Kashmir's history is replete with many a repercussion both favouring and unfavouring. The nature is generous enough to offer it a landscape matchless in the world and hence called paradise on earth. Unfortunately this beauty turned for it to be non- benevolent as it was and still is occupied by the non- native tyrant. Given its importance the great poet of the East Allama Muhammad Iqbal had composed on it both in Urdu and Persian verses. This article deals with the Persian verses of Iqbal on the beautiful valley of Kashmir.

Intizar Hussain is an eminent and unique writer of Urdu Short Stories. His short stories are a good blend of story, daastan, symbol, past and present, research and analytical approach, philosophical and mystical thought process, concept of life and universe, Islamic and Hindi mythology etc. His short stories have deep roots and close creative bondage with metaphysical elements. Shaykh Ali Al-Muttaqi is one of the prominent personalities of the subcontinent. He was a famous Muhaddith, jurist, writer and sufi. He was initiated in Chishtiyah order by Shaykh Abdul Hakim alias Shaykh Bajan Chishti. He received higher education in Multan. Later on, he permanently settled in Makkah and died there in 975 AH at the age of ninety. He wrote more than 100 books. He compiled a collection of Hadith entitled “Kanz al-Ummal that has equally been praised by the scholars of Arab and non-Arab world. This article is not only the critical study of the translations of the classic Urdu ghazls of Mir Dard into English, it also highlights the age as well as the individuality, universal approach, mysticism and colors of the ghazals of Mir Dard.

Interaction of local languages of Pakistan with Arabic language is centuries old. All local languages including regional got influenced by Arabic language and its script. Degree of influence may vary but all of them, less or more, benefited from Arabic and its script. This article is a study of five major regional languages of Pakistan namely Hindko, Kashmiri, Brahui, Seraiki and Balti. All these languages are written in Perso-Arabic script and have borrowed a lot from Arabic.
