. Une description anatomique détaillée permet de proposer la première reconstitution de Glyphea dressieri Meyer in Bronn, 1837, et de mettre en évidence un dimorphisme sexuel marqué. Des observations similaires sont faites chez Glyphea regleyana (Desmarest, 1822). Une analyse quantitative basée sur 149 spécimens montre que deux espèces sont dominantes : Glyphea regleyana (47,0 % des spécimens) et G. dressieri (46,3 %). Le paléoenvironnement est interprété comme une vasière côtière largement ouverte sur la mer franche. Plus précisément, le faciès sédimentaire et la faune associée indiquent un milieu de plateforme distale (zone circalittorale supérieure). La faune de Sainte-Scolasse est relativement proche de celle de l’Oxfordien de Haute-Saône (Est de la France) et forme donc aussi un assemblage intermédiaire entre les communautés de plateformes carbonatées peu profondes (ex : Lagerstätten du Calcaire Lithographique de Solnhofen) et celles de la zone bathyale (ex : Lagerstätte de La Voulte-sur-Rhône).The Middle Jurassic (Callovian) fauna from Sainte-Scolasse-sur-Sarthe (Normandy, France) is remarkable for its exceptionally preserved crustaceans in arenaceous limestone beds. The crustacean fauna includes five species assigned to the Glypheidae, Erymidae and Longodromitidae. Glypheid lobsters are the most diversified and abundant group. A new detailed anatomic description leads to the first reconstruction of Glyphea dressieri Meyer in Bronn, 1837, and to highlight a marked sexual dimorphism. Similar observations are made in Glyphea regleyana (Desmarest, 1822). A quantitative analysis based on 149 specimens shows two dominant species: Glyphea regleyana (47.0 % of specimens) and G. dressieri (46.3 %). The palaeoenvironment is interpreted as subtidal mud flats largely open to offshore conditions. More precisely, the sedimentary facies and the associated fauna are indicators of a distal platform setting (upper circalittoral zone). The Sainte-Scolasse fauna is relatively close to that of the Oxfordian of Haute-Saône (eastern France) and thus forms an intermediate assemblage between the communities from the shallow carbonate platforms (e.g., Solnhofen Lithographic Limestone Lagerstätten) and those from the bathyal zone (e.g., La Voulte-sur-Rhône Lagerstätte).</p

    Genus &lt;I&gt;Schismatothele&lt;/I&gt; Karsch, 1879 (Araneae, Theraphosidae): taxonomic notes and seven new species description

    Seven new species of Schismatothele Karsch, 1879 (Araneae, Theraphosidae) are described, almost doubling the diversity of the genus: S. caeri sp. nov.; S. caiquetia sp. nov.; S. merida sp. nov.; S. moonenorum sp. nov.; S. quimbaya sp. nov.; S. timotocuica sp. nov. and S. wayana sp. nov. An identification key for all species of Schismatothele (except S. kastoni) is presented, as well as a complementary diagnosis for the genus. Also, a standardized nomenclature is proposed to describe the prolateral keels of male palpal bulbs of species of Schismatothele

    Andean giants: &lt;I&gt;Priscula&lt;/I&gt; spiders from Ecuador, with notes on species groups and egg-sac troglomorphism (Araneae: Pholcidae)

    The Andean genus Priscula Simon, 1893 includes the largest Neotropical pholcid spiders, but due to their mostly cryptic lifestyle they remain poorly collected and poorly studied. Many species available in collections remain undescribed and nothing has been published about the phylogeny and the biology of the genus. Here, we deal with a recent collection of Priscula spiders from Ecuador, the country of origin of the type species, P. gularis Simon, 1893. We describe eight new species, collected at 17 localities at altitudes from 640–3160 m, all based on males and females: P. azuay sp. nov., P. llaviucu sp. nov., P. espejoi sp. nov., P. esmeraldas sp. nov., P. chapintza sp. nov., P. pastaza sp. nov., P. bonita sp. nov., and P. lumbaqui  sp. nov. We use a sample of approximately 26 species-level taxa, mostly from Ecuador and Venezuela, to propose a first hypothesis about relationships within the genus. Our data (mainly CO1) suggest the existence of five species groups, three of which are represented in Ecuador. The cave-dwelling P. pastaza sp. nov. is only slightly troglomorphic (paler than usual; anterior median eyes strongly reduced or lost) but differs dramatically from forest-dwelling congeners in its biology: it hangs fully exposed in its web during the day; it produces egg sacs with only 6–7 eggs (average in 15 other species: 42 eggs); and it produces the largest eggs relative to body size of all studied species.</p
