No full textThis paper presents a comparative study of two important characters of Urdu's two significant novels. They are Amra-o-Jan e Ada by Mirza Hadi Ruswa and 'Kai Chand Thy Zer e Asman by Shams al-Rehman Faruqi. Both these characters are representatives of beauty and lust and both are about tyranny and exploitation meted out to women. The article is a comparative study of differences, commonalities and contradictions found in both characters.

No full textThis research deals with the Arabic vowels, /a/,/ u / and /i/ (short sounds) . In addition, it deals with /a:/, /u:/,/i:/ (long sounds). AL-Khalil Ben Ahmed proved that the Arabic vowels start from /a/. He also proved that the differences among the vowels in their manner of articulation is due to the different forms and shapes of throat , mouth, lips and the position of the tongue when they are articulated . Hence, vowels vary in clarity: the /a/ sound is clearer than /u/, and the /u/ is clearer than /i/. The differences in their clarity may be due to the different amount of air forming a sound in a syllable, as the difference between /a/ and /a:/ is merely a difference in the amount of air. Likewise, the difference between /i/ and /i:/ as well as /u / and/ u:/ is the same . The Arabic vowels is distinguished by the fact that each phoneme has another substitute. So, changing or replacing it with another one must lead to a difference in meaning.

This article is about commentary on Gani Kashmiri's Diwan by Behlool Kol Jalandhri and introduction of its manuscript available at the central library of the University of the Punjab Lahore.

No full textSohrab Sepehri was an extraordinary artist and literary figure of Iran in 20th century. He is rightly taken as one of the most famous modern style Persian poets who also shined in the western world through translations of his poems in many European languages. Sepehri's poetry offers different look and yet very simple, which distinguishes him from other modern Persian poets. He believes in faith, dignity and truthfulness. Being a prominent painter, he has used so many colors e.g. green, white, black, blue, Persian blue, red, pink, yellow and brown etc in his poetry, which has been analyzed and evaluated in the article. This article reveals some undiscovered dimensions of Sepehri's wonderful poetic skills.
