پری بدیع الجمال دا کردار
Mian Muhammad Bukhsh is very popular with the people of the Punjab and his poetry is recited widely with love and interest. Many of his couplets have become proverbial and especially the lines from Saiful Mulook. Saiful Mulook is the master piece of Mian Muhammad Bukhsh. This article basically deals with the female protagonist, Badee ul Jamal, of Saiful Mulook in light of Mian Sahib's rendition. Views of different scholars have also been offered to define the symbolic aspect of the character.

Sheikh Sa'di was a great literary personality of Persian speaking world. His work is both in prose and verse. Pand Nama-e-Sa'di known as Kareema is one his master pieces comprising contents on advice. Like Gulsitan and Boostan, it has immense influence in the literary circles of the Subcontinent. Although this book has been written in an easy and simple language, however the commentators have written a number of commentaries on it for faster comprehension. The article presents an introductory study of the commentaries of Kareema written by the scholars of the Subcontinent.

There is hardly any poet in Islamic literary history who has not penned down on philosophy of Tauhid. This very truth is a testimony to how much this topic is important. The great poet of the East Allama Muhammad Iqbal has also written on this topic in his famous mathnavi namely Ramoz e Baikhudi. Allama has called Tauhid the first pillar of Islam and sheds lights on it from different aspects. This article presents Iqbal's concept of Tauhid in light of his mathnavi Ramoz e Baikhudi.

Hifiz Shirazi is a renowned Persian poet who is not only popular in Iran but across the world. His poetry has been influencing the literati of the Sub-continent on large scale. A good number of poets of the Sub-continent had benefitted from his poetry and composed their verses following his foot prints in poetry. Poets living in 12th and 13th century used to refer to Hafiz's poetry to authenticate their literary criticism. This article is a study of works on Hafiz and the books on criticism based upon Hafiz's verse by the scholars of the Sub-continent
TRADITIONAL MATERIALS USED BY THE MINIATURE ARTISTS AN INTRODUCTORY STUDY
Previous generations of the artists evolved special methods of producing materials for their art works meant to last for centuries. Their success can be appreciated by the existence to day of centuries old paintings in private collections hanging in different museums of the world, whose papers are intact and colours are as fresh as new. Unfortunately not much has ever been documented because this was the kind of knowledge that traveled orally from generation to generation. Some meager documents that are available, does give the basic idea but much of that documentation need further research and verification because many of the materials and methods explained are not very authentic. The paper is an effort to investigate and research some materials used by the past artists on scientific basis

Hakim Abu Al Qasim Ferdowsi, the poet of the epic of Shahnameh, is one of the most celebrated Persian poets. The Shahnameh is the longest epic poem ever created by a single poet and the national epic of Iran. Ferdowsi is one of the most influential Persian poets and the undisputed giants of all times. His work is cited as a crucial component in the persistence of Persian language, as the Shahnameh allowed much of the Persian language to remain codified and intact. In this respect, Ferdowsi surpasses all his contemporaries. The Shahnameh has been translated in many Oriental and Occidental languages. In this article, the English translations of the Shahnameh have been introduced and reviewed
ساغر صدیقی تے سلطان باہو
Sagir Siddiqui was a consummate poet of Urdu. Before migration to Pakistan, he had earned a good name in Urdu verse by participating in poetic sessions held time and between across India. He had also form a council for the promotion of Na'at poetry. After 1947 he could not come up with the changing demands of the time and people. He had to spend a life of destitution but his love for poetry remained with him till his last breath. During this period he inclined to Sufism. The verse of famous Punjabi Sufi poet Sultan Bahu was very dear to him. Hazrat Bahu was avowedly against worldly pomp and show and snobbery. Perhaps this trait of his verse attracted Sagir so much that he translated many of his work in Urdu. Besides comparison between both, the article presents a study of Sagir's Urdu rendition of work of Sultan Bahu

This article is an analytical study of travelogues written by Raza Ali Abdi. Four of his travelogues namely Jarnaili Sark, Shayer Darya, Rail Kahani, Jahazi Bhai have been published till date. He has made experiments through them which are untraceable in other Urdu travelogues. The article not only focuses on these experiments but also sheds light on technique and style he has applied through them

Urdu plays revolve around the issues which generally affect the common person. They widely covers socio-cultural, religio-economic and political issues. They have also focused the plight of woman in Pakistani society. Gender based discrimination is a common scene at public as well as private places. The Urdu play writers are conscious to this untold treatment meted out to women so they are writing plays dealing with this issue. The article presents an analytical study Urdu of plays focusing issues related to feminine world. The study also presents specimens of plays written by renowned authors of Urdu like Ashfaq Ahmad, Banoo Qudsia, Ismat Chugtai Amjad Islam Amjad, Younus Javed etc.

This article addresses the questions such as what is meant by "Naturalism", who were the pioneer writers of 'Naturalist Movement' started in France in 1880, what does nature mean in different civilizations and religions etc? Raising all these questions, difference between mankind and civilized human being is established, it not only differentiates realism with naturalism but also throws light on the inception of Naturalist Movement in Norwegian theatre and then in French novels. Along with this, the work of the pioneer writers of Naturalist Movement is also discussed.
