Get PDFThe article analyzes the novel by A. Golden "Memoirs of a Geisha", which is stylization under non fiction literature, which is characteristic of the literature of the globalized world. In fact, it is a work of fiction, a confession-telling novel of the main character of Saiuri-san who has made a difficult journey from a little girl who was sold by her old father and who has made a long way to become a geisha, through comprehension of traditional Japanese culture to emigration on the slope of the United States of America and a difficult upsurge into American reality, difficult and contradictory searches of her own happiness and becoming a mother.У статті проаналізовано роман А. Голдена «Мемуари гейші», який є стилізацією під твір літератури non fiction, що характерно літератури глобалізованого світу. Насправді він є художнім твором, романом-сповіддю головної героїні Саюрі-сан, що пройшла тяжкою дорогою від проданої старим батьком маленької дівчинки, на яку чекав довгий шлях поступового перетворення в гейшу, через осягнення традиційної японської культури до еміграції на схилі до Сполучених Штатів Америки і складного вростання в американську дійсність, непростих і суперечливих пошуків власного щастя, набуття материнства

Get PDFThe article is devoted to the issues of the author’s strategy peculiarities in the text of a modern novel, in particular, the noticed way “a thinking trap”. The examples of the use of this strategy are given in different variants in various novels: from direct pointing to the trap to logical conclusions with the help of the labyrinth, the contradictions in the end, etc. It is shown that thanks to the modern understanding of the text as hyperspace, full of ambiguity and puzzles, gaps, paralipsis, understatement, and especially the way “a thinking trap” in literature force the process of sensemaking in reader’s perception.
Key words: a novel, a text, author’s strategy, the way “a thinking trap”.У статті досліджуються особливості авторської стратегії в просторі тексту сучасного роману, зокрема, виявлений прийом «смислової пастки». Наводяться приклади використання такої стратегії в різних варіантах в сучасних романах: від прямої вказівки на пастку до перекидання логічних висновків за допомогою лабіринту, протиріччя в фіналі та ін. Показано, що завдяки сучасному розумінню тексту як гіперпростору, сповненого літературних двозначностей і головоломок, прогалини, умовчання, недомовленість і особливо прийом «смислової пастки» форсують процес смислотворення в читацькому сприйнятті

Get PDFThe article examines the problem of man’s searching for the meaning of being, which is interpreted inthe Konstantin Moskalets’ essay "Month of admiring the moon".
There are thinkings about the artificiality and timeliness of the realities of "the present long time" and the loss of the word (language) of ability to reflect the true nature of things, phenomena, events, states. According to the author, the spiritual man’s principle is primary and necessary. Without it man is only an amorphous mass which is wholy reigned by a body. Essay is intertextually linked to the Japanese cultural tradition (the title of the work, quotes from the Matsuo Basso’s haiku, allusions to the Japanese tea rite).The author interprets freedom and creativity as the necessary factors in the life of the individual, the noesis of his own essence, the liberation from the illusions of the modern world and the path to God. There are thoughts of need of "the growth of being", the searching for authenticity, the aspiration to restore the true meaning of life and Word and spiritual insight.У статті досліджується проблема пошуку людиною сенсу буття, інтерпретована в есеї Костянтина Москальця «Місяць милування місяцем». У творі звучать роздуми про штучність та тимчасовість реалій «теперішнього тривалого часу» та втрату словом (мовою) здатності відображати справжню сутність речей, явищ, подій, станів. Духовне начало в людині, на думку автора, – первинне й необхідне. Без нього людина – лише аморфна маса, над якою цілковито панує тіло.
Есей інтертекстуально пов’язаний із японською культурною традицією (назва твору, цитати з хоку Мацуо Басьо, алюзії на японський чайний ритуал).
Свобода і творчість осмислюються автором як необхідні чинники життя особистості, пізнання нею власної сутності, звільнення від ілюзій сучасного світу, шлях до Бога. У творі звучать роздуми про необхідність «прирощення буття», пошуку людиною автентичності, прагнення відновлення істинного змісту буття і Слова, духовного вдоконалення

Get PDFThe article investigates the peculiarity of the time space of the novel by Tatyana Belimova "Free World" as the determining factor of the genre. It is specified that the temporal-spatial continuum of the work is represented by the historical (reproduced historical reality of Ukraine of the twentieth century) and personal (from time to time from childhood to old age) chronotopes, through which the life of society, nation, and state are comprehended. The role of prospecting and retrospection as components of the chronotope has been determined, which allows indicating the versatility of the text.У статті досліджено своєрідність часопростору роману Тетяни Белімової «Вільний світ» як визначального жанротворчого чинника. Вказано, що часово-просторовий континуум твору репрезентований історичним (відтворено історичну дійсність України ХХ століття) та особистим (окреслено час від дитинства до старості) хронотопами, через які осмислено життя суспільства, нації, держави. Визначено роль проспекції та ретроспекції як складових хронотопу, що дозволяє вказати на багатоплановість тексту.

The attention is paid not only for texts, where Jewish genocide is a leitmotiv, but also for those, where the subject is secondary. Modern Ukrainian prose about Holocaust forms the emphasizing and humanistic space, objecting ideologically distorted commemorative practices. In analyzing texts, the places of memory, which are mnemotechnical methods as well as symbols of memory, help to transform the communicative memory of witnesses and victims into cultural memory and to integrate it into national historical narrative.У статті розглядаються твори українських письменників, що засвідчують розширення географічних маркерів Голокосту на території України та за її межами. До уваги взято не лише художні тексти, в яких знищення єврейського населення є наскрізною темою, але й ті, в яких воно виступає субтемою. На відміну від викривлених ідеологією коммеморативних практик, сучасна українська проза про Голокост формує співчутливий до людини художній простір. Місця пам’яті в аналізованих творах, які є мнемотехнічним засобом і символом пам’яті одночасно, сприяють трансформації комунікативної пам’яті свідків і жертв у пам\u27ять культурну, її інтеграції в національний історичний наратив.

This work is a life story of a young collector of butterflies — Frederick Clegg, an indistinct, ugly character who could not communicate with people around him, and therefore instead of a butterfly he kidnapped a beautiful young girl named Miranda. In a pre-arranged basement of his house Miranda becomes a prisoner and eventually dies.Портрет є одним з найважливiших художнiх засобiв вiдтворення особистостi в лiтературi. Get PDFThe paper deals with the function of money in the Baroque period. It analyzes the works of Baroque Ukrainian writers and identifies the essence of money, money transactions, and the attitude of authors to them. Aspect analysis of the great deal of works dated by that period shows that during the 17th and 18th centuries for a Baroque person money used to be the sign of earthiness and connivance. However in the middle of the 18th century in the works the writers the image of money and related operations becomes different. This idea can be proved by the works of V. Hrygorovych-Barskyi and H. Skovoroda. The acute need for money was constantly felt by pilgrims, because for them money was the means of survival during their travels. In the works of the writers of the 18th century, the image of the fair, the merchant, is increasingly rising as well as the implementation of various monetary operations.У статті йдеться про те, яку функцію виконували гроші в епоху бароко. Авторка статті проаналізувала твори українських письменників епохи бароко та визначила сутність грошей, грошових операцій, ставлення до них авторів творів. Аспектний аналіз більшості творів указаного періоду показав, що у період з ХVІІ по ХVІІІ століття гроші для людини епохи бароко були знаком приземленості та ницості. А от у творах письменників середини ХVІІІ століття дещо міняються погляди на гроші та операції пов’язані з ними. Особливо це дуже добро представлено у творах В.Григоровича-Барського, Г.Сковороди. Гостру потребу у грошах постійно відчували й паломники, адже для них гроші були засобом виживання під час мандрівок. У творах письменників ХVІІІ століття все частіше з’являється образ ярмарку, купця, йдеться про здійснення різноманітних грошових операцій
