Get PDFУ статті йдеться про зв’язки класичних творів Г. Квітки-Основ’яненка з доробком його попередників і сучасників – І. Котляревського, П. Гулака-Артемовського, М. Гоголя. Розглянуто внутрішній конфлікт письменника – витвореної ним маски пересічного мешканця Російської імперії і водночас зачинателя нової української прози й палкого захисника виражальних можливостей рідної мови. Полемічно переоцінюються образи повістей “Маруся”, “Щира любов”, “Конотопська відьма”, а також декларована наратором життєва філософія.The paper examines the relationship between the canonical texts by H. Kvitka-Osnovyanenko and the heritage of his forerunners and contemporaries, primarily that of I. Kotliarevsky, P. Hulak-Artemovsky, and N. Gogol. The author also pays attention to the writer’s inward confl ict between the mask of an average citizen of Russian Empire and his role as a founder of the modern Ukrainian prose and as a guardian of his mother tongue. This leads to the polemic reappraisal of the fi gures inhabiting Kvitka-Osnovyanenko’s narratives, such as “Marusia”, “The Sincere Love”, or “The Witch from Konotop”, as well as of the narrator’s everyday life philosophy

Get PDFThe paper explores Lesia Ukrayinka’s verse drama “On the field of blood” as a unity of two major levels: external (plot) and internal (ideology and symbols). The text of the drama is thereby confronted with its literary prototext, that is, with the Bible and the Christian picture of the world inspired by it. The backgroundof the play is stated to be the author’s strategy of world modeling which provides subjective and objective approaches to the literary material.У статті розглянуто драматичну поему Лесі Українки “На полі крові” через співвіднесеність двох її основних проблемно-тематичних рівнів – зовнішнього (сюжетно-подієвого) та внутрішнього (ідейно-символічного). Твір письменниці досліджується крізь призму літературного прототексту – Біблії та інспірованої нею християнської картини світоустрою. За вихідну основу розгляду взято авторську стратегію моделювання реальності в координатах суб’єктивного і об’єктивного підходів до художнього освоєння матеріалу

Get PDFУ статті вперше здійснено порівняльний аналіз канонічного “Ходіння ігумена Данила” з паломницькими текстами ХVI – ХVII ст. – “Апологією” М. Смотрицького, “Перегринацією” М. К. Радзивіла, анонімним “Словом про якогось там старця”, що мають стосунок до культури України. На підставі вивчення новаторства згаданих творів сформульовано висновок про західноєвропейский компонент у літературному процесі східних слов’ян. Художні особливості паломницького тексту перехідного періоду дають змогу стверджувати: ходіння як жанр сприяло розвитку оповідної форми письма Нового часу; концептуальність паломницького тексту ХVII ст. свідчить про еволюцію жанру ходінь у білоруській та українській літературах.For the first time, the article proposes a comparative analysis of “The Journey of Hegumen Daniil”, a canonic example of the pilgrimage genre, and the pilgrimage texts of 16th and 17th centuries, i.e. Meletius Smotrytsky’s “Apologia”, M.K. Radziwill’s “Peregrinatio”, and “The Word of a Certain Old Man” written by an anonymous author. Upon examination of innovative features characteristic of the above-mentioned texts, we retrace the Western
European components in the literary process of Eastern Slavic cultural area. A detailed review of the texts written during the transitional period leads to the conclusion that the pilgrimage genre contributed substantially to the development of narrative patterns in the literature of the New Age. The conceptual model of the 18th century’s texts is indicative of the evolution of pilgrimage genre in Belarusian and Ukrainian literatures
