Analyzing the Mediating Role of Job Burnout between Work-Life Balance and Job Satisfaction
Get PDFNowadays, the banking industry is one of the catalysts for a country\u27s economic growth as a financial intermediary between parties. One of the banking activities is to collect funds from the public, commonly known as funding. The funds were collected from people who have excess funds by offering various types of savings or savings products. In addition, banks also connect the funds to the public through lending or other forms to improve people\u27s living standards. A bank\u27s success in seeking funds and distributing loans (lending) is generally determined by the quality of human resources. Thus, this study determines the mediating role of job burnout in the relationship between work-life balance and job satisfaction. The study is designed using a quantitative approach through a survey questionnaire. A total of 100 employees of Bank ‘X’ participated across West Kalimantan and Jakarta. The data was analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling - Partial Least Square (SEMPLS). The result indicates that work-life balance significantly affects employee job satisfaction. Also, job burnout affected employee job satisfaction. However, this study found that job burnout does not mediate the relationship between work-life balance and job satisfaction. This study concludes that job burnout does not mediate the relationship between work-life balance and job satisfaction. Still, work-life balance and job burnout have been proven to predict job satisfaction

The Impact of FDI on Innovation in Developing Countries: The Mediating Role of Governance
Get PDFWhile most studies in the existing literature focused on the direct relationship between FDI and innovation, this paper further analyzes whether governance in developing economies mediates this relationship. A 25-year cross-sectional time-series data from 1995 to 2019 were collected from the World Bank Development Indicators and the Worldwide Governance Indicators (2019) databases. This panel dataset was estimated using a system GMM. A novel finding emerged from the investigation: the positive impact of FDI on domestic innovation is mediated by two governance variables: voice and accountability and regulatory quality. This suggests that the impact of FDI on domestic innovation is strengthened when combined with the effects of mediating variables. The results imply that, in the absence of high governance quality, the traditional policy prescription—such as increasing government spending on R&D and education—may not be adequate to promote FDI\u27s innovation spillovers. The findings suggest that governments in developing nations should work to improve the voice & accountability and regulatory quality indicators by ensuring that citizens take part in the decision-making to promote the flow of knowledge and information that fosters innovation. This will help to strengthen the influence of FDI on domestic innovations. In addition, the governments should foster an environment that is welcoming to foreign investment and implement the appropriate regulatory reforms, such as those that strengthen competition protection, property rights protection, and transparency in the operations of the organizations implementing policies
The Effect of Specific Macroeconomic and Internal Company Variables on the Capital Structure of Manufacturing Listed Companies in the Indonesia Stock Exchange
Get PDFExternal and internal factors can affect a company\u27s capital structure. Managers cannot limit the macroeconomic component of external factors, while a company can monitor internal factors and their effects. This study aims to determine the effect of specific macroeconomic variables, namely, Interest Rates, Inflation Rates, GDP, and company internal variables, namely, Return on Assets (ROA), Tangible Assets (TAN), and Firm Size (SIZE) on Capital Structure (DER) of food and beverage sub-sector manufacturing companies in the Indonesia Stock Exchange. This research is associative research, and the data type used is quantitative. The data is obtained from the company\u27s financial statements audited on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the study period. The analytical method used is descriptive analysis and panel data regression. The population of this study is the food and beverage sub-sector manufacturing companies for the period 2017-2021, totaling 62 companies. The sample in this study amounted to 27 companies. The results of this study indicate that simultaneously, Interest Rates, Inflation Rates, GDP, ROA, TAN, and SIZE have a significant effect on DER in food and beverage sub-sector manufacturing companies on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the 2017-2021 period. Partially, the Interest Rate and TAN variables have a positive and insignificant effect on DER. The inflation rate variable positively and significantly affects DER at = 0.1. The SIZE variable has a positive and significant effect on DER. The GDP variable has a negative and insignificant effect on DER. In contrast, the ROA variable positively and significantly affects DER at = 0.1 in food and beverage sub-sector manufacturing companies on the Indonesia Stock Exchange
Examining the Effect of Information Quality and Quantity, Source Credibility on Cognitive Trust and Its Impact on Intention to Adopt Information
Get PDFTechnological development allows consumers to easily share reviews about their opinions, experiences, and feedback on a product or service since the advent of online communication. Word of Mouth (WOM) has evolved into electronic Word of Mouth (eWOM). Information is obtainable from different sources, but despite easy access, some are not useful as high-quality information often coexists with misinformation. This study conceptualizes that individuals adopting the information are influenced by the relationship between information quality, source credibility, and the information quantity with the mediation of cognitive trust of e-commerce visitors. The sample included e-commerce visitors, and the data were collected through the online distribution of questionnaires and face-to-face meetings. A total of 500 samples were considered, and purposive sampling was used. The Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) technique, with the help of the SmartPLS 3 application, was employed to analyze the data. The results showed a correlation between information quality and quantity and the impact of source credibility on the cognitive trust of e-commerce visitors. Also, it revealed the influence of cognitive trust on the intention to adopt information
Investigating the Growth of Bacteria using Double Sigmoid Model with Reparameterization
Get PDFThe growth of an organism can be modeled using a growth curve. However, bacteria\u27s growth pattern differs from other organisms. Bacterial growth is divided into four phases: lag, logarithmic, stationary, and death. The experts re-parameterized the growth curve to match the growth phase of the bacteria. Bacterial growth patterns generally do not show a single sigmoid pattern but form two curves. Therefore, the double sigmoid model is more suitable. This study modeled the growth of the Pseudomonas putida bacteria by observing the optical density of the medium. Model parameters are estimated using the Non-Linear Least Square (NLS) method with the Gauss-Newton algorithm. The modeling results show that the double sigmoid model fits the growth curve of Pseudomonas putida better than the single sigmoid model. The Double Logistic model outperforms all models with the highest adjusted R2 and the smallest RMSE, AIC, and BIC values
Investigating the Image of Architecture Decoration of ShengJing Imperial Palace in LiaoNing Province, China
Get PDFToday, throughout antiquity, myriad ethnic collectives have inhabited Liaoning Province, China, significantly shaping the historical trajectory of the nation and fostering a multitude of esteemed architectural and cultural legacies. ShengJing Imperial Palace is in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, China. ShengJing Imperial Palace is a royal building built in the early Qing Dynasty 500 years ago. The information value shown by its architectural decoration needs to be further developed. This paper takes architectural decoration images as the research content. It uses the methodology of practical aesthetics, conducts field research on ShengJing Imperial Palace, and analyzes the three elements of visual impact form, political decoration, and national practice to obtain a single evident, idealized local decoration image characteristics. In conclusion, the visual layout of the rational representation of the Shengjing Palace building decoration is clear and distinct, and the visual feeling of the subject is strong and full of impact. These characteristics can be summarized as strong qualitative architectural decoration image characteristics. Under the Qing rulers\u27 politically strict ideology, the image experience category of architectural decoration showed ethical characteristics. This study can be a reference for adapting traditional architectural decoration to modern design
The Application of Totem Culture Elements in the Design of Jin Opera Cultural and Creative Products
Get PDFJin opera is one of the well-known local operas in China, commonly known as Shanxi opera. It is also known as Zhongluo opera because it originated in central Shanxi. Jin opera has a long history of culture, and its costumes and patterns are unique visual elements of totem culture. It is to promote the culture of Jin opera and to integrate and develop the culture of Jin opera into public life. Based on the four principles of practicality, emotionality, formal beauty, and artistry of Jin opera, cultural and creative products were proposed by Jin opera scholar Ren Nanan as the design concept to analyze and reorganize the colors and patterns of Jin opera costumes. By analyzing and applying the design principles and concepts of Jin opera costume culture, we analyze the design and feasibility of cultural and creative products of Jin opera culture from three aspects: color, pattern, and program rules, and provide ideas and concepts for the design of cultural and creative products of Jin opera culture, so that its culture can be accepted and loved by young people. Jin opera is one of the most precious traditional arts in China. With the emphasis on cultural inheritance, the role of cultural and creative design is receiving increasing attention, and the artistic and creative design incorporating visual elements of Jin Opera will become increasingly sophisticated

The approach of this study is qualitative, applying Malay aesthetic principles to understand how to design Jewellery in Malay culture. The study finds that traditional Jewellery serves multiple functions, including enhancing the wearer\u27s beauty, expressing social status, and embodying cultural identity. The authors argue that the continued use of traditional Jewellery in Malay women\u27s costumes reflects the enduring importance of cultural heritage and the value placed on maintaining traditional practices in contemporary Malaysian society. The authors found that traditional Jewellery serves multiple functions, including enhancing the wearer\u27s beauty, expressing social status, and embodying cultural identity. The Effect of Organizational Culture and Authentic Leadership on Affective Commitment through Job Satisfaction
Get PDFHuman resources are very important for an organization to achieve any goal. With good HR management, the achievement of organizational goals can be influenced. Skilled human resources are very valuable and cannot be replaced by natural resources, additional capital, or new technology. Therefore, the importance of human resources, both as managers and employees, is in planning, implementing and supervising the organization. Thus, the current study seeks to examine the effect of organizational culture and authentic leadership on job satisfaction and affective commitment of employees of the North Penajam Paser Regency KUKMPERINDAG Service. All 96 employees were participated in this study and collected using simple random sampling technique. The data analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling – Partial Least Square assisted by SmartPLS-3. The result indicates that organizational culture and authentic leadership have significant positive relationship with job satisfaction. Also, this study found that organizational culture and satisfaction work have significant positive relationship with affective commitment. Besides that, this study indicates that authentic leadership does not significant relationship with affective commitment. In addition, this study found that job satisfaction mediates the relationship between authentic leadership and affective commitment. This study concludes that organizational culture has a positive and significant effect on employee job satisfaction. This means that the better the implementation of organizational culture, the more it will be able to encourage employee job satisfaction. Organizational culture has a positive and significant effect on employee affective commitment, this can mean that improving organizational culture is able to encourage employee affective commitment. Authentic leadership has a positive and significant effect on employee job satisfaction. This means that authentic leadership can encourage employee job satisfaction
