Harmonizing management prerogative and labor rights to optimize industrial peace in unionized establishments in Camarines Sur
This study explored the balance between management prerogative and labor rights in achieving industrial peace within unionized establishments in Camarines Sur. Management prerogative refers to employers' authority over employment decisions, while labor rights ensure workers' welfare and fair treatment. Striking a balance between these two is critical to fostering harmonious industrial relations, as highlighted by various labor cases and frameworks. Using a descriptive-correlational research design, the study analyzed responses from 80 participants comprising rank-and-file union members and HR personnel. Data collection methods included surveys and interviews. Statistical techniques such as Pearson correlation, thematic analysis, and weighted mean were employed to assess the implementation of labor rights and the challenges workers face in exercising these rights. Key focus areas were self-organization, collective bargaining, grievance mechanisms, and peaceful concerted actions. Results revealed significant correlations between management prerogative and labor rights implementation, particularly in financial and operational decision-making. However, challenges such as limited union representation in decision-making and moderate difficulties in collective bargaining and grievance mechanisms persist. The findings underline the importance of enhancing transparency, strengthening grievance procedures, and fostering collaborative management-union dynamics. This research contributes actionable recommendations, including forming joint committees, capacity-building programs for union leaders, and improved conflict resolution mechanisms. These interventions aim to bridge gaps between management and labor, promoting sustainable industrial peace while safeguarding the rights of all stakeholders
THERAPEUTIC EDUCATION AND CARE OF DIABETIC PATIENTS IN IVORY COAST: Case of the Civil Servants Medical Service (SMF) of Plateau
This study examines the socio-educational determinants influencing diabetes treatment adherence at the Diabetes and Arterial Hypertension Clinic (CDH) of the Civil Servants Medical Service (SMF) of Plateau. Using a quantitative methodology, we administered questionnaires to 147 diabetic patients selected through convenience sampling during their clinical visits. Results reveal that therapeutic education is crucial for optimal patient care, as 43.5% of study participants exhibited abnormal glycemic levels. The findings underscore two critical pathways to enhance therapeutic compliance: socialization to treatment protocols and individualized care approaches. Effective management requires patients to internalize therapeutic practices through consistent blood glucose self-monitoring and developing competencies in tracking glycated hemoglobin values. Furthermore, the study highlights that social perspectives on diabetes and the quality of community and family support systems significantly influence treatment adherence

EFFECT OF TEAM TEACHING ON LEARNING OUTCOMES OF UNDERGRADUATES OF FACULTY OF EDUCATION IN RIVERS STATE UNIVERSITY
This study investigated effect of team teaching on learning outcomes of undergraduates of Faculty of Education in Rivers State University Three research questions and three null hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. The population of the study is 140 undergraduates of 2020/2021 academic session of Faculty of Rivers State University. The entire population of 140 students were studied as an intact class without sampling. The study adopted the use of two different instructional methods, the team-teaching method and the conventional lecture method. An instrument titled Learning Outcomes Test was designed and used to address the three research questions of the study. The instrument was subjected to face and content validity by three experts, one expert in the Department of Educational Management and two others in Measurement and Evaluation. The reliability of the instrument was established using test-retest reliability method while z-test statistics was used to analyze the test scores of the experimental and control groups. The result showed that undergraduates taught using parallel teaching, differentiated teaching and one-teach-one-assist had a higher mean performance score than those taught using conventional technique in the learning outcomes test. Consequently, it was recommended among that, the university should address the question of operational support whenever it is considering parallel teaching because teachers are sometimes emotionally drained teaching diverse students, the university should support teachers’ utilization of differentiated teaching by motivating them to maximize teacher leadership and one-teach-one-assist should be use when one teacher has more expertise in the topic and when individual student needs more assistance in the university
Using Other People's Land without Permission Which Is Reviewed from a Criminal-Legal Aspect
The land has several dimensions, including social dimensions, political dimensions, economic dimensions, and ecological dimensions. Problems in the land sector from the colonial era to the millennium era have never been resolved conflicts over land rights tend to increase. Therefore, it is necessary to study law enforcement against perpetrators who use land belonging to other people without proper permission. The study aims to conduct a study of perpetrators who use land belonging to other people without permission which is entitled to be reviewed by criminal law. The method used in this study is a normative juridical research method and is analyzed descriptively. Data collection through a literature study of reading sources, namely the Criminal Code Law, books and journals as well as scientific legal experts in academics related to the study. The results of the research show that land that is controlled by another party unlawfully from the perspective of criminal law is qualified as a perpetrator of the crime of land grabbing, so law enforcement is resolved through a court process to obtain justice, and Land grabbing can be subject to article 385 of the Criminal Code which is punishable by a maximum prison sentence of 4 (four) years
A Comparative Study of High Order Modified Second Derivative Simpson’s Related Block Methods for Stiff Systems
A continuous formulation based on the Modified Second Derivative Simpson’s Block Methods (MSDSBM) with off-grid points are developed and adapted to cope with the integration of stiff systems of Ordinary Differential Equations (ODEs). The LU Decomposition techniques was employed, which yields continuous formulation to derive theStandard Simpson’s Block Method (SSBM), Second Derivative Simpson’s Block Method (SDSBM), and the MSDSBM.This is achieved by combining the Modified Second Derivative Simpson’s Method (MSDSM) with other additional methods (obtained from the same continuous formulation) and applying them as numerical integrators by assembling them into a single block matrix equation. The basic stability properties of the block methods was investigated and found to be zero-stable, consistent, and convergent, and from their regions of absolute stability, they possess regions suitable for the solution of all stiff ordinary differential equations. Further investigation showed that the newly constructed methods are all A-stable and of high order. The performance of the methods was demonstrated on some numerical examples to show accuracy and computational efficiency
Public Expenditure Pattern and Economic Performance: The Nigerian Analytical Evidence
Thrust by the gains of counter-cyclical policy inseveral economies but the persistent economic realities in Nigeria, despite the policy;this study looked at how Nigeria's economic performance was affected by patterns in public spending. Econometric model and estimation procedures were employed to analyse the time series data obtained from Central Bank of Nigeria reports (1981-2022). The analytical procedures include: Descriptive statistics to ascertain the normality of the distribution, Unit root tests was conducted with Augmented Dickey Fuller and Phillips-Perron parameters to prove the Stationarity of variables as integrated at first difference; Johansen cointegration model was used to estimate the existence of long run equilibrium relationship between the public expenditure pattern (capital and recurrent) and real gross domestic product (RGDP). The study also employed Parsimonious Error Correction model (PECM) to estimate the drift manner of the real GDP from the long run equilibrium relationship due to change in public expenditure pattern and the speed rate at correctional adjustment. The results indicate the presence of long run equilibrium relationship between the public expenditure dimensions and real gross domestic product. It also revealed appropriate and significant error correction estimation with coefficient (-0.129380) indicating an adjustment speed of the real GDP at disequilibrium back to the relationship as 12.9%. Specifically, the hypothetical test result on capital expenditure and real GDP suggests positive effect but insignificant. Similarly, recurrent expenditure affected real GDP positively but insignificantly. Thefindings portray trend in the short run period and tends to justify the theoretical hypotheses. However, it is concluded that public expenditure pattern has positive but insignificant effect on economic performance in Nigeria. Therefore, it is recommended for policy action of government to implement fiscal expenditures that would achieve infrastructures that impact on the economy through multiplier effect and not invest in spending that only increase aggregate demands of economic units which may cause inflation that deplete economic performance
SALES FORCE MOTIVATION AND PERSONNEL PERFORMANCE OF DEPOSIT MONEY BANK IN PORT HARCOURT
Sales force motivation describes a sales force intrinsic enthusiasm and drives to accomplishment. Every sales force is motivated by something in his or her life. Motivating a sales force to work is the combination of fulfilling the sales force need and expectations from work and work place factor. That enables sales force motivation. Too many work places still act as if the sales force should be grateful to have a job. Managers are on power trip and sales force policies and procedure are formulated based on the assumption that you cannot trust sales force to do the right thing. In the banking sector, task and target are placed on sales for to delivery but the required motivation and benefits are delayed and even denied. Effective remuneration and recognition are sources of motivation to enhance these personnel to performance satisfactorily. Interview and questionnaires are administered to sales force in Port Harcourt. Their response has helped in analyzing the result in a simple percent format. It was found that motivation serves as a factor which influence performance and enhance personal performance. This study recommended that human capital management (HCM) in the commercial bank should develop policies that encourage employee to advance their careers. Employee should be engaged on a permanent terms in order to maximize high turnaround in performance. In addition, human capital managers should review compensation, incentive and salaries policies and pay sale force overtime worked.
