Nouvelles données sur la répartition du genre <i>Roeseliana</i> Zeuner, 1941 (Orthoptera, Tettigoniidae, Tettigoniinae) dans le sud-ouest des Balkans, avec la description de <i>R. epirotica</i> n. sp.
Cet article apporte de nouvelles données biogéographiques sur le genre Roeseliana Zeuner, 1941 dans le sud-ouest des Balkans, avec la description d’une nouvelle espèce, Roeseliana epirotica n. sp., découverte sur quatre stations de l’étage médio-méditerranéen de la région de l’Épire, en Grèce et en Albanie. Dès l’étage supra-méditerranéen, en Albanie, en Grèce mais également en République de Macédoine du Nord, nous avons observé uniquement Roeseliana ambitiosa (Uvarov, 1924), avec laquelle R. epirotica n. sp. a probablement été confondue dans ses stations les plus méditerranéennes. Ces deux taxons sont néanmoins bien différenciés, spécialement par la forme de la plaque sous-génitale chez la femelle et la forme des titillateurs chez le mâle.This article provides new biogeographical data on the genus Roeseliana Zeuner, 1941 in the southwestern Balkans, with the description of a new species, Roeseliana epirotica n. sp., discovered in four localities of the meso-Mediterranean zone of the Epirus region in Greece and Albania. From the supra-Mediterranean zone and upper, in Albania, Greece and also in the Republic of North Macedonia, we have only observed Roeseliana ambitiosa (Uvarov, 1924), with which R. epirotica n. sp. was probably confused in its most Mediterranean localities. These two taxa are nevertheless well differentiated, especially by the shape of the subgenital plate in the female and the shape in the titillators of the male.</p
The ammonoids from the <I>Gattendorfia</I> Limestone of Oberrödinghausen (Early Carboniferous; Rhenish Mountains, Germany)
The railway cutting near Oberrödinghausen at the northern margin of the Rhenish Mountains is the cardinal section for the investigation of Early Tournaisian (Early Carboniferous; Mississippian) ammonoids. The ammonoids from the Hangenberg Limestone (= Gattendorfia Limestone) of this and neighbouring outcrops are revised here, using the historical collections as well as undescribed new material. The ammonoid assemblages are composed of a total of 67 species, which occur in four successive ammonoid zones. The assemblages are composed of predominant prionoceratids (Order Goniatitina) with the twenty genera Mimimitoceras (two species), Globimitoceras (one species), Paragattendorfia (two species), Kornia (three species), Stockumites (eleven species), Acutimitoceras (two species), Costimitoceras (one species), Nicimitoceras (four species), Imitoceras (one species), Voehringerites (one species), Gattendorfia (eight species), Zadelsdorfia (two species), Kazakhstania (one species), Gattenpleura (one species), Weyerella (three species), Hasselbachia (three species), Paprothites (five species), Pseudarietites (three species), Rodingites (two species), Paralytoceras (one species) as well as subordinate eocanitids (Order Prolecanitida) with the genera Eocanites (eight species) and Nomismocanites (one species). The new genera Rodingites gen. nov. and Nomismocanites gen. nov. as well as the new species Mimimitoceras perditum sp. nov., Kornia fibula sp. nov., Kornia acia sp. nov., Stockumites parallelus sp. nov., Stockumites voehringeri sp. nov., Acutimitoceras ucatum sp. nov., Acutimitoceras paracutum sp. nov., Imitoceras initium sp. nov., Gattendorfia rhenana sp. nov., Gattendorfia bella sp. nov., Gattendorfia valdevoluta sp. nov., Gattendorfia schmidti sp. nov., Gattendorfia corpulenta sp. nov., Gattendorfia immodica sp. nov., Zadelsdorfia oblita sp. nov., Weyerella lenis sp. nov., Hasselbachia erronea sp. nov., Paprothites beckeri sp. nov., Paprothites kullmanni sp. nov., Eocanites delicatus sp. nov. and Nomismocanites raritas gen. et sp. nov. are described from Oberrödinghausen. Mimimitoceras mina sp. nov., Stockumites marocensis sp. nov., Zadelsdorfia zana sp. nov. and Kazakhstania kana sp. nov. are newly named for material from the Anti-Atlas of Morocco
Integrative approach to describe new species of squat lobsters of the genera <I>Heteronida</I> Baba & de Saint Laurent, 1996 and <I>Torbenella</I> Baba, 2008 (Decapoda, Munididae) from the Southwestern Pacific Ocean
Specimens of munidid squat lobsters belonging to the genera Heteronida Baba & de Saint Laurent, 1996 and Torbenella Baba, 2008 were collected in scientific expeditions made by several French cruises along the southwestern Pacific. These specimens were identified as two species (one new) of Heteronida and six species (four new) of Torbenella. The present paper provides systematic accounts of the five new species, along with new locality records of known species shown by this material and color information where available. Molecular data is provided to support the systematic status of each new species. A key to species for each of the genera is also presented
Changement de la morphologie de la coquille dans une lignée d’espèces de gastéropodes terrestres du Miocène supérieur et du Pliocène (Gastropoda: Stylommatophora: Spiraxidae), avec la description d’une nouvelle espèce
Le genre Palaeoglandina Wenz, 1914 (Gastropoda: Stylommatophora: Spiraxidae) est un membre commun des communautés de gastéropodes terrestres du Cénozoïque européen. Il a été signalé dans de nombreux horizons stratigraphiques de la péninsule ibérique allant de l’Éocène moyen (Lutétien) au Pléistocène précoce (Calabre). En étudiant les communautés du Miocène supérieur au Pliocène inférieur dans le bassin de Teruel, dans l’est de l’Espagne, nous avons constaté que les espèces précédemment signalées s’étaient révélées comme des erreurs d’identification, étant une espèce non décrite. Sur la base d’un examen approfondi des espèces européennes contemporaines du genre, nous présentons une nouvelle espèce, Palaeoglandina turolensis n. sp. Elle se caractérise par une grande coquille ovalé à fusiforme, relativement robuste, avec des verticilles modérément convexes, une courte spire et un grand dernier verticille, une grande ouverture piriforme et une ornementation caractéristique du protoconque, consistant en un profond sillon spiralé flanqué de riblets prosocyrt épais et courts. Nous avons appliqué des analyses morphométriques géométriques pour évaluer la variabilité morphologique de l’espèce. Nos résultats indiquent des différences dans l’occupation morphospatiale de l’espèce au fil du temps, que nous interprétons comme un changement morphologique entre le Miocène supérieur et le Pliocène inférieur, de coquilles larges et de spire courte à des coquilles élancées et de spire longues.The genus Palaeoglandina Wenz, 1914 (Gastropoda: Stylommatophora: Spiraxidae) is a common member of land snail communities in the European Cenozoic. It has been reported from numerous stratigraphic horizons in the Iberian Peninsula ranging from the Middle Eocene (Lutetian) to the Early Pleistocene (Calabrian). Investigating Late Miocene to Early Pliocene communities in the Teruel Basin in eastern Spain, we found that previous species records proved to be misidentifications of a yet undescribed species. Based on a thorough review of contemporaneous European species of the genus we introduce a new species, Palaeoglandina turolensis n. sp. It is characterized by a large oval to fusiform, comparatively stout shell with moderately convex whorls, short spire and large last whorl, large, pyriform aperture, and a characteristic protoconch ornamentation, consisting of a deep spiral groove flanked by thick, short, prosocyrt riblets. We applied geometric morphometric analyses to assess the species’ morphological variability. Our results indicate differences in the species’ morphospace occupation through time, which we interpret as a morphological shift from the Late Miocene to the Early Pliocene, from broad, short-spired shells to slender, long-spired shells.</p
Isopodes terrestres (Isopoda, Oniscidea) de l’île de São Tomé, avec la description de deux nouvelles espèces d’Armadillidae Brandt, 1831
L’île de São Tomé est située dans le golfe de Guinée sur la côte ouest de l’Afrique et constitue l’un des « hotspots » de la biodiversité mondiale. Elle est connue pour son grand nombre d’espèces endémiques, aussi bien des vertébrés que des plantes ; cependant, de nombreux groupes d’arthropodes sont peu connus, y compris les isopodes terrestres (Isopoda, Oniscidea). Nous avons étudié 121 spécimens de 14 espèces et six familles, collectés dans l’île de São Tomé. Six espèces sont signalées pour la première fois sur l’île : Agnara madagascariensis (Budde-Lund, 1885); Ctenorillo bananae (Van Name, 1920); Cubaris murina Brandt, 1833; Elumoides atlanticus Ferrara & Schmalfuss, 1983; Trichorhina kribensis Ferrara & Schmalfuss, 1983 et Nagurus cristatus (Dollfus, 1889). De plus, nous décrivons deux nouvelles espèces d’Armadillidae Brandt, 1831 : Ctenorillo atlanticus n. sp. et Gabunillo thomensis n. sp. Actuellement, 17 espèces de ce groupe sont connues de l’île de São Tomé, dont quatre ne sont connues que de cette île.The island of São Tomé is located in the Gulf of Guinea on the western coast of Africa and is one of the world’s biodiversity hotspots. It is known by its large number of endemic vertebrate and plant species; however, many arthropod groups are little known including terrestrial isopods (Isopoda, Oniscidea). We studied 121 specimens from 14 species and six families collected in the island of São Tomé. Six species are registered for the first time in the island: Agnara madagascariensis (Budde-Lund, 1885); Ctenorillo bananae (Van Name, 1920); Cubaris murina Brandt, 1833; Elumoides atlanticus Ferrara & Schmalfuss, 1983; Trichorhina kribensis Ferrara & Schmalfuss, 1983 and Nagurus cristatus (Dollfus, 1889). Additionally, we describe two new Armadillidae Brandt, 1831 species: Ctenorillo atlanticus n. sp. and Gabunillo thomensis n. sp. Currently, 17 species of this group are known from the island of São Tome, four of which are only known from this island.</p
<i>Clitoria ternatea</i> L. var. <i>angustifolia</i> Hochst. ex Baker (Fabaceae) : nouveau signalement variétal en Asie pour l’Inde
Clitoria ternatea L. var. angustifolia Hochst. ex Baker (Fabaceae) est signalée comme nouvelle en Asie et pour la première fois en Inde. Les détails de son identification, de sa description et de sa distribution sont donnés ici, et un lectotype est désigné. Une photo détaillée de la plante et une clé artificielle des variétés de Clitoria ternatea L. indienne sont fournies.Clitoria ternatea L. var. angustifolia Hochst. ex Baker (Fabaceae), is reported as new to Asia for the first time from India. Details of its identification, description and distribution are provided here along with the designation of a lectotype. A detailed photo plate of the plant with an artificial key to the varieties of Indian Clitoria ternatea L. are provided.</p
<I>Croton restingae</I> sp. nov. (Euphorbiaceae), a new species of section <I>Adenophylli</I> from the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and its phylogenetic relationships
We describe and illustrate Croton restingae Sodré & Riina sp. nov., a new species endemic to a restricted area in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, characterized by a particular type of vegetation of the Atlantic Forest known as restinga. The new species belongs to Croton sect. Adenophylli subsect. Laceratoglandulosus, which is supported by morphology and a phylogenetic analysis based on nrDNA ITS sequence data. Croton restingae is most closely related to C. echioides and C. laceratoglandulosus, also in subsect. Laceratoglandulosus, with which it shares the fruit columella with three non-inflated, flat or slightly ascending apical appendages. Croton restingae differs from them by its sessile or shortly stipitate leaf nectaries, revolute pistillate sepals, styles distally 2-fid and basally united forming a column, and larger capsules (7.5–8 × 8.5–9.3 mm). Croton restingaeʼs habitat, conservation status, phenology, morphology and phylogenetic relationships are discussed, and a map with its geographic distribution is also included
<I>Inocybe hopeae</I> sp. nov. and first record of <I>Pseudosperma keralense</I> (Inocybaceae) from Thailand
Based on genetic studies, supported further by morphological and ecological differences, we present a taxonomic novelty (Inocybe hopeae Raghoonundon & Raspé sp. nov.) and a new geographical record (Pseudosperma keralense) from forests of Northern Thailand. Inocybe hopeae is characterized by medium-sized basidiomes, brownish orange to brown pileus that is darker towards the margin, off-white to pale brown context, light brown to dark brown stipe with off-white basal mycelium and pale brown to grayish brown lamellae. A three-gene phylogeny (LSU, tef1, rpb2) coupled with macroscopic / microscopic descriptions and illustrations are provided confirming the species’ positions in their respective generic clades. Inocybe hopeae was sister to I. thailandica with strong support (BS = 100%, PP = 1.0). Our Thai collections of OR1629 had similar morphological characters and 100% identical sequences with the holotype of Pseudosperma keralense from India.</p
<I>Inocybe subhimalayanensis</I> (Agaricales, Inocybaceae), a new smooth spored <I>Inocybe</I> species from Pakistan
During mycological explorations, a new smooth spored species, Inocybe subhimalayanensis Razzaq, Naseer & Khalid sp. nov. was collected from moist temperate sub-Himalayan region, Pakistan. Phylogeny of ITS and LSU regions of nrDNA, and morphoanatomical data make it distinct from other known species of the genus. The taxon is characterized by: a yellowish orange to brown pileus with prominent fibrillose, prominent umbo; ellipsoid to amygdaliform smooth larger basidiospores (8.4‒)8.6‒12.2(‒12.6) × (4.9‒)5.1‒7.1(‒7.3) µm; and lack of velipellis. Molecular phylogenetic analyses further support the recognition of the new species.</p
A new genus and a new species of railroad-worm beetle from Peru (Coleoptera, Phengodidae, Mastinocerinae)
Here I describe a new genus, Iviephengus gen. nov., based on a single species, Iviephengus ferreirai gen. et sp. nov., from Peru. This new genus is characterized by the following combination of characters: interantennal distance close to 3 × the antennal socket length; antenna 12-segmented, IV to XI each with two long symmetrical compressed and apically slightly enlarged branches; labrum fused to frontoclypeus; mandibles short, obliquely crossed, each with a notch on the external margin to fit the other mandible and without extra teeth; maxillary palpi 4-segmented, last segment digitiform; labial palpi 2-segmented; posterior tentorial pit consisting of a single small fossa; wing with radial cell closed and transverse, vein r4 interrupted, r3 absent; first tarsomere of pro- and mesotarsus with a ventral comb covering the posterior half of the tarsomere; claws simple, without any teeth; aedeagus with paramere symmetrical, apex unevenly round, toothed inward, with short and sparse bristles. I provide a key to Mastinocerinae genera with 12-segmented antennae and the first pro- and mesotarsomere with ventral combs. I also provide illustrations for the diagnostic features for this new genus. Finally, I discuss the presence and function of some modifications in the mandible and the sternite VIII in Phengodidae and other Coleopteran families.</p
