In the Saraiki Language, if we look into the modern collection of fables, two major types can be observed. The first one falls under the category of indigenized or native fables and the second one falls under the category of extraneous or non-native fables. Keeping in view the native fables, the most ancient and prominent fable is of Sassi and Punnu that remained under the consideration of poets so far. In non-native fables, Yusuf and Zulaikha, Saif-ul-Maluk, Laila Majnoo, and Shah Behram have been critically acclaimed and equally famed by critics and poets. The sublime fable of the deserts of Arabia, Laila Majnoo earned a gigantic place in Eastern folk/literature. Currently, it seems like it is a part of the native fable assemblage as the Saraiki poets portrayed the deserts of Arabia in the colors of Rohi. This research study presents the historical background of the famous fable 'Laila Majnoo' and further discusses its Saraiki artists and their folk tales at the introductory level
