    Meer Amman is considered one of the best prose writers in the tradition of Dastan writing in Urdu. Most of the notable critics and researchers have done many valuable works about his stature in the Urdu literature. His works Bagh-o-Bahar, specially, and Ganj-e-Khubi, generally, contain his remarkable skills about prose writing. Along with this identity, there is much evidence that he was also a poet. His poetic work has not come out till now. Although a selection of his poetry exists as a part of a manuscript, which is kept in the Bodleian Library, University of Oxford, UK. This article first time discovers the Meer Amman’s poetry in Urdu and presents its critical text. It also contains the introduction of that specific manuscript that protected this valuable asset. Along with, this article introduces life and works of John Romer as well

    Maulvi Ferozuddin Daskavi (1864-1907) was an eminent scholar of Urdu, Persian and Islamic Studies. He wrote a number of books in Urdu on the different topics of Islamic Studies and Urdu grammar, but his dictionaries are the living reference of his scholarship. He compiled the dictionaries of Arabic, Persian and Urdu. He is one of the scholars who initiated the compilation of dictionary in the Punjab. His unilingual dictionary Urdu Lughat-i Ferozi has an importance in the early dictionaries of Urdu. That is why, He has earned an importance in the history of lexicography of Urdu. He also compiled dictionaries of Persian and Arabic. Urdu Lughat Ferozi has not only an importance in the history of lexicography, it is also an important scholarly work in this field, especially having legal and literary terms of daily use. It was written for the students, but it also shows light to the scholars of Urdu language and literature

    Allama Rukan ud din Dehlvi is a spiritual disciple of famous Sufi Hazrat Naseer al-Din Charagh e Dehli who belongs to a mystic school i.e. Chishti Nizami. He wrote a voluminous Mathnavi “Turfatul Fukaha” on Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh) in Feroz Shah Tuglaqs reign. The book is directly related with Hanafi fiqh, but there are some disagreements on some fiqhi problem with other school of Islamic jurisprudence. The poet writes about his great teachers and his Sheikh Naseer ud Din. He also describes the ambience of his monastery. He calls his Mathnavi a book of advice. The book consists of 335 chapters and there are 15200 verses in this book. This significant source was completed in 1383. The present research paper aims to provide a detailed evaluation and analysis of this great and forgotten book

    Shanul Haq Haqqee is a renowned Urdu linguist, translator, and lexicographer. His career spans over six decades. As a lexicographer, his work is regarded as the best service he has rendered for Urdu. The Oxford English Urdu Dictionary (OEUD) by him is one of the most famous single-volume English-Urdu dictionaries available in Pakistan. This dictionary was published two decades ago, and since then many of its reprints have come, but it was never revised. Similarly, this work has never been reviewed critically.
