    Lightweight Small Arms Technologies (LSAT) program is a funded program by the U.S. Joint Service Small Arms Program. The program aims at reducing the weight of small arms and their ammunition. Tactical concepts and the research activities on previous arms have delivered lighter arms and resulted in decrease of soldier lethality. The program developed Light machine gun and its ammunition. This took extensive simulation work before a prototype was developed.  Further to that work on previous technologies was on High Ignition Temperature Propellant (HITP). The designers have put relentless efforts for projectile improvements the technology. This has resulted out lighter ammunition like bullets with higher lethal calibre. A demand for Use of electronics in rounds counter, Laser for sighting and Target acquisition has proved a future to have a much smaller but powerful weapons.  Make in India program has germinated a concept of developing such automated arms, ammunition which facilitates a vast reduction in soldiers carrying loads.  This reduces strain associated to weapon logistics and increasing mobility.     Background of study: Varicose vein has disturbed humans since ancient days as a chronic disorder. According to the current statistics given by the Express health care, approximately 2.7 million people worldwide suffer with varicose veins. If left untreated and undiagnosed, varicose veins can end up with pooling of blood in the venous system and further complication Objective: To assess the knowledge of staff nurses regarding risk factors and preventive measures of varicose vein. Methods: A quantitative research approach with a non-experimental descriptive survey research design was used to select 60 staff nurses working in the ICUs using convenience sampling method. The questionnaire were checked for completeness, cleaned manually and entered in to Epi- Data version 4.2. Then the data was transferred in to SPSS version 21.0 for further analysis. Descriptive statistics were carried out. Finally checked association between dependent and independent variables. Result: showed that 16 (26.6%) staff nurses had good knowledge regarding prevention of varicose vein, 34 (56.6%) had Average knowledge regarding prevention of varicose vein, and 10 (16.7%) had poor knowledge regarding prevention of varicose vein. There is significant association between education status with p value <0.05 level of significant. Conclusion:Approximately only half of the study participants had adequate knowledge regarding risk factors and preventive measures of varicose vein. Hence it is recommended that extensive educational sessions to be conducted for further enhancement of awareness of staff nurses related to prevention and management of varicose vein

The global population is increasing on a daily basis. The increasing demand within the agriculture industry has necessitated the collective enhancement of plant cultivation and field productivity. This paper emphasizes the significance of effectively managing the crop during its initial growth phase as well as during the harvesting era. Image processing and artificial neural networks are employed as distinct methodologies for detecting illnesses on leaves. When capturing images using drones, the resulting images undergo a process of segmentation and transformation, resulting in the identification of three distinct vectors that represent diseases.     India is home to approximately 77 million people with diabetes, and these numbers are predicted to increase to 125 million by 2045. Approximately one in five adults are now estimated to have diabetes in India. Most are diagnosed with type 2 diabetes during their working age, with some diagnosed only after developing complications. Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is a micro-vascular complication of diabetes that can progress without symptoms to vision-threatening diabetic retinopathy (VTDR). If left untreated, VTDR can result in irreversible visual loss Objectives: To assess the prevalence of Diabetic Retinopathy and its associated factors among diabetic employee.  Methodology: Quantitative research approach and descriptive study design was adopted for this study. The population selected for the study was diabetic RSP employees in the age group of 30-60 years. Samples are diabetic RSP employees within the age group of 30- 60 years who is residing in Rourkela steel town ship and who met the inclusion criteria. Result and Findings: In relation to the demographic variable of the participants (Table-1) it was observed that   44 (88%) paricipants were male and 6 (12%) were female. 16(32%) males and 2 (4%) females were suffering from Diabetes Retinopathy. With regards to glycemic control 5(10%) respondents had good glycaemic control and 45 (90%) had poor glycaemic control. 2(4%)  from good glycaemic control and 16 (32%) participants from poor glycemic control had DR. Conclusion: Study findings highlights that diabetic person need to have regular checkup and early diagnosis of this complication may save the vision

    Formulation Development & Invitro Evaluation Of Felbamate Nanosuspensions By Using Anti Solvent Precipitation And Ultrasonic Method

    Abstract   The Felbamate nanosuspension formulation was prepared by using the anti-solvent precipitation and ultrasonic method. In this work the polymers like HPMC K4M, Poloxamer 188.Polyvinyl alcohol, Polyethylene Glycol 400, as anti-solvent acetone was used. total eight formulations were prepared by using different composition of the polymers based on the prepared formulations (F1 – F8) were evaluated for Drug content, Solubility determination, In vitro drug release study, ATR-FTIR spectroscopy, Particle size determination and poly dispersity index, Zeta potential determination and Morphology characterization by scanning electron microscopy. All the formulations were evaluated for drug content which was in the range 90.15 & to 98.95 %The solubility determination of all formulations in phosphate buffer pH 6.8 was found to be in the range of 0.0156 mg/ml to 0.0375 mg/ml. The results showed that the solubility of formulation was found to be higher in F1 (0.031 mg/ml) compared with other formulations. The solubility of all formulations improved (from insoluble to slightly soluble) compared to pure drug of Felbamate. The in vitro release was carried out for all formulations. The results showed that as the concentration of polymer was increased, the percentage drug release was decreased. Optimized formulations showed 98.69% and 96.49% drug release within 120 minutes, but pure drug released upto 22.46% only. The release rate kinetic data for the best as a F1 formulation showed that the formulation provided good linearity was observed with the zero order (R2 = 0.9), the zero-order kinetics explains the good release of the prepared nanosuspension over the period of 120 minutes. The data were fitted into the Korsmeyer-Peppas equation which showed good linearity and the slope of the Korsmeyer-Peppas plot (n= 0.969) were found to be more than 0.45 indicating the diffusion mechanism is Case II transpor

    Laboratory Culture Of Selected Freshwater Zooplankton Species

    The present study was undertaken to standardize culture methods for native freshwater zooplankton species under captive conditions, to achieve this the selected species of zooplankton available in the local freshwater bodies were collected and bred under laboratory conditions. The species selected for culture were individuals from rotifer group, cyclops & Lecane inermis. The cultures were designed in two different methods viz polyculture, this group consisted of crustaceans like cyclops, rotifers like Branchionus sps, protozoans like Paramecium, another culture was monoculture, in which two species of zooplankton viz Eucyclop serrulatus and Lecane inermis were maintained separately. The polycultures were maintained in two sets one being fed with yeast and another with bacterial culture(curd). The replica maintained on yeast showed good results in comparison to the one fed with bacterial culture, care was taken to maintain the appropriate temperature and humidity of 27± 2°c and 75% respectively in the culture rooms. Along with this monoculture of Eucyclop serrulatus was undertaken this species grew well when fed with bacterial culture comparatively when fed with yeast. Further monoculture of Lecane inermis was subjected to two different volumes (200ml and 2000ml), and were fed with algae for 20days, it was noted that higher volume of water aided in the reproductive success and it was high in 2000ml compared to the other volume. Lecane species are recently been used in Waste Water Treatment (WWT) process and their culture in laboratory is crucial for commercial supply of these species. The zooplankton are proven to be the best live feed in aquaculture practices, so this work was an attempt to culture them under captivity and supply for commercial aquaculture needs hence emphasizing the entrepreneurship opportunities in this sector as well

    Vata Vyadhi is the term which is applied to the specific disorders produced by vata.. The individual whose body has uninterrupted vata( air) circulation, a person who has a natural Vata Dosha and all the vata( Prana, udana, Smana, Vyana, Apana vata) in their body are in their proper locations can live a hundred years1 Hence, there are five variations in vata Prana, Udana, Samana, Vyana and Apana. This air, which is divided into five sections, moves each portion of the body well and continuously in its designated location2. The term used to describe the particular illnesses caused by vata is Vata Vyadhi. There exist two categories of diseases3. Samanya: The all-encompassing one, resulting from a different Dosha Nanatmaja -The unique one, which is solely brought about by vata through certain anomalous qualities, Ruksha (Dryness), Laghu (Coldness), Shita (cold), khara (rough), Sukshma (subtle), Chala (constant), vishada (clearness) are characteristics of Vata4. The term used to describe the particular illnesses caused by vata is Vata Vyadhi. The illnesses impair the functions of Sira (blood vessels), Sanayu (ligaments), and Kandara (tendons) and impact the Madhyma Roga marga (Marma, Asthi, and Sandhi)5. Panchakarma treatment to reduce the illness by reducing the Ekanga Vata symptoms. The primary complaints of a 50-year-old male patient were weakness in his Right upper and Right lower limb, unable to work by Right hand and Right leg, difficulty in speaking. He took therapy from many Allopathic medicines but he did not get much improvement. In the end, the patient was admitted to our institute for treatment and the patient experienced roughly 70% alleviation in his illness symptoms
