Pir Muhammad Karam Shah was a famous scholar, Justice and writer of many books. He also performed as Chairman of Roat-e-Hilal Committee Pakistan. He wrote many books but one of the book title "Tafseer Zia-Ul-Quran" is the most popular book. Five editions of this book have been published by the Zia Ul Quran Publications. Pir Muhammad Karam Shah has translated Quran by using simple Urdu words which provide Islamic education to readers and research students of M.A., M.Phil and Ph.D

Fort William College is the only institution of Urdu who performed a gripping role in the development and improvement of language and literature. Although the British ruler of that time here the different motive to establish that institution. They have the idea to establish the local languages particularly Urdu language to be learnt by the new employees of that time to fulfil their administrative and political needs. There was a tradition to write the fabricated the colourful pages in that era, and Fort William College negate to introduce the new technique and tradition of prose writing, this step of Fort William College was proved a basic effort and foundation to create the simple plan and common style of Urdu writings instead of the flowery language writtings. Mr. Gillcrist gathered prominent writers from all corners of India and started the activities for publications and compilation of into Urdu language. The purpose of this project was to be introduced to new employees about the civilization of social culture and religious values through Urdu languages, so it was selected Urdu fiction to obtain the aims and objectives. In this regard the name of FWC,s prose writers (مولوی اکرام علی ولا، کاظم علی جوان، شیر علی افسوس، نہال چند لاہوری، مرزا علی لطف، میر بہادر علی حسینی، حیدر بخش حیدری، میر امن دہلوی )are very prominent and remarkable writers, who are a milestone in the history of Urdu fiction

Shakir Kandan is an armyman himself. He is the person who has a lot of researchbased articles and books on his credit. He is known as a distinguished poet, critic, researcher and editor of a Urdu literary magazine. He wrote more than thirty books on various topics in Urdu and Punjabi. Shakir Kandan research work in this regard is very important. He threw light on the achievements of those armymen who paid there attention on writings in prose and poetry are permanent part of history of urdu literature. Siddiq Salik was born on September 6 at Distt. Kharian, Punjab. His father was an average farmer having some agricultural land. He was just a toddler when his father passed away leaving a young widow with four kids to face the hardships of the world. The inherited land was usurped by his paternal uncle. Despite unfavourable circumstances his mother Aalim Bibi played her role heroically and educate him along with his three sisters utilizing her limited resources. According to rural tradition he completed recitation of the Holy Quran first and then got admission in the School. After passing 9th grade he left school and appeared as a private candidate for Matriculation exams. He bagged 1st position among all the private candidates. From Zamindar college, Gujrat he did F. A and did graduation from Islamia College, Lahore. From the same institution he got Masters degree in English literature. In 1963 he got diploma in International Relations from Punjab University, Lahore and joined Journalism. On December 17,1964 he got commission in Pak Army as a public Relations officer. During 1971 war he was imprisoned and declared POW. During imprisonment he wrote his memoir'Witness to Surrender'. Meanwhile his mother died in 1973 while he was still in India as a prisoner. When Martial law by Gen Zia was imposed on July 6,1977 he served as Press Secretary to President and wrote many speeches for him. In 1984 he was promoted as a Colonel and later on promoted to the rank of Brigadier in 1985.He was serving as Director General ISPR when killed in an air crash along with General Zia on August 17,1988. The title of his novel 'Pressure Cooker ' is symbolic. However, the said novel does not fall in the category of symbolic novel as there is no abstractionism in it.The article under review is an attempt to analyse Siddiq Salik's novel "Pressure Cooker" in the backdrop of current social perspective. It highlights not only a particular era when it was written but also mirrors the prevailing social set up of Pakistan under moral deterioration and crumbling values depict the decline of humanity. These exploiting others for personal benefit, is the foremost requisite and survival of the fittest is the only option. Innovation and logical thinking is discouraged in the grab of conservatism religious extremism

Expert in many languages and translator of Turkish writers' works into Urdu, Punjabi and English, Colonol (R) Masud Akhter Shaikh is well known as "Our Colonel" in Turkey and "Representative of Turkish Literature" in Pakistan.Colonol (R) Masud Akhter Shaikh was born in Rawalpindi in 1928. He passed his matriculation exam from Danes High School and B.A (Hons) from Garden College Rawalpindi. He got admission in Punjab University (journalism Deptt.) but he left it and joined army. When he promoted to rank of Major he got the opportunity to learn Turkish language. In 1963 he passed the exam of "Translator of Turkish Language". In 1966 he was selected for "Turkish Staff College Course" where he got the opportunity of the deep study in Turkish Literature and also made close relationships with the renowned Turkish writers.Since his retirement in 1978, he translated more than 200 literary pieces of 34 Turkish writers into Urdu, English and Punjabi languages. Now, has more than 24books of his, have been published in which 9 books are in Urdu,1inTurkish and the rest in English. Therefore, he is called a "Representative of Turkish Literature" in Pakistan. Here in this essay we are just going to have critical study of his translated works from Turkish into several languages

Captain Atta Rasool (retd) also known as Shakir Kandan needs no introduction in Urdu literature. He is a prominent figure in the army’s contribution to the Urdu literature. He was blessed not only with physical strength but also with a mind strong enough to use the might of pen. He wrote in both Urdu & Punjabi. Pakistan army is not only the defender of the boundries but in the field of literature, it has its own recognition also. The rankers of infantory, navy and airforce has sought help of pen for their creative thoughts. In any form of literature, our defender's contributions are not less than others. In this connection, a well known name is Haji Laq Laq (Bao Ata Muhammad Chishti). He retired from army as a captain. In the age of sixty four he died, but he left the legacy of poetry, prose and humour, which is quite enough to keep his name alive. Haji Laq Laq wrote fifteen books. Besides this, he served as a journalist in different newspapers and magazines. He earned name and fame. His contemporaries also appreciated his creative qualities. The titles of his books are very attractive. His work consists of every field of literature. The language used in the books is very simple and interesting
