The Role of Trust in Civil Construction Negotiations: A Brazilian Case Study
This article investigates an intricate real estate negotiation occurred in Sorocaba, São Paulo. The R$360 million transaction encountered a major obstacle because a real estate intermediary led to the breakdown of trust. The negotiating team faces increasing difficulties because they need to handle various relationships and power systems to protect the agreement. The negotiating team needs to show their ability to rebuild trust during agreement completion but their ongoing disputes threaten to surpass their problem-solving capacity. The case study presents an interesting story about negotiation and conflict resolution and relationship development which offers vital data for academic researchers and professional practitioners
RESOURCE USE EFFICIENCY OF ACHA (Digitaria specie) PRODUCTION IN SOUTHERN BAUCHI, BAUCHI STATE NIGERIA
The study examined resource use efficiency in acha production in Southern Bauchi, Bauchi State, Nigeria. A multistage random sampling technique was employed which led to a sample of 384 acha farmers randomly selected for the study. Data were collected through the use of structured questionnaire. Descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis were used to analyze the data. Socioeconomic characteristics of acha farmers showed a mean age of 42 years, household size of 8 persons, mean farming experience of 10 years and a mean farm size of 0.6hectares devoted to acha production. Four factors were significant in determining resource use efficiency of acha farmers; these were seed quantity at (P≤0.01), fertilizer and labour (P≤0.05) and farm size (P≤0.1). The rate of technical substitution (RTS) of 0.88 indicates that acha production operates in Stage II of the production function, characterized by decreasing positive returns to scale. The resource use efficiency ratios indicated that seed, insecticide, and farm size were under-utilized, as their ratios were greater than one; while the ratio for fertilizer was less than one. Constraints to acha production were found to include insufficient funds (83.1%), soil infertility (72.1%) and manual method of harvesting (65.4%). It was concluded that acha farmers were efficient in the use of resources but not without opportunity for adjustment of input use to optimize production. Providing farmers with training on optimal input use and resource management can help in adjusting their practices according to the efficiency ratios was recommended, among others
A study of some of the biology of the Metapenaeus affinis in the waters of the North Western Arabian Gulf
The study showed that the sex ratio of shrimp Metapenaeus affinis was highest in the summer, reaching 65% females and 35% males. This was followed by summer (58% females and 42% males), then autumn (52% females and 48% males), and the lowest was recorded in winter (51% females and 49% males). Laboring females were recorded throughout the year at various stages of maturity, with the most mature and developed occurring in the summer and spring. The largest lengths of females and males were recorded (16.7 and 12.5) cm, respectively, while the weights were (28.9 and 15.2) g, respectively
Age-Related Histomorphological Changes in Human Kidneys: A Cadaveric Study
Background: As people become older, their kidneys change in both structure and function, which makes them less able to do their job and raises the risk of chronic kidney disease (CKD), especially in older people. Even though a lot of research has been done on Western cultures, there isn't much information about how kidneys age in South Asian populations, like Bangladesh. Objective: The goal of this study was to look at how the structure of human kidneys varies with age in different age groups using cadaver samples from Bangladesh. Methodology: At Dhaka Medical College, researchers did a descriptive cross-sectional study on 100 kidneys from unclaimed bodies. The bodies were divided into four age groups: 10–19, 20–39, 40–59, and 60 years or older. We assessed morphometric characteristics such kidney weight, length, width, thickness, and volume. We also used hematoxylin and eosin staining to look at the number and size of glomeruli. ANOVA and unpaired t-tests were used to do the statistical analysis. Results: The size and volume of the kidneys were highest in the 20–39 years group and dropped a lot in older age groups (≥60 years). As people got older, the number of glomeruli per mm² went down, but the diameter of the glomeruli went up. This is a sign of compensatory hypertrophy. Histological results also showed that older kidneys had more interstitial fibrosis and thicker blood vessels. These findings support global patterns of kidney aging and draw attention to unique structural changes in South Asia. Conclusion: The work gives important baseline histomorphological information about how kidneys age in a South Asian population, showing that the structure of kidneys starts to break down after age 60. To find and treat age-related kidney disorders early, it's important to understand these changes, especially in places like Bangladesh where resources are limited
Comparative Analysis of Morphological and Histological Differences between Right and Left Human Kidneys
Background: The right and left human kidneys are both bilateral organs, but they don't always have the same structure and histology. These kinds of differences can have an impact on how the kidneys work, how surgery is done, and how a diagnosis is made. Researchers in Western countries have looked into these kinds of differences a lot, but not so much in South Asia, especially Bangladesh. It is important to know about these changes in structure and histology because chronic kidney disease (CKD) is becoming more common in the area. Objective: The goal of this study was to look at the differences in shape and structure between the right and left human kidneys in different age groups using cadaver samples from Bangladesh. Method and Material: We used purposive sampling to get 100 kidneys (50 right and 50 left) from unclaimed bodies at Dhaka Medical College and did a descriptive cross-sectional study on them. We put the kidneys in 10% formalin and split them into four age groups: 10 to 19 years, 20 to 39 years, 40 to 59 years, and 60 years or older. The goal of this study is to look at the differences in shape and structure between the right and left human kidneys in different age groups, using cadaveric samples from Bangladesh. We did a descriptive cross-sectional study on 100 kidneys (50 right and 50 left) that we got from unclaimed bodies at Dhaka Medical College through purposive sampling. The kidneys were kept in 10% formalin and split into four age groups: 10 to 19 years, 20 to 39 years, 40 to 59 years, and 60 years or older.The concern was taken by all sample. Results: The results of this study could help us learn more about how kidneys age and what that might mean for medical practice. We used microscopy and staining methods to look at morphometric features (weight, length, width, thickness, and volume) and histological features (the number and size of glomeruli per mm²). We looked at the data with ANOVA and unpaired t-tests. Results: The 20–39 age group had the biggest kidneys and the most glomeruli. The number of glomeruli went down a lot as people got older, but their size went up, which could be a sign of compensatory hypertrophy. The left kidney was always bigger than the right in terms of weight, length, and volume. There were statistically significant changes in structure between the right and left kidneys and between age groups. These results show how important it is for the kidneys to be on the same side and how they change shape as we get older. Conclusion: This study shows that the right and left kidneys have very different structures and histologies, and that they get worse with age, especially after age 60. The results give South Asia some important baseline information and show how important it is for nephrologists, surgeons, and transplant surgeons to know about the area's anatomy. In the future, researchers should use molecular imaging and spatial profiling to learn more about the functional implications
EMERGING TRENDS IN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) -DRIVEN OPERATIONS:
Background Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a transformative force in operational domains, reshaping processes in manufacturing, logistics, scheduling, and cloud-based systems. The rapid proliferation of research output, particularly within the 2025–2026 period, underscores the need for a systematic bibliometric assessment to elucidate emerging thematic trajectories, intellectual structures, and influential contributors in AI-driven operations.
Methods A quantitative bibliometric design was employed using the Biblioshiny platform, underpinned by the Bibliometrix R package. Bibliographic data were sourced from Scopus and restricted to publications dated 2025–2026 that explicitly addressed AI applications in operational contexts. The analysis integrated performance indicators—such as publication productivity and citation impact with science mapping techniques, including co-authorship analysis, keyword co-occurrence, thematic clustering, and network centrality metrics.
Results Findings reveal a pronounced temporal concentration of publications in 2025, indicative of a hyper-accelerated research front. China emerged as the predominant contributor, with South China University of Technology and other leading institutions demonstrating the highest output. Thematic mapping identified three major clusters reinforcement learning, scheduling algorithms, and smart manufacturing and a smaller emergent cluster on fabrication. Strong inter-thematic linkages highlight the convergence of AI methodologies with operational optimization and Industry 4.0 applications. Owing to the recency of the dataset, traditional citation counts were minimal; thus, PageRank and network-based metrics provided more meaningful indicators of early influence. Several recent publications demonstrated notable structural impact within the emerging knowledge network.
Conclusion AI-driven operations research is characterized by rapid expansion, thematic convergence, and significant regional concentration, particularly within Chinese institutions. Reinforcement learning, scheduling algorithms, and smart manufacturing constitute the intellectual core of the field, reinforced by advances in cloud and edge computing. In the context of an emergent research landscape, network-based impact measures are more appropriate than conventional citation metrics. The findings indicate a swift transition from theoretical exploration to applied innovation, necessitating continued monitoring, interdisciplinary collaboration, and strategic policy and industry engagement
Deterrence and Tax Morale: The moderating effect of corruption in Nigeria
This study investigates the influence of deterrent on tax morale; the moderating effect of corruption in Nigeria. The study adopted a quantitative cross-sectional design, population was three hundred and eighty-four (384) individual tax payers across various regions in Nigeria. Data was collected through structured questionnaires administered to participants using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Three hypotheses were tested. The results indicate that both deterrence measures; penalties and tax audits have significant and positive effects on tax morale. However, corruption did not significantly moderate the relationship between deterrence and tax morale. This study recommends Nigeria Revenue Service(NRS or the Service) and other relevant tax authorities should strengthen the legal framework for imposing and enforcing tax penalties. Tax authorities in Nigeria should intensify audit efforts and improve audit coverage, especially among high-risk and self-employed taxpayer categories
GENDER AND POWER DYNAMICS IN 1 COR 10:31–11:16: AN ANALYSIS OF PAUL’S GOSPEL MESSAGE
This study analyzes gender and power dynamics in 1 Corinthians 10:31-11:16, focusing on Paul’s guidance to the Corinthian church concerning cultural practices, gender roles, and their implications for Christian identity and community. The passage addresses eating, worship, and bodily expression, providing a framework to examine the intersection of gender, authority, and cultural expectations in the Greco-Roman context. Employing a narrative-critical method, the article situates the text within its historical and cultural context to demonstrate how Paul maintains ecclesiastical order while affirming the dignity of both women and men in the faith community. The interpretation of the head covering motif is central to this analysis, as it is often misinterpreted as a directive that supports patriarchal dominance. This article contends that the gospel serves as the interpretive key to these dynamics in the Corinthian church. It asserts that Paul’s instructions should be understood as a call to respect local customs while promoting inclusivity that transcends traditional gender boundaries. This study contributes to ongoing discussions about gender, authority, and community dynamics in contemporary Christian thought

The Territory of Faradje, located in Haut-Uele in northeastern DRC, is undergoing major changes in its land structure due to several external factors. These include the large arrival of South Sudanese refugees, the expansion of Garamba National Park, increased mining activities by foreign companies, and the long-term presence of nomadic Mbororo herders. These developments, often happening outside official legal frameworks, are quietly changing traditional land boundaries, breaking up territorial space, and putting growing pressure on natural resources. This leads to tensions between communities and shows the limits of current humanitarian management.
In addition, conservation measures in the park restrict traditional land use, while mining activities, carried out without transparency or respect for environmental rules, cause serious ecological damage and force people to move. The Mbororo’s presence, marked by conflict over land and mobility, increases both land and security tensions. These changes call for a critical review of territorial mapping and an urgent reform of land governance, based on recognizing local rights, ensuring transparency, and promoting inclusive dialogue
THE HUMAN COST OF INSECURITY: REIMAGINING PEACEBUILDING IN NIGERIA
Insecurity has evolved into one of the most disruptive forces in Nigeria’s contemporary socio-political landscape, producing a scale of human suffering that stretches far beyond quantifiable metrics of violence. This article interrogates the human cost of insecurity in Nigeria, drawing on empirical data, scholarly research, and interdisciplinary perspectives from peace studies, political science, sociology, economics, and security studies. It argues that the country’s long-standing security crises from terrorism and banditry to farmer–herder conflict, kidnapping, communal clashes, militancy, and urban crime are not merely symptoms of state fragility but engines of widespread social dislocation, structural impoverishment, psychological trauma, demographic realignment, and institutional decay. The article critiques state-centered, militarized approaches to security management, exposing their inadequacy in addressing root causes. It proposes a reimagined model of peacebuilding grounded in human security, community resilience, social justice, restorative governance, local participation, and adaptive institutional reform. The analysis contributes to global peacebuilding discourse by framing Nigeria as a critical case study for understanding human-centered insecurity in postcolonial societies. The article concludes by offering policy pathways for sustainable peace
