The fight against covid-19 invites us to reflection and social change. The great
scientific technological advance applied to medicine has made it possible for
us to have vaccines that turn out to be our only weapon against covid-19.
Which, as it is a relatively new, variable disease with no cure, is a cause for
concern in societies and that has filled the population with doubts about the
decision to get immunized or not.
Since the vaccines became available speculation and information crossovers
have increased, causing completely justified fear. Reason that drives
many to refuse to receive it, making full use of respect for the fundamental
principles of autonomy and freedom. While it is true, no one can force anyone
to take a treatment. However, the common good and the advantages that we
would have if we achieved complete immunization cannot be ignored.
Governments have made their effort to guarantee public safety and
protection. However, the information regarding vaccines must be timely, accurate and clear to guide us in making a responsible decision, respecting
our rights and acting in search of the greatest social good
The continous development of biotechnology and of philosophical transhuman
proposals have questioned the existance of human nature. To state or
deny a human nature is the necessary pretext to modify technologically the
human being and take it to a new Project of being: the bioartfactual. The present
analysis reflects on human nature from the perspective of biohermeneutics
proposed by Jesús Conill in his work. “Corporal intimacy and human person”.
Fort he spanish philosopher, critical hermeneutics represent an alternative answer
to the naturalization and techonlogization efforts of life. Two paths have
to be walked to formulate a proposal. The first one, to take on the concept of
“human nature” from a interpretive perspective, with the intention of correcting
the notions of substance and essence. The second one, to advance the
experience of corporal intimacy as a way to understand the human person and
the value of it’s dignity. In this way, it is expected, that the efforts to winnow oroutgrow the traditional notion of human nature, will be reflected in an autonomous
moral that qualifies the person to judge it’s own actions and the actions
of others. Just as Zubiri and Laín had taught, being a person is a Project of
appropiation and self delivery

Including health research in a publicly accessible registry provides transparency
and reliability for all stakeholders. With this in mind, a transformation process
was carried out in the way Research Ethics Committees (RECs) perform
their activity in Buenos Aires City, Argentina. In 2019 the Computerized Registry
Platform for Health Research of the City of Buenos Aires (PRIISA.BA)
was developed. Through it, the ethical and methodological evaluation of the
protocols is managed, until the effective issuance of the Committees’ opinion. The platform allows REC to make observations and interact with principal
investigators and sponsors. After a study is approved or rejected, it is incorporated
into a public access registry. Since its use is mandatory, experience has
shown that underreporting has been eliminated, providing the RECs with
a management and communication tool, which facilitates their activity. The
objective of this work is to share the experience and review the different stages
of the process, through which the use of the platform was developed, implemented
and consolidated for all the research ethics committees of the public
and private sector, from the Ministry of Health of the City of Buenos Aires
Yo soy, el Señor, tu médico (Éxodo 15, 26) : Biblia, salud, y medicina
The formulation of public policies for the health of citizens must dialogue
with the problems and dilemmas of the context. Bioethics and ethical action
must generate awareness in the processes of social change. A leader with
these traits was Jesus of Nazareth, recognized as a doctor or healer in the first
century, who put health at the center of social justice. The narrative method
uncovers the suffering of Palestinian society under Roman rule. Justice and
law seem attainable only with a violent change of powers. Jesus chose a path
other than violence, he went through towns and villages like a doctor, and
the simple people showed the people whom he healed and gave back their
dignity and identity. Jesus was interested in the physical health of human beings;
is the meaning of the word “savior”. The leading role of bioethics and
health in human history appears in ancestral culture, in the gospels and, in
the Bible, it is a trait of God the Creator, it is enough to bring the concluding
sentence of Exodus 15, 26, which Martin Luther translated: “I am, the Lord,
your physician”

Global Survey of Business Ethics 2022-2024 : teaching, research and training. Vol. 2, Asia, Australia, Russia and America
The Global Survey of Business Ethics 2022-2024 (GSBE) incorporates the full 36 country or regional reports that were collated over three years of investigation by 94 reporters. The sheer volume of content required the publication of three volumes. This second volume is collated as follows: Volume 2: Short introduction to the Global Survey of Business Ethics 2022-2024 and the reports from Asia, Australia, Russia, South and North America. While volume 1 and volume 3 present the country reports from one continent, that is, from Africa and Europe, respectively, in contrast, this volume 2 contains 13 reports from five continents and includes seven from the ten most populous countries on Earth (Worldometers 2024): India (1,428,627,663), China (1,425,671,352), United States 339,996,563), Indonesia(277,534,122), Brazil (216,422,446), Russia (144,444,359) and Mexico (128,455,567). Adding the most populous country in volume 1, that is, Nigeria with 223,804,632 people, the GSBE book includes a total of 4,184,976,704 people or ca. 52% of the world population (8,118,835,999). Given this enormous population, the reports in this volume can only provide some tiny, but not insignificant insights of the huge diversity of challenges and opportunities in the field of business ethics.
The reports are presented in this volume and include Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Japan, Indonesia, Philippines, India, Australia, Russia, Latin America, Brazil, United States, and Mexico
