    The Effect of Stock Split on Stock Return, Stock Trading Volume, and Systematic Risk in Companies Listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange

    In the Indonesian capital market, corporate action is commonly used. Public companies adopt corporate activities to improve their performance and benefit their shareholders. One of the corporate actions that companies often carry out is a stock split. The stock split is a corporate action carried out by an issuer to increase the number of shares outstanding. The stock return, stock trading volume, and systematic risk indicators are used to assess the effectiveness of the stock split event. The study was carried out to see the effect of the stock split event regarding whether there were differences in stock returns, stock trading volume, and systematic risk before and after the stock split. This study uses secondary data taken from the official website of the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The sample was selected using a purposive sampling method with certain criteria. The sample in this study amounted to 37 companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange that carried out stock split actions from 2017 to 2020. The results showed a significant difference in abnormal stock returns, stock trading volume, and systematic risk before and after the stock split

    The Impact of Premium Gasoline Price and Income Per Capita on Traffic Accidents: An Evidence from Panel Data Regression

    Accident and safety cannot be separated due to their trade-offs by an individual when carrying out activities. Accident and safety issues are global issues and are being investigated. This study examines the impact of premium gasoline prices and per capita income on traffic accidents in 21 districts and cities in Aceh Province of Indonesia. This study used panel data from five years and 21 districts/cities. This research model uses a random effect model. The results showed that premium gasoline prices negatively affect income per capita and traffic accidents positively. These results fit theoretically. The effect of the price of 0.13 percent and income of 0.96 percent if there is an increase of 1 percent. The impact of income per capita is 7.38 times compared to premium gasoline prices. Then, the elasticity of income approach is elastic while the price is inelastic. The increase in per capita income causes people to buy more private vehicles, so the government needs regulation and socialization of the transfer of private vehicles to public transportation. Then, the police continue to urge the people to be careful in driving and a pioneer in traffic safety

    Determinants of Internet Media Abuse in the workplace using Theory of Planned Behavior

    The usage of internet media is becoming important, and many people worldwide use the internet media as a communication tool. Internet is a medium of information, and communication technologies are highly used to provide a variety of unlimited resources and activities by individual users and organizations. This study is written to determine the effect of internet media abuse in the organization using the Theory of Planned Behavior. The design of this study is a quantitative approach through a survey questionnaire to 127 employees in the Majlis Daerah Marang, Terengganu, Malaysia. The result indicated that internet addiction and perceived need policy significantly correlated with a hobby. Besides that, job satisfaction and productivity have a significant negative effect on hobbies. Also, internet addiction and subjective norms have a significant positive relationship with information. The internet addiction and perceived need policy have a significant positive relationship with transactions. Then, this study also found that job satisfaction has a significant negative effect on transactions among employees in the Majlis Daerah Marang, Terengganu. In conclusion, this study has successfully identified the determinants of internet media abuse in the workplace using the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). This study contributes to internet media abuse and recommendation for organization administration to combat internet media abuse among the employees

    The Effect of Infrastructure and Labor in Agricultural Sector on Agricultural Economic Growth in Aceh Province

    This study focusses on the effect of agricultural infrastructure and agricultural labor on agricultural economic growth rate in Aceh Province. The method used in this study is panel data regression based on districts/cities panel data period 2015-2019. Results of estimation shows that both factors which are agricultural infrastructure and agricultural labor have significant effect toward agricultural economic growth. Agricultural infrastructure found to have a negative effect while agricultural labor has a positive effect on agricultural economic growth. Furthermore, the panel data regression model that has been formed is found to be fit which means that agricultural infrastructure and agricultural labor are considered capable of representing the factors that influence the economic growth rate of agricultural sector in Aceh Province. Based on these findings it is hoped the government will able to formulate a strategic policy that can accelerate the rate of economic growth rate of the agricultural sector in Aceh Province

    The Impact of Foreign Trade Policy on Economic Growth of Aceh Province, Indonesia

    This study analyzes the influence of foreign trade in Aceh province along with inflation, exchange rate, investment, and labor factors on the economic growth rate in Aceh Province. The variables that represent foreign trade are exports and imports. In addition, this study also used a dummy variable in the form of foreign trade policy in the form of reactivation of the Krueng Gukueh port. The analytical model used in this study is multiple linear regression. This analysis model can identify how much influence each independent variable has on the dependent variable to formulate various policy steps to increase the economic growth rate. The results found in this study are exports, imports, and investment have a positive and significant effect on the rate of economic growth of Aceh province. Meanwhile, the factors that have a negative and significant influence on the economic growth rate of Aceh province are the exchange rate and labor. Inflation and foreign trade policies of Aceh province have not had a significant influence on the economic growth rate of Aceh province

    This paper presents a review literature of the factors that influence organisational performance in organisations in private universities. This study focuses on internal control variables, budgeting processes and organisational characteristics as moderating variables. Many private universities in Indonesia are closed or no longer operating due to a lack of internal control in managing universities and inadequate budgeting processes. So, the universities lack funds to carry out their operational activities. The characteristics of higher education leaders are less professional in managing higher education institutions. He/she carried out his leadership so that many universities went bankrupt. Finally, these universities had to be closed due to a shortage of students as the main source of higher education funding. From previous research, many researchers are still researching profit organisations, which is rarely done for non-profit organisations. Besides that, the previous research on organisational performance was measured only from the financial part, while for finance, it was still rare to investigate as a benchmark for organisational performance

    Impacts of Terrorism on Economic Growth and Foreign Direct Investment in Developing Asian Countries: Malaysia, Indonesia and Philippines

    Terrorism is one of the most serious, damaging, and disturbing problems nowadays. Terrorism attacks are intended to apply sufficient pressure on a government so that it grants political and economic concessions. This study aims to investigate the impacts of terrorism on economic growth (GDP) and foreign direct investment (FDI) in Developing Asian Countries: Malaysia, Indonesia, and Philippines. The panel data was collected from World Bank Data Malaysia and the Department of Statistics Malaysia from 1999 to 2016 for each selected country. This study uses the panel data regressions to analyze the data by using the Pooled Ordinary Least Square (POLS), Fixed Effect (FE), and Random Effect (RE). This study showed that gross domestic product and foreign direct investment have a negative relationship with terrorism in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Philippines. The overall research or findings of this study can guide the government to identify the ways to prevent or manage to sustain terrorist attacks without displaying economic growth and foreign direct investment consequences

    The Effect of Farmer\u27s Export, Import, and Exchange Rate on Value-Added of Agricultural Sector in Aceh Province, Indonesia

    As one of the agricultural countries, Indonesia\u27s population is highly dependent on farming for a living. Thus, this study is written to analyze the relationship between farmers\u27 exports, imports, and the exchange rate of farmers on the value-added of the agricultural sector in Aceh Province, Indonesia. This study uses secondary data from the Central Bureau of Statistics of Aceh Province. This study uses quarterly time series data from 2007 to 2021, as many as 60 data series. By using the multiple linear regression model with Ordinary Least Square (OLS), the results show a positive and significant relationship between the increase in the export value and the farmer\u27s exchange rate towards the increase in the value-added of the agricultural sector in Aceh Province. Meanwhile, the imported variable does not show a significant relationship to the value-added agricultural sector in Aceh Province in this study. Taken together, the variables of exports, imports, and farmers\u27 exchange rates significantly affect the agricultural sector\u27s added value in the selected models

    Indonesian Logistics Preferences during COVID-19 Pandemic

    This study aims to identify the critical factors of shipping success and courier services in Indonesia. The study uses a survey questionnaire in Indonesia on the consumer preferences of logistics service consumers, using the location of Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) as the locational preferences. The critical factors consist of ease of use of delivery services; estimated shipments; package delivery location; delivery operational time; availability of packaging services; pricing methods; package guarantee; payment method for shipping costs; ease of use serving tracking; tracking maps; delivery location; delivery operational time; availability of delivery information packages; delivery failed compensation; service scape, corporate image, user image, product image, and price. A total of 150 respondents participated in this study. In conclusion, most consumers use the logistics service for small package delivery. The consumer also did not believe the service provider needed to be available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Nevertheless, they prefer it if the provider provides the shipping day estimation. The results of the rate preference survey, the consumer study reveals that for the safety of the shipping process, providers must charge an additional fee for standard packaging. Also, the consumers are willing to pay more for the warranty of the package protection during the shipping process. Thus, the providers service includes extra packaging based on the package type. Moreover, they need access to track the package in real-time using the provider\u27s application or website. Hence, the courier and all the staff must update the package position during the shipping process

    Examining the Effect of Financial Management, Shopping Behavior on Financial Literacy among University Students

    This study examines the effect of financial management and shopping behavior on financial literacy among Sultan Idris Education University students (UPSI), Malaysia. This study uses data collected through a survey questionnaire. The analysis method used in this study is quantitative, namely descriptive and inferential analyses. The correlation test results found that the financial literacy and financial management of UPSI students have a positive, strong, and significant relationship. While, the relationship between financial literacy and shopping behavior of UPSI students is positive, weak, and insignificant. At the same time, the relationship between financial management and the shopping behavior of UPSI students is positive, weak, and not significant. Regression analysis showed that financial management and shopping behavior could influence financial literacy simultaneously
