    A Review On Solar Keratosis: Diagnosis, Treatment & Prevention.

    Actinis Keratosis, more commonly known as Solar Keratosis, are cutaneous scaly lesions occurring on the sun exposed parts of the body and are caused due to increased cumulative sun exposure over a long period of time. Generally observed in fair skin people and people who have induced immunosuppression due to receiving certain treatments or therapies, Solar Keratosis are characterized by chromatic cell dysplasia. Although the diagnosis of Keratosis is done clinically, it is possible that other skin lesions can be mistaken for Solar Keratosis and vice versa. The ideal treatment  for solar keratosis aims at detection and clearance of both clinical and sub-clinical lesions across the entire cancerous field. The treatment of Solar Keratosis is carried out by two methods: physical method & topical therapy. Physical methods include removal of lesions by methods such as cryotherapy, curettage and photo dynamic therapy, whereas the topical therapy includes usage of NSAIDS and anti tumour drugs. Fundamental to treatment of solar keratosis is usage of high SPF sunscreen, which is also known to reduce UV induced keratinocyte cell mutation and decrease the immunosuppressive effect of sunlight. The objective of present article is to provide a comprehensive review on solar keratosis, discussing its causes, features, diagnosis, available treatment methods and preventive measures for it.     Protective and antidote effect of Foeniculum vulgare against Sodium Arsenite induced hepatotoxicity and testicular toxicity in Charles Foster rats

    Arsenic poisoning in groundwater is the most common environmental pollutant, which is leading to serious pollution worldwide. Chronic arsenic exposure from drinking water to humans causes major public health-related issues. The present study was conducted to investigate the antidote effects of Foeniculum vulgare (Fennel) against arsenic-induced hepatotoxicity and testicular toxicity in Charles Foster rats. In the present study, twenty-four male Charles Foster rats (120±5gm) were divided into four Groups (n=6), where control Group-I received a normal diet and water; Group - II and Group - III received sodium arsenite (8 mg per kg body weight per day) for 90 days. Group III was left with a normal diet and water for the next 60 days for auto-recovery. The group IV rats were administered Foeniculum vulgare (Funnel) hydroxyl ethanolic seed extract at a dose of 150 mg per kg body weight for 60 days in a 90-day pre-treated sodium arsenite group (8 mg per kg body weight). After complete dose duration, all the treated animals were sacrificed the same day for haematological, biochemical, hormonal, and histopathological studies. In the arsenic treated rats, there were significant (p<0.001) changes in serum levels of SGPT, SGOT, urea, uric acid and creatinine as well as in haematological parameters. And there was also decease in the sperm count and sperm motility, accompanied by an increased incidence of sperm abnormalities and hormonal imbalances leading to infertility. In contrast, after the administration of F. vulgare seeds hydroxy-ethanolic extract to arsenic-treated rats, significant (p<0.001) improvements were observed in hepatic and renal parameters as well as haematological parameters. In the arsenic-intoxicant rat, after administration of F. vulgare seeds hydroxyl ethanolic extract, there was a significant (p<001) reduction in the arsenic concentration in blood, liver, and kidney tissues as well as serum LPO. The histopathological study also showed the F. vulgare seeds hydroxy-ethanolic extract significantly restored the cellular integrity of testicular cells, leading to their normal functioning against arsenic-induced toxicity

    Amlapitta is among the most prevalent illnesses in the community. Every age group, every class, and every community experience it. The term "amlapitta corelated with hyperacidity" describes a group of symptoms brought on by an imbalance between the proximal intestine\u27s and stomach\u27s acid-secreting processes and the defences that keep them safe. Acid secreted by the stomach is typically necessary for digestion. Acidity is the term for the condition that arises when the stomach produces too much acid. Because amlapitta develops from the vitiation of Kapha Pitta Doshas, according to our Acharyas, it is treated by Pitta Shaman along with Vamana and Virechana. For the treatment of Amlapitta, Swamarg Chikitsta is described. In Ayurveda, Urdwarg Amplapitta, Vidagdhajeerna, Samapitta Lakshanas, and Pittaja Grahani Lakshana can all be used to explain hyperacidity. This indicates a reduction in symptoms including flatulence, nausea, indigestion, burning in the retrosternum, and acid reflux eructation.With particular reference to Dyspepsia or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Laghu Sutshekhar Rasa, Avipattikar Churna, and Patoladi kwatha, in conjunction with lifestyle and food change, offered significant improvement in Amlapitta symptoms. &nbsp

    Research in Physical Education and Sports is going on since centuries back. Scientists are engaged in unveiling various facets of sports training. Apart from biomechanics, sports psychology, sports training and many others exercise physiology occupies a significant position. Research related to various bodily organs and systems and their relationship with physical activities has been attracting the researchers continuously. So far, the recent studies in the field of Physical Education and Sports Science are concerned a good number of scholars are focusing towards the area of pollution and their impact on the health and fitness of athletes. Some are suggesting for use of face mask during sports training, particularly when the athletes are getting much more exposed to areas with higher air pollution. The use of mask became more prevalent and crucial during the 2020 pandemic. Men started thinking more about the use of face masks, their positive as well as ill effects as a whole. At this juncture the scholar being an athlete by passion and physical educationist by profession settled with the topic comparison of endurance running of varsity males with and without mask. Purpose: The key purpose of the study was to locate the difference on endurance performance running of varsity male with and without face mask. Methodology: To accomplish the study the scholar selected 30 varsity males between the age group 20 to 25. So far, the design of the study it was experimental in nature composed of a pretest followed by a post one. The scholar incorporated Cooper Test i.e. 12 mins run and walk to assess the endurance performance of the subjects. As an ethical part the scholar also prepared a consent form and got filled by the subjects prior to their taking part in the experimentation. Conclusion: From data analysis it was revealed that the average distance covered by the varsity males wearing mask was 2223.30 mts. and the average distance covered by them without mask was 2366.63 mts respectively. The scholar further computed inferential statistics and from which it was discovered that the performance of the boys was significantly better without mask. &nbsp

    Effect Of Caulerpa Scalpelliformis Against Invasive Fungal Pathogens From Periyathalai Coastal Waters, Tuticorin District, Tamilnadu, India

    Fungi cause diseases in a variety of marine animal hosts. The need for new antifungal agents arises from the rising prevalence of invasive fungal infections (IFI) and the ineffectiveness, severe side effects, and high mortality of the current antifungal agents. The present study aims to assess Caulerpa scalpelliformis seaweed extract\u27s antifungal efficacy against human fungal infections. Using methanol solvents, the antifungal activity of marine macroalgae C.scalpelliformis was assessed against Candida albicans, Aspergillus fumigatus, Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus flavus, and Cryptococcus neoformans. C. scalpelliformis showed strong fungal activity against A. fumigatus, A. niger, and A. flavus compared to C. albicans and C. neoformans, similar to the positive control drug Amphotericin B in the current study.This is the first report from Tuticorin\u27s Periyathalai coast. These results point to the use of green seaweed, C. scalpelliformis methanol extract as a natural antibiotic in conjunction with synthetic antibiotics, which has paved the way for the development of new anti-aspergillus, anti-cryptococcal, and anti-candidal compounds

    Phytoremedial Effect Of Ocimum sanctum Against Arsenic Induced Toxicity In Charles Foster Rats

    Globally, 300 million people worldwide are exposed to groundwater arsenic poisoning in the recent time, while an estimated 10 million population are exposed to arsenic poisoning in Bihar (India). The arsenic contamination in ground water has caused serious health hazards in the exposed population. The typical symptoms of arsenicosis are observed in the exposed population mostly skin manifestations such as hyperkeratosis, melanosis, loss of appetite, neuro-behavioral disorders etc. Hence, the present study aims to develop novel drug discovery against arsenic induced toxicity in rat models. In the present study treatment groups received sodium arsenite orally at the dose of 8 mg/kg body weight daily for 90 days followed by administration of Ocimum sanctum (Tulsi) seed extract at the dose of 500 mg/ kg body weight daily by gavage method for 60 days. Their biochemical levels like liver and kidney function tests were assayed and were found with elevated levels. Furthermore, their free radical assessment such as lipid peroxidation levels were assayed which was also found to be many folds higher. Furthermore, the arsenic concentration in the tissue of liver and kidney was significantly very high. But, after the administration of ethanolic seed extract of Ocimum sanctum, there was significant restoration in the biochemical and lipid peroxidation levels.  Moreover, there was also reduction in the arsenic content in the liver and kidney tissues of rats. The phytoremedial effect of this novel plant (Ocimum sanctum) denotes that it possesses antidote effect against arsenic induced toxicity

    Characterization Of Microbial Contaminants In Drinking Water Systems_ Insights From Bikaner Zone

    Access to safe drinking water is a critical public health challenge, especially in developing nations like India. Pathogenic microorganisms contaminating potable water pose serious health risks. This study aimed to conduct a comprehensive microbiological and physiochemical examination of various drinking water sources in the Bikaner district of Rajasthan. Water samples were collected from urban households, rural households, public taps, borewells, canals, rivers, ponds, and other sources across Bikaner. Standard microbiological and analytical chemistry techniques were employed to isolate, identify and characterize microorganisms present, as well as analyze key physiochemical parameters. The microbiological analysis revealed high levels of total coliforms, fecal coliforms, and pathogenic bacteria like Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, Pseudomonas, Citrobacter and Aeromonas across all water samples. Surface water sources like rivers and ponds showed the highest microbial contamination, exceeding WHO limits by over 1000-fold. Groundwater from borewells had comparatively lower but still unacceptable microbiological quality. Tap water also contained coliforms indicating inadequate treatment and post-supply contamination. In-depth comparative studies were conducted on the isolated bacterial strains to characterize their physiological, biochemical, genetic and pathogenic properties. Antibiotic resistance, virulence factors, biofilm formation and environmental persistence of these waterborne pathogens were investigated. Molecular microbiology techniques like PCR genotyping were used to identify species and strain types. The physiochemical analysis examined parameters like pH, turbidity, dissolved oxygen, chlorine residuals, toxic metals and other chemicals. Most sources violated drinking water standards for multiple parameters. Surface waters showed high turbidity, low dissolved oxygen and presence of heavy metals. Even groundwater sources had physicochemical quality issues due to geogenic and anthropogenic contamination. This multi- dimensional study provides comprehensive baseline data on the microbiological and chemical quality of drinking water available to communities in Bikaner region. The findings confirm widespread contamination by fecal bacteria, other pathogens and unsafe physiochemical traits across all sources tested. This information will guide efforts to mitigate public health risks through proper treatment interventions, water safety plans, and other preventive measures for ensuring access to potable water in this water-stressed area
