Effect of Various Leaf Meal Supplementation as a Source of Plant-Based Protein on the Growth of Red Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus)
This study aims to evaluate the effect of adding various types of leafy greens in artificial feed formulations on the growth rate of red tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) fingerlings. The research was conducted from January to March 2023 at the Aquatic Resource Management Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Padjadjaran, Jatinangor. The research method used was an experimental design with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), consisting of five treatments with three replications each. The treatments included: Treatment A (control/no leafy green addition), Treatment B (10% Carica papaya leaf meal), Treatment C (10% Alocasia macrorrhiza leaf meal), Treatment D (10% Albizia falcataria leaf meal), and Treatment E (a combination of 3.33% the three various leaves). The results showed that the addition of leafy greens in the feed did not result in significant differences in growth rate and feed efficiency. However, the treatment with 10% Alocasia macrorrhiza leaf meal produced the highest daily growth rate at 1.22% and a feed efficiency of 26.21%. Based on these results, it can be concluded that adding up to 10% leafy greens in feed formulations can be considered an alternative source of plant-based protein for red tilapia fingerlings
THE TECHNICAL EFFICIENCY OF DIFFERENT PIGS PRODUCTION PHASES FOR FARMER’S PROFITABILITY IN CROSS RIVER, NIGERIA
The study determined the technical efficiency of different pig production phases for farmer’s profitability in Cross River, Nigeria. A research question and one hypothesis guided the study. The hypothesis was tested at p< 0.05 level of significance. The study adopted experimental design. A population of 22 piglets of Large White (Yorkshire) breed was used. The piglets were 15 to 21-days of age. The sample was 18 healthy piglets. The instrument for data collection was a template for recording the information such as cost of piglets, cost of feeds, daily feed consumed among others and a structured questionnaire. The instrument was validated by three (3) experts, one (1) from the Department of Agricultural Education, and two (2) from the Department of Animal Science, all from University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Data was collected by directly recording inputs, outputs, costs, and revenue for each production phase. Weigh back technique was used to collect data on feed intake. The data was analysed using Mean, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), t-test, and Stochastic Frontier Regression statistic. Finding indicated Pigs sold in phase 2 had the highest technical efficiency ratio compared to the other phases. Also, pigs sold at phase 3 had the highest profitability when compared to others while the pig sold at production phase 1 had the least profitability. It was recommended among others that agricultural extension agents should advice pig farmers to sell their pigs in phase 2 for higher technical efficiency ratio, and that the Ministry of Agriculture through the agricultural extension agents should advice pig farmers to sell their pigs at the appropriate phase for highest profitability
Building a Competency Assessment Framework for Grade 10 Physics: An Urgent Need from Teaching Practice
The context of implementing the 2018 General Education Curriculum requires a profound change in the assessment activities for Grade 10 Physics, shifting from a content-oriented approach to developing learners' competencies. This paper presents the main findings from a survey study aimed at clarifying the current state of teachers' perceptions, difficulties, and needs during this transition. Using a questionnaire survey method with 20 Physics teachers at high schools in Thai Nguyen province, data were collected and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The research results paint a challenging picture: the majority of teachers lack confidence and detailed guidance materials; they face significant pressure as developing matrices and assessment questions in the new orientation is considered too complex and time-consuming, leading to a common trend of reusing questions from old question banks. This situation also affects students, leaving them confused with new ways of learning and taking tests. Most notably, the study records a near-unanimous consensus (95%) on the urgent need for a standardized reference framework and question bank. These findings confirm the existence of a “difficulty loop” that is hindering the innovation process, while also emphasizing the urgency of building and implementing effective professional support tools to help teachers overcome barriers and bring the spirit of the new curriculum into practice
Mechanisms of Social Cohesion Reconstruction and the Recomposition of Social Bonds in a Post-Crisis Context in Duékoué (Côte d’Ivoire)
This article analyzes the issue of recovery in relation to the social fabric in a post-conflict environment. It aims to describe the mechanisms implemented to rebuild cohesion in the Duékoué department, a locality that experienced the disintegration of its social bonds following various socio-political crises. Using a purely qualitative approach—which reflects the complexity of social relations and community dynamics and highlights the depth of discourse, representations, and social interactions—the study is based on semi-structured interviews and focus groups conducted with a purposive sample of 35 participants, selected according to social position and community affiliation. The results show that social and economic assistance initiatives, the rehabilitation of socio-community infrastructure, and community interaction activities are strategies that have contributed, to varying degrees, to improving weakened social bonds. However, major challenges remain for the effective and sustainable consolidation of social cohesion
THE IMPACT OF PARLIAMENTARY OVERSIGHT MECHANISMS ON FOREIGN POLICY: A LEGAL AND DEMOCRATIC FRAMEWORK
The impact of parliamentary oversight mechanisms on foreign policy decision-making processes is of critical importance for democratic governance and the rule of law. This research examines how parliamentary oversight tools shape the transparency, accountability, and democratic legitimacy of foreign policy within a multidimensional framework. The fundamental research question investigates the ways and extent to which parliamentary oversight mechanisms affect the content, direction, and democratic legitimacy of foreign policy. The research hypothesis posits that countries with strong parliamentary oversight mechanisms produce foreign policy decisions that are more transparent, more accountable, and more reflective of societal interests. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, incorporating panel data analysis covering twenty-eight countries, three in-depth case studies, and qualitative content analysis of parliamentary records. The theoretical framework is grounded in principal-agent theory, veto players theory, democratic peace theory, and liberal institutionalism. Findings demonstrate a strong positive relationship between parliamentary oversight capacity and foreign policy transparency. As the specialization level of foreign relations committees increases, the arbitrary action space of the executive narrows; as budget oversight intensifies, foreign policy-related costs decrease; and as parliamentary questions and investigations proliferate, executive discourse becomes more cautious and aligned with international law. Research results reveal that parliamentary oversight constitutes not merely a domestic political requirement but also a strategic advantage in terms of international credibility and cooperation. The study proposes recommendations for strengthening the institutional capacities of parliaments, developing expert support systems, and effectively utilizing digital technologies in oversight processes. The future of democratic governance depends on activating parliamentary oversight in all decision-making processes, including the foreign policy domain
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE APPLICATION AND MARKETING EFFECTIVENESS OF ONLINE SHOPPING BUSINESSES IN NIGERIA
This study investigates the relationship between artificial intelligence application and marketing effectiveness of online shopping firms in Nigeria. The objectives of the study were to investigate the influence of data mining and machine learning on sales volume. Employing the cross-sectional survey design, the study implemented the quasi-experimental research design. A research questionnaire was developed in accordance with the research questions and distributed to the management level employees and IT staff of these online businesses, who comprised the target population of the study. Each of the twenty-four (24) e-commerce companies chosen for this study received five (5) questionnaires from the researcher. Following data cleansing, an overall total of 102 copies of the disseminated questionnaire were recovered. For this analysis, we utilised SPSS Version 25.0 and the PPMCC to test our hypothesis over these copies. The findings indicated that there exist a positive and significant correlation between the volume of sales and data mining, as well as a positive and significant correlation between the volume of sales and machine learning in Nigerian online purchasing firms. The study recommended that; the data mining activities of the online shopping firms should be standardized to ensure that online shoppers can access desired products and services without any challenges or shortcomings; machine learning should be integrative enough to help both the online business and their customers maintain mutual exchange of information and directives that will not be detrimental to the online shoppers and in extension, the organization
Developing and Testing a Scale for Institutional Stakeholder Relationship Across Four Dimensions
The research article presents a new assessment scale which evaluates institutional stakeholder relationships through stakeholder relationship assessment. The researcher define the model as a unified construct which includes four separate components: Communication, Trust and Cooperation, and Satisfaction. Organizations which practice open communication and build trust through collaborative actions and deliver stakeholder satisfaction will achieve superior relational results according to the research. The multi-item scales demonstrate reliability and they show evidence of convergent validity and discriminant validity and nomological validity in a study involving institutional stakeholders. The research data shows that stakeholder relationship acts as a positive factor which connects stakeholder participation to organizational institutional success. The research presents findings which lead to theoretical and practical implications and establish guidelines for upcoming studies
Speaking Truth to Power: The Role of Language in Shaping Resistance and Identity during the #EndSARS Protests
The #EndSARS protests in Nigeria represent a defining moment in the evolution of digital activism and youth-led resistance against systemic and systematic police brutality and institutionalized oppression. This paper explores the central role of language and narratives in shaping collective identity, mobilizing action, and challenging dominant discourses during the 2020 #EndSARS movement. Drawing on a thematic analysis of selected tweets and employing theoretical frameworks such as Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), Network Theory of Power, and Discourse Analysis, the study examines how protesters leveraged linguistic strategies to construct narratives of resistance, build solidarity, and counter state-sponsored misinformation.
The findings reveal that language functioned as a powerful tool for both unity and resistance— used not only to coordinate protests across physical and digital spaces but also to express deep emotional appeals grounded in anger, grief, hope, and resilience. Hashtags such as #EndSARS, #LekkiMassacre, and #SoroSoke became symbolic rallying points that transcended ethnic and religious divides, facilitating the formation of a cohesive protest identity rooted in shared experiences of injustice. Moreover, cultural idioms, affective expressions, and multimodal elements such as emojis, symbols, and code-switching were strategically deployed to enhance communicative reach and emotional resonance among the protesters.
Importantly, this paper argues that the #EndSARS movement exemplifies the transformative potential of language in contemporary social movements—not merely as a medium of expression, but as a political and ideological force capable of reshaping public discourse, negotiating identity, and sustaining resistance in the face of oppression. The analysis contributes to broader discussions on digital activism, civic engagement, and the evolving dynamics of protest communication in post-colonial contexts like Nigeria

DEFENSE BUDGET PREPARATION BASED ON LIFE CYCLE COST (LCC) AS AN EFFORT TO IMPROVE THE READINESS OF TNI'S DEFENSE EQUIPMENT
This study analyzes the Life Cycle Cost (LCC)-based defense budgeting as an effort to improve the readiness of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI)'s Main Weapons Systems (Alutsista). To date, Indonesia's defense budget has tended to focus on the procurement of new defense equipment, while aspects of maintenance, modernization, and long-term logistical support have not been fully accommodated. This creates an imbalance between capital expenditures and maintenance expenditures, which has resulted in a degradation of the operational readiness of defense equipment. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive-analytical methods, through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies at the Ministry of Defense, TNI Headquarters, the three branches of the TNI, and defense experts. The results indicate that the LCC concept has not been fully integrated into defense budget planning due to regulatory constraints, limited life cycle cost data, and a lack of human resource capacity. However, there is a strong awareness that implementing LCC can improve transparency, efficiency, and fiscal sustainability in supporting the readiness of TNI's defense equipment. This study recommends the need for budget regulation reform to enable multi-year budgeting, strengthen the maintenance and operational cost database, and improve human resource competency in LCC analysis. Furthermore, synchronization between institutions (Ministry of Defense, Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), Ministry of Finance, Bappenas, and economic experts) is key to realizing more realistic budget planning oriented toward long-term readiness. With consistent implementation of the LCC, the defense budget will not only be more effective and efficient but will also ensure the TNI's continued combat readiness in the face of dynamic global threats
