    Mirza Saib Tabrezi is one of the prominent Iranian poets who travelled to the Sub-continent in Tamerlane period. He is among the representatives of Sabk e Hindi. Not only his contemporaries but also his successors benefitted from his work and style.  The hermit poet of the Sub-continent Afreen Lahori was very close to Saib. He adopted symbolic style for his verse composition like his predecessor Saib. Strikingly, Afreen opted the Sufic topics which Saib had already penned. Similarity of art and thought in both of Saib and Afreen can be pointed out in their works

    Hali's Arz-e-Hal and Iqbal's Shikwa and Jawab-e-Shikwa are three poems in which the national decline of the Muslims has been highlighted by comparing their past and present. Their central idea is based upon national revival of the Indian Muslims. Since the desire of national revival is common to Hali and Iqbal, there are many similarities between their poems. Arz-e-Hal is written in the form of Qaseeda, while Shikwa and Jawab-e-Shikwa are composed in Musaddas, but thematically they are similar. Despite being different in form and style, Shikwa and Jawab-e-Shikwa are the extensions of Arz-e-Hal. The article analyzes the similarities and differences of these poems.

        The 21th century Urdu poem exhibits great consciousness about objectivity and factuality. It describes the socio-economic and political conditions of Pakistan highlighting major accidents and incidents took place in this era. Poems written in this era are not merely a piece of poetic utterances and expressions but also documented historical instruments which contain circumstantial and objective details. Besides portraying subjective themes, they provide analysis of the effects of inhuman objective situations. There are numerous poems which share and illustrate such themes as post-nine-eleven, the war on terror, terrorism, suicide attacks, bomb blasts, sectarianism, prevailing violent behaviors, class differences and natural disasters and catastrophes like earthquakes, floods and the corona pandemic.

    Mathnavi Saif-al Muluk and Badi-al Jamal is a mythical parable which became popular worldwide especially in the sub-continent. Many poets and authors fascinated by its style and presentation hence employed it in their multi lingual renditions. Syed Mukarram Husain was also greatly impressed by its style and wrote a love story named as Bāgh-i Bahar. This important literary work was produced in the era of Alexander John Kalo in 1037 AH. Its only surviving manuscript is preserved in the Punjab University Lahore’s central library. The article introduces the same manuscript along with analysis of different epics of Iran and sub-continent written following the style of Saif-al Muluk

    Morphologically, all languages of the world are divided into four major groups, which are, in true sense, evolutionary stages of language development. They are Mono-syllabic or Isolating, Agglutinative, Inflectional or Amalgamative and Analytical languages. As for as Urdu is concerned, a group of linguists claim it to be a Dravidian language. They count it to be from Agglutinative group with other Dravidian languages. While, majority of linguists lays down that Urdu is an Aryan language and has entered into analytical group of languages.
