NonPeerReviewe

MRAS-based sensorless field oriented controlled axial flux permanent magnet synchronous machine with additional parameter adaptation
The characteristics of a sensorless control method for synchronous machines with a parallel model are investigated, in consideration of additional online parameter adaptation. Using error compensated reference voltage inputs the parallel model’s parameters are adapted to the synchronous machine by comparing the model current output with the measured current values. Thus the adaptation to the reference transfer behavior of the system is accomplished using an implicit method. After describing the difference between the reference and the adaptive model mathematically, the system stability is analysed using Popov's hyperstability condition. An additional stability criterion could be derived from the full machine model. The extension of the sensorless control was achieved through a simultaneous adaptation algorithm accounting for coupling effects caused by the influence of misalignment of the field-coordinates.PeerReviewe
Epidemiological profile of indigenous cancer patients : a retrospective study from a comprehensive Cancer Care Centre in Northern Kerala, India during the period 2016 to 2020
Background and Aims: Cancer is a significant health issue for Indigenous populations worldwide as it is one of the leading causes of illness and death. India has the second largest Indigenous population in the world, however there is a paucity of studies focusing specifically on the cancer epidemiology and treatment adherence among Indigenous population in the country. Thus, the aim of this study is to investigate the epidemiological profile and adherence to the treatment and followup instructions among them.
Materials and Methods: A retrospective study was conducted in a comprehensive cancer care centre in Northern Kerala, India, during the period of 2016 to 2020. The data collection sheets were used to extract the data from the medical records.
Results: A total of 511 Indigenous cancer patients were included in the study with a mean age of 54.53 ±13.67 years. Among them 52% were males and 48% were females. The majority of the population (54%) were illiterate and 74% belonged to low socio-economic group. Fifty-nine percentage of the population had smokeless tobacco consumption. The leading cancer sites were Ca lip and oral cavity (34%), Ca lung (8.41%) and Ca breast (6.84%). Seventy percentage of the patients were diagnosed at advanced TNM stages and 47% were planned for palliative treatment. Majority (86%) followed their treatment plans, and 62% were in active follow-up.
Conclusion: Several socio-economic factors, including high illiteracy rates, low socio-economic status, significant unemployment, and rural residency, create a complex barrier that adversely affects cancer outcomes for this group. Notably, tobacco consumption was high among both men and women, leading to an incidence of Tobacco Related Cancers (TRC). Most cancer cases were diagnosed at an advanced stage, resulting in many patients requiring palliative care. Addressing the modifiable risk factors like tobacco use among the Indigenous population, encouraging early detection, enhancing health literacy, and improving health-seeking behavior can significantly reduce the cancer burden among them. Further extensive research is needed for cancer prevention and control among them
PuzzleBoard : ein neues Kamerakalibriermuster mit Positionskodierung
Accurate camera calibration is a well-known and widely used task in computer vision that has been researched for decades. However, the standard approach based on checkerboard calibration patterns has some drawbacks that limit its applicability. For example, the calibration pattern must be completely visible without any occlusions. Alternative solutions such as ChArUco boards allow partial occlusions, but require a higher camera resolution due to the fine details of the position encoding. We present a new calibration pattern that combines the advantages of checkerboard calibration patterns with a lightweight position coding that can be decoded at very low resolutions. The decoding algorithm includes error correction and is computationally efficient. The whole approach is backward compatible to both checkerboard calibration patterns and several checkerboard calibration algorithms. Furthermore, the method can be used not only for camera calibration but also for camera pose estimation and marker-based object localization tasks.PeerReviewe
De Bruijn tori, also called perfect maps, are two-dimensional periodic arrays of letters drawn from a given finite alphabet, such that each possible pattern of a given shape (m,n) appears exactly once within one period of the torus. It is still unknown if de Bruijn tori of some certain size exist, like e.g. square shaped de Bruijn Tori with odd m=n in {3,5,7} and an even alphabet size k. However, in certain applications like positional coding, sub-perfect maps are sufficient, i.e. one does not need every possible (m,n)-pattern to appear, as long as a sufficient large number of such patterns is captured and every pattern occurs at most once. We show, that given any m=n and a square alphabet size k², one can efficiently construct a sub-perfect map which is almost perfect, i.e. of almost maximal size. We do this by introducing de Bruijn rings, i.e. sub-perfect maps of minimal height, and providing an efficient construction method for them. We extend our results to non-square torus shapes and arbitrary non-prime alphabet sizes.PeerReviewe
