    Faiz Ahmad Faiz is one of the great name of Modern Urdu Verse. He is also considered a revolutionary poet. He penned a number of anthologies and got appreciated in his life time. He is widely appreciated for his revolutionary views and innovative poetry. Yet some critics also point out some prosodic errors in his poetry. The article establishes that the errors found in verse of Faiz though negligible, are the results of compositor. The value of his poetry cannot be undermined for such errors whose responsibility lies on the shoulders of compositor and not on Faiz

    Dr. Durmush Bulgur is an Urdu scholar, teacher and researcher from Turkey. He has developed special taste for Urdu language and literature. He has obtained doctoral degree in Urdu. A number of translations from Urdu to Turkey are on his credit. He has also served as the first Chairman of the Rumi Chair established in the University of the Punjab, Lahore. He has penned many books on Rumi Studies. These books range from translation to original ones all written in Urdu. This is an intraductory article meant to cover Dr. Bulgur's serviecs in promoting Urdu language.

    The role of Sir Syed Khan in the renaissance of the Muslims of the Sub- continent is epoch making. His main claim to fame is his reformative services he rendered for the betterment of the Muslims along with his educational and literary activities. His reformatory nature may rightly be perceived through the letters written by him. These letters tell a lot about the nature and style of his work of awakening the Muslims. Sheikh Muhammad Ismail Pani Pati compiled these letters in two volumes and published by Masjlis-e-Taraqi e Adab, Lahore. These letters on the one side cover the social, political, educational and religious situation of the Sub-continent and on the other hand they present a comprehensive picture of the efforts of Sir Syed for the uplifting of the Muslims

    Qurratulain Hyder presented various dialects of Urdu language in her novels. These shades bring forth the different accents, natures and cultures of the language which are spoken in different regions and tracts of the Sub-continent. Her characters introduce variegated references and aspects of dialects spoken in their social set-up and culture. Examples are found of dropping or enlarging sounds in her novels. Various substitutes of words are also employed. These changes of sounds, accents and words are made mostly by illiterate persons. All these changes indicate some linguistic aspects

    Sheikh Nor-ud-Din is considersed as the living symbol and the guiding light of Kashmir. Kashmiris recognise him as the Alamdare-Kashmir (the standard bearer of Kashmir). As a saint, revolutionary patriot and poet, he has exerted enormous influence on the beliefs and world view of the people of the valley. His thoughts have been moulding the minds of generations for more than seven centuires, establishing a culture of utmost religious tolerance with an abiding faith in the Omnipresence of God. No other saint, king, scholars or politician of Kashmir has recieved such national admiration as Sheikh Nor-ud-Din did.

    Haali is a great poet and critic of Urdu. He has earned fame and distinction owing to writing on novel topics and presenting diversified notions and thoughts. One of these concepts is his views about women which occupy a prominent place in both of his poetry and prose. Haali was a social reformer and a soft hearted man who was highly compassionate towards women. He was desirous of replacing the backward condition of women with progress and prosperity. He had tried to get back the lost status of women by his writings.

    Farhang e Anees by Naib Husain Naqvi is the glossary of poetical texts of an important poet of Urdu, Meer Anees. This book was compiled by collecting all important words, idioms, compounds, phrases and sometimes ornamental words. Naqvi wrote maximum meanings of the word or term and brief explanations according to the usage in text. The preface of the book is very comprehensive in which he wrote about the basic rules of literary glossary and commented on its importance.     Munnu Bhai is counted among the first generation of writers of Pakistan Television who has written individual plays, series and serials, for more than three decades. He wrote serious dramas along with light comedies with a tinge of critique, and developed his own unique style, which earned him popularity in the public. His subjects remained changing with time, but he did not deviate from his particular style of writing. This research paper analyzes his playwriting by covering some of his dramas, interviews and columns, and discloses the importance of realism in the drama of PTV. It also covers the factors involved in social realism. In the last decade, he, unlike Haseena Moin and Amjad Islam Amjad, stopped writing plays. This paper also traces the reasons of his self-imposed departure from the world of plays

Though this movement was basically meant for educating the Muslims of the Sub-continent yet it also proved to be a watershed in the political sphere of the Sub-continent. Sir Syed dedicated all his energies for the success of his movement. The role of this movement has also been very crucial in the Pakistan Movement. This article highlights the aims and objective of Ali Garh Movement.
