    Get PDF
In this paper we illustrate our bioinformatics system destined for an automatic insect classification in different taxonomic categories corresponding to different levels of precision according to their morphological characteristics such as: size; color; antennae; wings; mouthpart; etc. Our main goal is to automate the research; classification and to create an exhaustive database of insects in order to create a common directory of insects to save significant research time and facilitate classification. Our system is considered as a bioinformatics system, it uses artificial intelligence techniques to create an inference engine able to automatically recognize and classify a new insect. It also uses database creation techniques to create the knowledge and fact bases necessary for the proper functioning of the inference engine. Due to its interactive graphic interface, and by guiding its user, step by step, the system starts with the introduction of the morphological characteristics of the insect and the result is to automatically classify the insect in the database in the appropriate species. Our classification is focused on Hymenoptera precisely on the Apidae family, we have given a detailed classification of the Apidae family with its three subfamilies: Apinae, Xylocopinae and Nomadini. Our system is implemented completely in JAVA programming language using phpMyadmin as a database management system

    Get PDF
The two main avenues via which agricultural produce is gathered, distributed, and resold in rural India are the regulated markets set up by the State Governments and the sporadic marketplaces that have developed naturally and are unregulated. Under the auspices of extensive regulations that have been formulated and amended periodically by the corresponding state Agricultural Produce Marketing Regulation Act, agricultural produce market committees have been established to promote equitable trade. Since their inception, regulated markets have assisted in reducing market disadvantages; yet, the competitive market structure was not well-foreseen by their legal framework. In an environment of liberalized trade, this paves the way for the market committee to become more manageable and sustainable. Given the dependence of other sectors on agriculture, India has viewed it as a valuable tool for economic progress. The regulated markets are regarded as accountable establishments that carry out all the tasks associated with the selling of products while considering the interests of all final consumers as a whole. The current paper highlights Indian agriculture, with a particular emphasis on the regulated agricultural marketing system and its development, status, and prospects. The report also emphasizes the difficulties and impact of a regulated market on farmers\u27 socioeconomic standing. At the study\u27s conclusion, a number of restrictions that either directly or indirectly impacted the farmers\u27 socioeconomic standing were mentioned. To comprehend the link between the dependent and independent variables, a variety of statistical methods were employed. To arrive at the ultimate outcome, an ex post facto research design was mostly employed.

Microbes present in the vermicompost plays a major role in exhibiting the beneficiary effect which results in significant plant growth and yield. In this study, we aim to analyze the microbial load present in the vermicompost which is prepared from different medicinal plants including Phyllanthus emblica, Senna auriculata, Justicia adhatoda, Annona squamosa at two different ratios of preparation with cow dung. To perform this, microbial load was evaluated before and after vermicompost formation. After completion, it was observed that fungal and actinomycetes loads were significantly higher in vermicompost samples prepared from Phyllanthus emblica plant samples. Concerning bacterial load, it was observed that vermicompost samples prepared from Senna auriculata showed the maximum load. These data provide us the information about the importance of the vermicompost with different medicinal plants in increasing the microbial load concentration which further enables plant growth and yield. It is also noted that the ratio of 1:2 gave better microbial load results than the 1:1 ratio sample. These datasets provide us with the basic knowledge to improvise the field of the vermicomposting process with the potential usage of medicinal plants

Review: Beneficial Effect Of Bark Extract Of Terminalia Arjuna On Human Heart

    Get PDF
One of the greatest agents for cardioprotection is Terminalia arjuna. Arjuna has long been regarded as the go-to plant for treating a variety of heart-related issues. It works wonders for nourishing the heart and its muscles. It is highly beneficial for the cardiac muscles\u27 normal contraction and relaxation. Maintaining a healthy heartbeat is another benefit. Additionally, it helps to increase blood density and is particularly effective in constricting blood capillaries, which is crucial for the heart\u27s normal function. It is also useful for widening blood vessels, works wonders for clotting blood in the event of an injury, and is generally necessary to keep blood at the right thickness. This really aids in stimulating the heart to function at its peak efficiency. This coagulation property is achieved because it has an astringent taste, or kshaya rasa. According to a study, a 70% alcoholic extract of Terminaliaarjuna caused peripheral hypotension, corroborating the plant\u27s traditional use in traditional cardiovascular medicine. Adrenergic ß 2-receptor agonistic or direct action on the heart may be the cause of the observed effect. Comprehensive research on the active ingredients is required, as this could yield fresh perspectives on cardiovascular medications. According to a 1988 study in the Journal of Research in Education in Indian Medicine, arjuna possesses diuretic, cardio tonic, and antihypertensive qualities. The International Journal of Crude Drug Research has released information on the hypolipidaemic characteristic. It has been demonstrated to raise HDL levels. That\u27s what the Indian Medical Gazette (1992) said. Patients with angina who take a 500 mg dose of Arjuna Bark extract along with other medications for three months report significant improvements in their treadmill test and exercise tolerance with no negative side effects. Arjuna has coenzyme Q10 as well. Patients with heart conditions are prescribed this Coenzyme Q10 in order to prevent heart attacks. Its combination effects—such as the hypolipidemic effect and dosage-dependent reductions in blood pressure and heart rate—were responsible for its beneficial cardiovascular effect

The aim of the present research was to evaluate the probiotic activity of Lactobacillus acidophilus in broilers of the ARBOR ACRE strain. The probiotic was administered in drinking water at a rate of 50 ml per 1000 chicks every 7 days during the breeding period. Growth performance, the effect on endogenous flora and on the structure of the gut and the bursa of Fabricius, as well as the immune response, were recorded at 20 and 37 days. We evaluated the effectiveness of Lactobacillus acidophilus added to broiler diets, a zootechnical study (mortality, growth rate, index of growth) and a clinical survey, homogeneity and antibody production. Zootechnical studies revealed that the best growth performances were achieved by the probiotic-treated chickens, with significant differences (p<0.05).  which concluded with a positive effect on zootechnical performance compared with the controls. Similarly, the study of the organism\u27s reaction showed a good response from the birds supplemented with Lactobacillus acidophilus in the animal\u27s digestive tract, with interactions with the endogenous flora, compared with the control subjects (P<0.05). Antibody titration showed that the Lactobacillus acidophilus-based diet had a positive effect on antibody levels, resulting in a coverage rate higher than the average indicated by the baseline (1000-2500) and also higher than the control batch antibodies. &nbsp

Based on the provided context, a series of new indole-hydrazone derivatives were synthesized and their structures were determined through elemental and spectral studies. These synthesized compounds were then tested for their anti-inflammatory activity using carrageenan-induced oedema in albino rats, with indomethacin as the standard drug. The synthesized compounds exhibited a reduction in oedema formation ranging from 72.3% to 89.3%, surpassing the inhibition observed with indomethacin (46%). Additionally, the compounds were evaluated for their anticancer activity against the MCF-7 breast cancer cell line at a dose of 100µg/ml. Compounds 2f and 2j demonstrated mild anticancer activity with 61% and 68% inhibition, respectively, compared to doxorubicin. Furthermore, molecular docking studies were conducted using the Molego virtual docker program, which revealed that all prepared compounds exhibited high docking scores against both cox-1 and cox-2. The docking scores and binding energy correlated well with the pharmacological results. Lastly, the drug likeness and bioactivity of the compounds were predicted using Molinspiration software, indicating that all new compounds possess favorable drug likeness and bioactivity scores

The conventional medical system makes extensive use of Scoparia dulcis L. to treat liver conditions. The entire plant  of Scoparia dulcis Linn. is thoroughly pharmacognomically evaluated in this work, including morphology, microscopy, physicochemical screening, and phytochemical screening. To find the phytochemicals in the S. dulcis methanol leaf extract that could be responsible for its acceptance and use, phytochemical screening was done. The anti-inflammatory properties of the extract were further examined in relation to carrageenan-induced paw edema in Wistar albino rats. The findings of extracting Scoparia dulcis L. show the presence of several components. After two hours of carrageenan administration, the 200 mg/kg and 300 mg/kg hydroalcoholic extract of Scoparia dulcis L. effectively prevented paw edema. This might be the result of a stronger inhibitory effect of the lower dose on the synthesis of bradykinin and prostaglandin. The highest percentage of edema inhibition for the Scoparia dulcis L. hydroalcoholic extract was observed at 200 and 300 mg/kg oral dosages of the extract, with corresponding values of 60.19% and 63.48%, after a 4-hour injection of carrageenan
