    "Curriculum is the key to gain targeted goals of study. It plays most significant and vital role to ensures the future progress of a nation and state. Therefore, while designing curriculum, it is mandatory that it should fulfill and meet the challenges of cognitive developments and requirement of students at any level. Urdu is national language of Pakistan but other mother language like Punjabi, Sindhi, Balochi and Pashto are also present there. Therefore, it was necessary to design the Urdu curriculum at secondary level in such a way that it meets all the requirements of students, but unfortunately, it is not designed according to the said aspects and cognitive domains of students. In this article, the practical teaching and studying problems of present curriculum of Punjab Text Book Board for Secondary School Level are discussed.

    Many a scholars, poet and creative writers have been associated with Pakistan Army and served it in many arms and services in different capacities. Prof Dr. Muhammad Khan Ashraf is one of them who served in Baloch Regiment of Pakistan Army. He fought in defence of the motherland, was severely wounded in action and was decorated with Sitara-e-Jurat for his valour and bravery. After retirement he joined Education Department Govt of the Punjab. He is known as critic, teacher, historian and a poet.     Colonel Muhammad Khan was a Army Officer and a War Veteran. He was the renowned writer of the urdu literature and was a natural humourist and did not need amusing stories to make readers laugh. "Bazm-e-Aaraiyaan" is his third book, a collection of assorted prose pieces, some of which are a tad serious albiet thought provoking.
