    Ethnomedicinal Plants Used for Oral Health in Ramshehar Tehsil of District Solan, Himachal Pradesh

    The present study was conducted in the Ramshehar tehsil of district Solan (H.P.) to record and compile the traditional ethnomedicinal knowledge used by the local inhabitants for oral health care. A total of 40 ethnomedicinal plants belonging to 25 families were reported from the study area. Direct interviews, group discussions, and pre-tested questionnaires from the respondents were used in the documentation of data. Most of the plant species reported from the study area belong to Fabaceae and Moraceae (4 species each), followed by the Euphorbiaceae, Lamiaceae and Rutaceae (3 species each). Maximum plant species collected from the study area were trees (50%), followed by shrubs (35%), herbs (12%) and climbers (3%). The twigs (34%) were the most used plant parts followed by leaves (18%) and latex (14%) for oral health care

    This paper aims to investigate the entrepreneurial traits of Indian students enrolled in the Application of IT in Agriculture ELP (Experiential Learning Programme) at Siksha "O" Anusandhan University. Additionally, it seeks to determine the relationship between the students\u27 entrepreneurial traits and socio-economic characteristics. Three entrepreneurial traits—decision-making ability, leadership ability, and information-seeking behavior—are incorporated in this study to establish the student entrepreneurial profile. Utilising pre-tested questionnaire with a 3-point Likert scale, convenient sampling was employed to get the results. Information was gathered from the Siksha \u27O\u27 Anusandhan University. A total of 34 surveys were sent via Google Form to all university students enrolled in the Application of IT in Agriculture ELP programme, and 16 of those surveys were determined to be appropriate for the investigation. Majority of the students demonstrated a medium level of leadership, information-seeking behaviour, and decision-making skill. Only undergraduate students with an ELP background in the Application of IT in Agriculture are eligible for this study, and the sample consisted of only one university. It is possible to do additional research with students from various courses and streams. Studies at different universities might be carried out to compare the degrees of entrepreneurial traits among the students. This study offers a deeper understanding of the course materials that work best for encouraging students to develop entrepreneurial traits and the materials that should be added to further develop the potential of entrepreneurs

    HEMATOLOGICAL VARIATIONS AND ASSESMENT OF HEAVY METALS IN SINDH SPARROW (PASSER PYRRHONOTUS) AS A BIOINDICATOR IN PUNJAB AREAS OF PAKISTAN

    Sindh sparrows, prevalent in Sindh region of Pakistan, are non-migratory birds abundant in human-inhabited areas globally, except Antarctica. Given their close association with human settlements, these birds serve as crucial indicators for biological monitoring in regions affected by pollution. This study focused on assessing the hematological parameters and heavy metal concentrations in various organs of Sindh sparrows in the Punjab regions of Pakistan. The collected blood samples underwent analysis for hematological indices and heavy metal concentrations. The results indicated variability in hematological analysis of sparrows. Fluctuations were observed in the concentrations of different heavy metals, with significant differences in zinc and iron, while chromium, cadmium, and nickel concentrations showed non-significant differences. The patterns of heavy metal accumulation revealed higher concentrations of chromium, nickel, and iron in the liver, contrasting with the cadmium and zinc in kidneys. In conclusion, significant correlations were observed among the concentrations of Zinc, Chromium, Cadmium, Nickel, and Iron in kidney, liver, and muscles of both male and female Sindh sparrows. The findings underscore the need for further comprehensive studies to assess heavy metal accumulation in birds, highlighting the urgency to address environmental pollution that poses risks to avian species and human populations worldwide

      Geographical epidemiology has been description of geographical patterns of mortality rates as part of descriptive epidemiological investigations, with the goal of developing theories regarding disease causation. Disease mapping, disease clustering, and ecological analysis are the predominant methods of geographical epidemiology, having close relationships between them. For describing the transmission of an illness within a geographically dispersed population, many models incorporating frameworks based on individuals, networks, stochastic processes, as well as partial derivative equations have been made. However, these models need a large amount of information and even a large amount of computational performance. Keeping this in mind, we have tried to create deterministic models formulated as partial differential equations to model spatial epidemics in spatial domains. This has been by assuming two types of population, the susceptible population, and the infective population, considering the functions of space and time. COVID-19 is a global tragedy, with India likely to be among the most hit. The fluctuation in the dispersion of COVID-19-related well-being results is most likely connected with numerous basic factors, like segment, financial, or natural poisons related factors

    Effect Of 6 Weeks Of Core Strengthening Exercises On Pulmonary Function Test In Patients With Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.

    BACKGROUND: Few studies have evaluated the effects of core strengthening exercises on various pulmonary conditions. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the effects of core strengthening exercises using a Pressure Biofeedback Unit (PBU) with breathing exercises on Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) in patients with Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).OBJECTIVE:  This study aimed to compare core strengthening exercises with PBU along with breathing exercises and breathing exercises alone on Pulmonary Function Test (PFT).METHODS: Sixteen patients with mild to severe COPD based on PFT reports were assigned to either the exercise group (EG) - core strengthening exercise with PBU along with breathing exercises or the control group (CG) - breathing exercises. All participants underwent PFT, core strength test, COPD assessment test (CAT), and MMRC dyspnea grading pre and post to intervention. The intervention protocol for EG was 3 days/week for 6 weeks which was provided in Pulmonary rehabilitation setup of D.Y. Patil Hospital, Navi Mumbai, and for CG was 5 days/week for 6 weeks through tele- rehabilitation. The results obtained were analyzed using Paired ‘t’ test for dependent measures, the Unpaired ‘t’ test for independent measures, and ‘Z’ test for qualitative data with a significance threshold of p<0.05.RESULTS: There were 8 participants in each group. Both EG and CG showed no significant effects of protocol post 6 weeks on PFT values. Comparison between EG and CG shows a higher value in CG for FEV 1 with p=0.0002 and FEV 1 /FVC with p=0.0001 in post 6 weeks as well as in baseline. No significant difference was noted between both groups for the CAT score. Significant improvement was noted in the core strength test with p=0.0001 and MMRC with p=0.0001 post 6 weeks for EG. CONCLUSION: Results obtained from the study suggest that core strengthening exercise with PBU along with breathing exercises has no superior effects in comparison with breathing exercises alone on Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) in patients with COPD.   &nbsp

    Cardiovascular Diseases Risk Reduction And Lifestyle Modification:Cross Sectional Ansalysis Of Patient Responses.

    A decrease in cardiovascular event risk with a decrease in total and LDL – cholesterol level is termed as “cholesterol paradox” or “risk factor reversal”. Cardiovascular risk does not have a linear relationship between LDL – cholesterol levels, and other substantial risk factors of cardiovascular events are being disregarded.The aim of this study is, to identify modifiable risk factors of cardiovascular events other than those well proved to cause dyslipidemia. A cross-sectional study was conducted with 652 participants in a tertiary care hospital. Patients were grouped into two, based on the history of cardiovascular events. Demographics and patient responses captured using pre-validated questionnaires were analyzed. 5mL blood samples were collected by venipuncture and lipid profile was estimated. Association between cardiovascular events and explanatory variables. was determined using Chi square test and Odds ratio at 95% confidence intervals. Higher risk of CV events was found among smokers 0.232 [0.144 – 0.373]. Consumption of white sugar, refined oil, processed cold beverages and fast food products increased CV risk respectively. Moreover, total cholesterol, LDL-C and triglycerides were found to decrease after one year of counselling the patients. The classical hypothesis of dyslipidemia induced atherosclerosis may not be the predominant cause of CV events. Herein, we report no association between high fat diet and CV risk while we observed higher risk in consumers of refined and ultra processed food products. However, significant control of cholesterol was observed in patients who shifted to Unrefined food products.

In order to optimize the expected lifespan of medical devices and to ensure that it is accessible and in great condition when patient care is provided, lifecycle management is crucial. Presently, a number of obstacles prevent wearable technologies from being widely used in healthcare settings. Devices will become increasingly capable and an essential tool in our tools for cardiovascular practise as sensor and computing technology advance. For the purpose of ensuring their efficacy and safety, these devices must be regulated through evaluation frameworks and sufficient regulatory oversight procedures

    Effects Of Yogic Eye Exercises On Eye Fatigue In Computer Users Of Central India

    This study aimed to explore the impact of yogic eye exercises on reducing eye fatigue among computer users. Employing a pre-post experimental design, 30 participants aged 20-40 were selected using convenience sampling, with 15 individuals assigned to both the exercise and control groups. The yogic eye exercise regimen involved 60-minute sessions twice daily for 120 days (4 weeks), encompassing 10 specific steps including palming, blinking, sideways viewing, rotational viewing, and guided relaxation techniques. Eye fatigue was assessed using a validated questionnaire designed to evaluate ocular fatigue. This study contributes to understanding the potential benefits of yogic eye exercises in alleviating eye fatigue among computer users. Top of Form Result: The measurements from the exercise group demonstrated a notable reduction in eye fatigue scores compared to the control group. Conclusion: These results suggest that the implementation of yogic eye exercises has the potential to diminish eye fatigue scores in undergraduate nursing student
