Annemarie Schimmel is a renowned Orientalist. The mystic tradition of Islam was her favorite area of interest. She loved mystic poetry very much. Besides Persian, she also took keen interest in Urdu poetry. She devoted herself for special study of Mirza Ghalib’s art and thought. She presented her finding in her famous book A Dance of Sparks-Imagery of Fire in Ghalib’s Poetry. She established in this book that the dance has special reference in different cultures. She also compared her loving Sufi personality of Mansoor Hallaj with Ghalib and gave an aesthetic touch to the motif of fire in dancing

This study explores the cultural and mythological symbols in Urdu ghazal that were introduced in the early seventies. Besides, it intends to look back to the past and find the significance and the relevance of the current scenario at that time. Muhammad Izhar- ul-Haq is a prominent and prolific poet who has also used mythological and cultural symbols from Arab and non Arab civilizations in Urdu ghazal. His first collection of Ghazals, Deewar-e Aab, is an important milestone in this new style of ghazal. Conclusively, the article is an attempt to cover the different stages of Muhammad Izhar- ul- Haq's civilizational sensibility in Deewar-e Aab

Mughal Aesthetics is one the most successful historical periods of the Indo-Islamic system of beauty and sense perception. It is expressed in all art forms of Mughal civilization. Mirza Bedil theorized beauty as the sublime presence of transcendent unity in the kaleidoscopic multiplicity. For him, aesthetically conscious subjects and ontological present worldly objects (or even beloved human person) are actively and necessarily involved in the formation of aesthetic experience. The short story started in Kashmiri language in the middle of the 20th century with the arrival of Progressive Movement. Kashmiri writers and poets were greatly inspired by this movement and started writing in Kashmiri language. Real life presentation of the prevailing situation is the hallmark of their writing. Akhtar Mohiuddin was the first short story writer of Kashmir who portrayed the contradictions of the middle class and the pulsating life among the backward class in his short stories. He started writing in Kashmiri and contributed greatly. It’s why he is remembered to be the pioneer of Kashmiri short story

New Historicism is a form of literary study based on the relationship between literature, culture and history. This postmodern literary theory depicts how to analysis and understand the intellectual history through literature. New Historicism claims that literature should be studied and interpreted within the context of both history of the author and history of the critic. The article is a study of Abdullah Husain’s novel Nadaar Log in light of New Historicism. Nadaar Log is a tragedy novel in which Abdullah has successfully presented the sorrowful picture emerged after the creation of Pakistan in 1947

Khawaja Muhammad Hashim Kishmi (RA) was a disciple of Hazrat Mujaddid Alf Sani (R.A.). Khawaja Kishmi belonged to a renowned family of scholars of state of Badakhshan. He was an excellent poet of Persian. He wrote biography of his spiritual mentor besides compiling the third volume of the famous Maktoobat Imam Rabbani. He was inclined to Naqshbandi Order of Sufism since his childhood. His curiosity to find a spiritual mentor led him to the Sub-continent. He met with Mir Muhammad Nauman, a disciple of Hazrat Mujaddid. He started correspondence with Hazrat Mujaddid who later called him to join his company and led him to the zenith of spiritual excellence. Zubdatul Muqamaat and Nasmatul Quds are his invaluable compilations which cover life and time of personalities of Naqshbandi Order. ہزار حکایتِ صوفیان- ایک تعارف
There are number of books whose writers are anonymous. Hazaar Hikayat-e Sufiyan is such a Persian manuscript whose writer is not known. There is no information about its writer or the period when it was written. One of its copies is available with Qaraman library, Istanbul-Turkiye. Renowned Iranian scholar Iraj Afshar introduced this manuscript after its due editing and annotation in 2003. This manuscript contains valuable information about Sufis of second and third century al-Hijra. Moreover, it is also considered to be one of the main sources of Syed Ali Hujveri’s Kashful Mahjub
