A Hierarchical Framework for the Management of Virtualized Resources for Multi-Tier Services and Applications in Cloud Computing
Cloud computing has become a new age technology that has got huge potentials in enterprises and markets. It makes it possible to access applications and associated data from anywhere. Organizations are able to rent resources from the cloud for storage and other computational purposes to reduce cost (operational cost). Further, they can make use of wide access to applications, based on the pay-as-you-go model. Hence there is no need for getting licenses for individual products. However one of the major pitfalls in cloud computing is related to optimization of cloud virtualized resources. Because of the uniqueness of the cloud model,resource allocation is performed with the objective of optimizing computing, communication and storage resources. Many researchers propose different methods of optimizing cloud resources, some of which are the use of soft computing approaches. Many of these optimization algorithms proposed are still under investigation and modification to improve their capabilities in managing well, the computing, communication and storage resources in the cloud. For efficient virtualized resource management in the cloud, the existing (soft computing approaches) resource allocation algorithms are becoming inefficient with the increase inthe size of cloud data. In view of the above challenge,this research therefore proposes Hierarchical Framework of models for the adaptive management of virtualized resources for efficient resource allocation in cloud computing
Detection And Classification of Weft Knitted Fabrics Defects Using Gabor Wavelet
The globalization of competition, the complexity of the economy and the plethora of information available today place companiesin a more than shifting context with which they must cope. Accelerating change becomes a constant feature of business life. Companies need methodological help to process a lot of information, In today's competitive world, customers are demandingbetter quality products with fast and reliable deliveries. To meet this demand, new manufacturing technologies are developingrapidly, resulting in new products and improvements in manufacturing processes.Today’s challenging world demands minimum loss and waste from industries. Moreover, it has to ensure the required quantityand quality with customer delivery lead time. A Circular weft knitting machine contains different parts such as needles, cams,sinkers, Fabric takedown mechanism, creel, a yarn metering and storage device, yarn breakage indicator, feeders and lubricationsystem. All those machine parts are responsible to increase or decrease the productivity of weft knit fabric production as well asthe fabric quality. The Circular weft Knitting Machine has to stop when defects occurred and then faults are corrected, whichresults in a loss in time and efficiency in order to be ready to meet customer requirements; the goal is to quickly provide productsthat combine quality and competitive price. In this sense, effective monitoring is required to avoid defects and maintain highproductivity and customer required quality. The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze weft knitted fabric defects onthe weft circular knitting machine of knitting industries.This paper describes a computer vision-based fabric inspection system implemented on a weft circular knitting machine to detectdefection and classification of the weft-knitted fabric defects under construction. We using Gabor Wavelets that have been successfully applied to various machine vision applications such as Texture segmentation, Edge detection, and Boundary detection, a multi-scale and multi orientation Gabor filter scheme simulates the human eye and that’s applied to the weft-knittedfabric under construction. On-line weft knitted fabric defect detection was tested automatically by analyzing fabric imagescaptured by a digital camera using Gabor wavelets and classification (Identification) these fabric defects to known classes. Wesucceeded to detect weft knitted fabric defects and classify defect’s on the weft circular knitting machine at the same time themachine stops to correct the fabric defect to achieve customer required quantity and quality. As well as we cancel the fabricinspection process that means, saving money, time, manpower which leads to reducing production lead time and cost
Removal of Heavy Metal from Waste Water Using Activated Carbon from Rice Husk
Adsorption of heavy metals is a new technology for the treatment of wastewater containing different types of selected heavymetals. This study investigated the adsorption capacities of Pb and Cd onto ARHC and URHC made out of rice husks, availableas agriculture waste. The effect of various parameters such as pH, adsorbent dose, adsorbent concentration, and contact time onthe removal of Pb and Cd by ARHC and URHC were also examined. It was discovered that adsorption capacity decreases with anincrease in pH solution this so because the available Pb and Cd molecules are not able to cover all the exchangeable sites on thebiosorbent. The equilibrium data fitted with Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models, but best fitted with the Langmuir isotherm model. The adsorption kinetics for this study was best described by the pseudo-second-order kinetics
Modelling of Shear Banding in Plane Couette Flow of Non-linear Viscoelastic Fluids
We investigate shear banding phenomena in the plane Couette flow of viscoelastic fluids.The viscoelastic fluids are modelled viathe Giesekus constitutive equations with stress diffusion. The nonlinear and coupled systems of equations, comprising the momentum equation and the constitutive equations, are solved numerically using semi-implicit finite difference methods. Theeffects of the fluid parameters on the flow variables are also investigated. Under certain values of the material parameters, we observe formation of shear bands in plane Couette flow
Significance of Ornamentation in Yoruba Traditional Architecture
Culture and tradition are vital constituents of traditional architecture. However, in the period of proliferation and modernism,traditional architecture is fast disappearing in most parts of Africa due to negligence and incredulity of its importance. Reassessment becomes necessary as traditional architecture can be a source of inspiration even in contemporary times. Throughreview scoped literature, this study takes a critical look at how culture affects ornaments of architecture in Nigeria with Yorubaas a case study. This paper explores significance of ornamentation in Yoruba palace architecture. This means the creative objectswithin the old palace (‘afin’) constructed when the city was formed, including the courtyards (‘akodi’) and other structures withinthe palaces. It concludes with attributes of different palace ornamentation with clear direction on key roles in the study palacecultural belief and traditions. Data was sourced from fieldwork, oral interviews and relevant literature. Purposively selectedphotographs of palaces ‘Afin’ are used in discussing the state of the architecture and sculpture objects, therefore raises theenquiry of their connotation for upcoming generations. In other words, ornamentation has a basic statement for which it wascreated (meaning); the mutual concern and relevance of such artifact, form, or object gives it a name, root and status in additionto identity as the material culture of the designing community. The study reveals the benefits of palace ornament to Yorubatradition and culture and the importance of culture and history of people if the memories of their past are celebrated and theircenotaphs and antique places of pride are intact. The Effect of Professionalism, Leadership Style, Organizational Commitment and Locus of Control on Auditor Performance (Study at a Public Accounting Firm in Jakarta)
The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of professionalism, leadership style, organizational commitment and locusof control on the performance of auditors of public accounting firms in Jakarta Province. The population sampling technique is purposive sampling. Samples are the auditors who participate in the survey; 74 respondents in 15 public accounting firms.Hypothesis test on this research is based on the multiple regression analysis. Based on the result, it was concluded that theprofessionalism and leadership style partially had a significant positive effect on auditor performance. Organizational commitment and locus of control partially had no significant effect on the auditor's performance. Professionalism, leadershipstyle, organizational commitment and locus of control similarly had a significant positive effect on auditor performance
The Effect of Profitability and Capital Structure on Firm Value Through Dividend Policy in Transportation Companies Listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the Period of 2015-2018
This study aims to analyze the effect of profitability and capital structure on dividend policy on transportation companies listed on the IDX for the 2015-2018 period, to analyze profitability and capital structure on company value in transportation companies listed on the IDX for the 2015-2018 period, to analyze the effect of dividend policy on company value in transportation companies listed on the IDX for the 2015-2018 period, and analyzes the effect of profitability and capital structure on company value with dividend policy as an intervening variable in transportation companies listed on the IDX for the 2015-2018 period. The sample in this study were 26 companies. The analysis technique uses path analysis. The results showed that profitability and capital structure had no influence on dividend policy in transportation companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) for the period 2015-2018. Profitability and capital structure have an influence on company value in transportation companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) for the period 2015-2018. The dividend policy has no effect on company value in transportation companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the period 2015-2018. This can happen because shareholders only want to get profits quickly or in the short term by taking advantage of capital gains
THE Influence of Independence, Competence, Work Experience, and Professional Ethics on Auditor’s Performance: Empirical Study Done to Public Accounting Firms in East Java
This study explained the influence of independence, competence, work experience, and professional ethics on auditor’s performance. Primary data were obtained from questionnaires distributed to auditors in Public Accounting Firm (KAP) in East Java as respondents. 100 samples were selected using Purposive Sampling Technique. It means all variables affect the auditor’s performance individually. Based on the data analysis, independent variables including independence, competence, work experience and professional ethics had significant influence on auditor’s performance. Independence was reflected in auditor’s ability to uncover evidence-based findings, competence was indicated by auditors’ understanding on clients’ conditions based on Public Accountant Professional Standards (SPAP) and code of ethics, work experience was indicated by auditors’ ability to make decisions with less errors, while Professional ethics was shown by auditors’ ability to carry out responsibilities with regard to public interests rather than personal interests. This study was expected to provide valuable insights to the improvement of auditors’ expertise and ability for better audit outcome
Low Light Underwater Image Enhancement Algorithm Based on Fusion Histogram Equalization Technique
One of the main challenges during monitoring the underwater images is unbalanced illumination and poor contrast. These problems added a hazy appearance in the visuals for underwater images. An effective underwater image enhancement fusion algorithm founded on the CLAHE technique for deferent color spaces were used in this article. At first, convert the original underwater image from RGB space to HSV space. Then, the algorithm separately applies CLAHE in this color space. After that, the HSV enhanced images are converted back to RGB spaces. This enhanced image convert to LAB space and sharpening filter is applied to demonstrate the contrast and converted back to RGB spaces. The results of investigational work show that contrasted and the customary enhancement methods of underwater images, such that MSE, UQI and PSNR, of the proposed strategy, are joined ideally. And has been seen that the proposed framework superior to previously existing strategies for improvement of underwater image. It can be seen that the details proposed method of the image that more abundant, image brightness is improved, and the color is more distinct and the image details are clearer
Reliability Analysis of a Pre-Stressed Concrete Beam in Flexural Failure
The Reliability Analysis of a Prestressed Concrete Beam (PCB) was presented using First Order Reliability Method and Euro code 2 procedures to carry out the analysis. The results show that the safety of the PCB in bending decreased from 2.9 to 1.0 and 3.1 to 2.6 as prestress force and the depth from the extreme compressive fiber to the neutral axis of the beam increased from 20kN to 100kN and 150mm to 350mm respectively, therefore the PCB is safer at low prestress force and depth to the bottom layer of the beam. Also, the target safety indices considering bending criteria of the prestressed beam was obtained to be 2.01
