Abu Tayyeb al-Mutanabbi is one of the most prominent and influential poets of the Arabic language. Undoubtedly, he is a genius and a great master of Arabic verse. His poetry is remarkable for its originality and ingenuity of construction. Khawaja Moin-ud-Din is a popular play writer of Urdu. He wrote almost seventeen plays, some of them before independence and other post independence. He has not only pointed out social problems but also hinted at the conflict of Eastern and Western civilization in his plays. Each of his play shows the spirit of patriotism, attachment to the oriental traditions and sympathy with the nation. He won fame through his plays like "Taleem-e-Balghan, Mirza Ghalib Bandar Road Par, Lal Qilay Se Laloo Khait Tak, Zawal-e-Haidarabad, Nanhay Nawab. These plays have not only staged but also got telecast on PTV. The conflict of Eastern and Western civilization can easily be observed in these plays.

The Persian poetry of Allama Muhammad Iqbal is an extraordinary exposition of his poetical wisdom, philosophical thinking. He started writing in Persian in between 1896 to 1900. The one of important dimensions of the Persian poetry of Allama Iqbal is his intuitional genius which is reflected in his Persian poetry more effectively than in Urdu. As when he was writing his early Urdu poems like "Spas Janab Amir", "NalaeYateem", and "ShukriyaAngushtary" the Persian verses were also a part of these poems. The tradition of composing glorifying verses on the Holy Prophet (PBUH) has been very rich from the very time of his Holiness (PBUH). Following the Arabic tradition of Naat, poets of almost all important languages spoken by the Muslim have been writing Naat. Urdu language being no exception, is very fertile as regard to Naat writing. Abdul Aziz Khalid after the pioneers of Naat in Urdu-Ameer Minai, Muhsin Kakorvi and Haali-is considered one of the remarkable Naat writer. Khalid is well versed in many languages like Arabic, Persian, Hindi, Sanskrit and Urdu. He aptly employs his multilingual knowledge while composing Naat. He has six anthologies of Naat to his credit.
