    Understanding the characteristics of suicide in Gunungkidul Regency, Yogyakarta, Indonesia: A retrospective analysis

    Purpose: This research aims to identify the characteristics of suicide in Gunungkidul Regency, Yogyakarta. Method: The approach used is a retrospective study, based on retrospective data obtained from the Gunungkidul Regency Resort Police in 2017–2022. Result: The results of the analysis show that of the total 173 suicide cases, 53.2% occurred in the elderly group. The majority of suicide cases involved individuals working as farmers (72.3%), with the primary method used being hanging (100%). Motives for suicide varied, including chronic illness (23.7%), depression (10.4%), and a combination of physical illness and depression (6.9%). Conclusion: Increasing access to social support, physical and mental health services in this area, as well as focusing more specifically on prevention efforts linked to recognizing suicide motives, are some of the implications of this research. Apart from providing health assistance to individuals experiencing depression, it also cultivates a new social culture that can effectively shield people from depression, loneliness, feelings of burdensomeness, and other issues

    The effects of music listening on emerging adulthood in dealing with grief of losing parents during the covid-19 pandemic

    Purpose: The COVID-19 pandemic is a difficult situation to face, especially at the emerging adulthood development stage. The death factor during the COVID-19 pandemic continues to rise and increases daily cases in Indonesia. Grief is one of the responses felt by individuals in the emerging adulthood development stage who experienced the loss of someone close to them during the COVID-19 pandemic. Music is one of the coping techniques that individuals can use throughout the time of grief during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research aims to determine the role of music in emerging adulthood in alleviating grief, and aims to obtain an overview of the condition in question after being faced with grief. Method: This research was conducted using qualitative methods with semi-structured interviews. The participant criteria used in this study were individuals aged 18 to 25 years, who had experienced the death of a parent during the COVID-19 pandemic, and listened to music when they lost a loved one. The number of participants in this research was three female participants with convenience sampling as the sampling technique used. The interview was conducted in three sessions and each interview session lasted 60 to 90 minutes. The interview guide used included questions to dig deeper into participants' feelings and experiences during the COVID19 pandemic, music listening activities, and participants' experiences of grief. The integrity of the research methodology was carried out using member checking. The analysis technique for this research uses thematic analysis. Result: The results of this research shows that the grief experienced by emerging adults is faced and responded into different ways. The music listened to by emerging adults has goals and benefits as a coping strategy for the three participants. Conclusion: The experience of grief experienced by emerging adulthood can also be overcome with support from the closest ones or significant others

    PERANCANGAN TABLEWARE MENGADAPTASI BUNGKUS MAKANAN TRADISIONAL PINCUK DARI INDONESIA

    Abstract —This research aims to create a cutlery product that is comfortable when carried in hand, when we eat sometimes there are situations where we don't use a table to place cutlery and of course, we will carry the cutlery in our hands and eat in that position. However, it's a shame that the existing cutlery designs don't have a plan adapted for use in that situation. In the process of solving this problem, the author has an idea to adjust the traditional food packaging, pincuk which has a function similar to the objectives of the research. In the process of conducting this research, the authors also made observations on the forms of cutlery that already existed, the most influential positions of the arms and hand grips when holding an object, and traditional food wrappers. From the results of observations and research that has been carried out, various kinds of model studies can then be made to find the shape and design that best suits the research objectives. The result is a cutlery product that is comfortable to carry in the hand and to eat in that position, but still maintains the existing advantages of cutlery products in general. Keywords: tableware, pincuk, adaptation   Abstrak— Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menciptakan suatu produk alat makan yang nyaman saat dibawa di tangan, saat kita makan terkadang ada situasi dimana kita tidak memakai meja untuk meletakkan alat makan dan tentunya kita akan membawa alat makan tersebut di tangan dan makan dalam posisi itu. Namun, sayangnya desain alat-alat makan yang ada tidak memilki desain yang disesuaikan untuk pemakaian dalam situasi tersebut. Dalam proses penyelesain masalah ini penulis memilki sebuah ide untuk mengadaptasi bungkus makanan tradisional pincuk yang memilki fungsi serupa dengan tujuan dari penelitian. Dalam proses penelitian yang dilakukan ini, penulis juga melakukan observasi terhadap bentuk alat makan yang telah ada, posisi lengan dan genggaman tangan yang paling efektik saat menggenggam suatu objek, dan terhadap bungkus makanan tradisional. Dari hasil observasi dan penelitian yang telah dilakukan, kemudian dapat dilakukan pembuatan berbagai macam studi model untuk menemukan bentuk dan desain yang paling sesuai dengan tujuan penelitian. Hasil akhir merupakan suatu produk alat makan yang nyaman saat dibawa di tangan dan untuk makan dalam posisi tersebut, namun masih tetap menjaga keunggulan yang ada dari produk alat makan pada umumnya.     Tren Studi Perempuan Selama Transisi Menopause

    This study is a bibliometric analysis with the aim to explore scientific publications related to the psychological well-being of women in the perimenopause transition phase. The analyzed data was sourced from scientific articles indexed by Scopus from 1985 to October 2023. Scientific article search technique was conducted by tracking scientific publication documents in a database through search queries with search string. Analysis results provided four main findings: (1) psychology is not the only scientific discipline that studies issues related to the menopausal transition phase and not the field of study that produces the highest number of scientific publications; (2) publications related to the menopausal transition phase with the highest level of influence in the discipline of psychology are dominated by mental health topics such as depression and sleep disorders; (3) academic interest in studying the menopausal transition phase in psychology is increasing with each publication period; and (4) a diversity of study topics has emerged as interest in studying the menopausal transition phase has increased; however, in the last twenty years, there has been a trend towards stagnation of studies on the topic of perimenopausal depression and decrease of research interest in various dimensions of psychological well-being. The conclusion of this study is that bibliometric metadata of a scientific publication corpus is dynamic, causing metrics to change with time, and that analysis can be utilized to see trends in scientific publications related to the issue of women's physical and psychological health in the menopausal transition phase.Studi ini berupa analisa bibliometrik, dengan tujuan mengeksplorasi publikasi ilmiah yang berkaitan dengan kesejahteraan psikologis perempuan dalam fase transisi perimenopause. Data yang dianalisis berasal dari artikel ilmiah terindeks Scopus dari tahun 1985 sampai dengan Oktober 2023. Teknik pencarian artikel ilmiah dilakukan dengan melacak dokumen publikasi ilmiah pada pangkalan data melalui permintaan pencarian dengan search string. Analisa menghasilkan empat poin utama: (1) psikologi bukan satu-satunya disiplin ilmu yang mengkaji persoalan terkait fase transisi menopause dan bukan bidang studi terbanyak yang menghasilkan publikasi ilmiah; (2) publikasi terkait fase transisi menopause dengan tingkat pengaruh tertinggi dalam disiplin psikologi didominasi oleh topik kesehatan mental seperti depresi dan gangguan tidur; (3) ketertarikan akademisi untuk mengkaji fase transisi menopause dalam disiplin psikologi semakin meningkat di tiap periode waktu publikasi; dan (4) keberagaman topik kajian muncul seiring peningkatan minat untuk mengkaji fase transisi menopause, namun dalam dua puluh tahun terakhir terdapat kecenderungan stagnasi kajian pada topik depresi perimenopause dan semakin rendahnya minat pada beragam dimensi kesejahteraan psikologi. Kesimpulan studi ini adalah metadata bibliografi dari suatu korpus publikasi ilmiah bersifat dinamis, sehingga berbagai metrik dapat berubah seiring waktu, dan bahwa analisis dapat dimanfaatkan untuk melihat tren dalam publikasi ilmiah, terkait isu kesehatan fisik dan psikologis perempuan dalam tahapan transisi menopause

    This research aims to understand the management of Village Fund Cash Transfer to establish good governance, based on phenomena that occurred in Sentul Village, Pasuruan Regency. This study analyzes the Village Fund Cash Transfer utilizing the interpretive paradigm and qualitative approach. Data is obtained by conducting in-depth interviews with the local authority and Sentul local inhabitants of Sentul Village, who were key informants. This research found that Village Fund Cash Transfer is interpreted as funds that must be accounted for, social safety nets, and relationships. The distribution of village fund cash transfers should comply with the concept of good governance to achieve a fair government. Empirically, in a broader sense, the Village Fund Cash Transfer is not only defined as aid for the poor, but also as funds that must be accounted for and a relationship of trust that must be maintained.     MENGUKUR KUALITAS PELAYANAN TENAGA PENJUALAN: STUDI PADA SEBUAH PERUSAHAAN DISTRIBUTOR SANDAL KARET DI SURABAYA

    Over the past three years, the sales of sandals and rubber shoes have been significantly impacted by the global COVID-19 pandemic. This has coincided with the economic downturn, particularly in the industrial sector. One way to recover is through innovations in the sales of primary, secondary, and tertiary products. By providing high-quality services and prime performance from the human resources possessed, it is hoped that the company's performance can be improved. The purpose of this study is to understand the quality of service and sales performance. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive approach, where data collection was conducted through interviews, observations, and recordings. Through a literature review and the information obtained, it was found that the service provided by the salespeople being studied has an impact on their performance. The factors studied include product knowledge, clarity in presenting information, and the process of providing service quickly, accurately, and completely. Many studies on customer service quality have been conducted in service companies such as banks, hotels, and hospitals, but there have been few assessments of service quality in small industries with standardized service standards. The purpose of this study is to bridge this gap by evaluating the condition of service quality for customers to formulate effective and suitable strategies for improving the company. The limitations of this study are that it only focuses on one distributor company and additional approaches are needed to obtain more complex information

    ADULT LEARNERS’ LANGUAGE ACQUISITION: A CASE STUDY OF IN-HOUSE TRAINING OF COMPANY “X” JAKARTA

    The acquisition of English proficiency among adult learners is essential in today's globalized world, where English serves as the lingua franca of international business and communication. The demand for English proficiency extends beyond external business interactions to internal organizational processes, where effective communication within multicultural teams is crucial for collaboration and productivity. To thrive in the interconnected global economy, Indonesian companies must invest in English language training initiatives to equip their workforce with the necessary skills to navigate diverse work environments successfully. This descriptive qualitative study employing a case study approach aims at describing language acquisition of participants attending an in-house training called Business English program, obstacles faced, strategies applied as well as results obtained. The study also provides an overview of two analyses concerning challenges and strategies in adult language acquisition. The findings summarize participants’ profiles, revealing a gender skew towards females and varying levels of confidence despite strong motivation levels. Notably, it highlights that 75% of participants displayed mediocre speaking ability, while 25% exhibited low proficiency. Additionally, 75% had low confidence levels, contrasting with one participant's high confidence. All participants demonstrated strong motivation. Furthermore, improvements in fluency and accuracy skills are evident across participants, with scores increasing by an average of 7.9%. This indicates the effectiveness of instructional strategies in enhancing language proficiency. The analysis underscores the complex interplay between participant characteristics, instructional approaches, and language learning outcomes, offering insights for educators to tailor pedagogical strategies and create supportive environments conducive to adult language acquisition

    PHILIPPINE MSMES AFTER THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW OF PANDEMIC IMPACTS AND COPING STRATEGIES

    The COVID-19 pandemic negatively impacted the economy's flow in the majority of areas across the world. Reduced economic activity due to travel restrictions and lockdowns imposed to stop the virus's spread caused economic recessions in the pandemic-affected areas. MSMEs are the backbone of the Philippines, providing 99.5% of the nation’s business population and 65.10% of the nation's workforce. In addition to dealing with extraordinary economic and social challenges over the past two years, SME preparation for transitioning to a digital and sustainable economy has been necessary. The researcher will use a Systematic Literature Review to assess the transparency and consistency of the screening procedure and the approaches to coping applied by Philippine MSMEs in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. The study will make use of three research guide questions. 1) What are the pandemic risks and their impact on Philippine MSMEs? 2) What coping strategies do Philippine MSMEs use to deal with risks and pandemic risk impacts? According to the review, human movement restrictions (Lockdowns), financial constraints/ revenue losses, operating difficulties, economic crisis and recession, and job losses are impacts of the pandemic on MSMEs.  Furthermore, the study listed four essential coping strategies: digital and technological adoption/adaptation, government financial support/packages, modification of business models, and implications for financial stability (loans).     Integrated Social Cognitive and Social Capital Theory Toward Telemedicine Acceptance During Pandemic Turbulence

    Pupose: This paper investigates the acceptance of telemedicine during the COVID-19 pandemic using an integrated framework of social cognitive theory, social capital, and the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). Method: The research employs a quantitative method through online surveys. The findings indicate that: 1) Self-efficacy is associated with the perception of ease of use of telemedicine. 2) Social capital is related to both the perceived ease of use and usefulness of telemedicine. 3) The turbulent pandemic situation strengthens the intention to use telemedicine.  This study collect 155 respondents and use partial least square for testing hypothesis. Result: All of hypothesis in this research are supported. The results suggests that the implementation of telemedicine should consider social capital, social cognitive aspects, and TAM

    Influence of The Role of Government, Travel Barriers and Social Media Influencers on Visiting Interests With Destination Image as A Mediating Variable Study on Murung Batu Laba Tourism Visitors, Banjar Regency

    Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of government role, travel barriers, and social media influencers on tourists' desire to visit Murung Batu Laba via the medium of destination image. Method: This study used quantitative research methods. A number of statistically significant connections were found between the dependent variables (destination image, social media influencers, government participation, and travel barriers) and the independent variables (interest in visiting the site). Both the destination's reputation and the attention of prospective tourists were directly impacted by social media influencers, according to the data. In contrast, travel limitations have the reverse impact on tourism and the destination's reputation, whereas government participation boosts both. Result: The results showed that destination image mediates the relationship between social media influencers and interest in visiting, as well as between travel hurdles and desire in visiting. This highlights the significance of the destination's image in attracting prospective tourists by mediating the attention of other elements
