    Improving Fibre Optics Transmission with Wave Length Division Multiplex through Routed-Switching Network

    The Optics Fiber link is implemented to satisfy various types of networks, with a wide range of transmission capabilities and improved speed in signal delivery. The link carries multiple signals and for adequate transmission, multiplexing of signals, each signal component, is aggregated and transmitted over a common link which is regarded as multiplexing. The wavelength-routed network bridges the gap of the timeshare, which has retardation on speed and efficiency. The wavelength division multiplex (WDM) is a multiplexing technique designed to suit fiber optics and achieves speed demands, as against time-division multiplexing(TDM) for analog continuous signals (CT) and frequency division multiplexing(FDM) for discrete-time signals(DT). The synchronous optical network (SONNET) and synchronous digital hierarchy (SDH) and the Asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) create an inter-switching system using various matrix dimensions, of 2 X 2, 8 X 8 and other multiples to achieve a versatile routing switching technique. Wavelength division Multiplex and it’s a dense modification (DWDM); have greatly improved the quality and speed of signal transmission over all other techniques

    City-wide Quality Assessment of Sandcrete Masonry Blocks Produced in Lagos, Ibadan and Abeokuta Metropolitan-cities in South-western Nigeria

    In this research work, a total of nine thousand (9,000) numbers of Sandcrete masonry blocks and another total of nine thousand (9,000) numbers of Sandcrete masonry blocks were collected as Test-samples from three hundred (300) Sandcrete block-making factories, which are randomly sited in thirty (30) rapidly developing towns/localities located within three (3) highly-populated and state-capital metropolitan-cities—i.e. ‘Lagos’, ‘Ibadan’ and ‘Abeokuta’ in South-Western Nigeria. Thus, from the cumulative total number of eighteen thousand (18,000) Sandcrete block test-samples, each of the thirty (30) numbers of ‘block test-samples’ and each of the thirty (30) numbers of ‘block test-samples’ which were collected from each of the ten (10) Block-making factories per town/locality was subjected to two (2) critical quality-evaluation tests—i.e. Compressive-strength test [using a compression-testing machine] and Water absorption coefficient test [in accordance with standard established procedures and then, the mean values were computed and adopted as the representative/characteristic data for each Block-making factory. Consequently, the obtained results/data were then comparatively analyzed using the Standards Organization of Nigeria ‘SON’standard specified (recommended) values to empirically evaluate the Block-making/production quality of each of town/locality per city and of each city. Amongst other things, the comparative analysis of the obtained results/data showed that: while all of the tested Sandcrete masonry blocks produced in Lagos city and Ibadan city are classified as substandard—having failed to meet (fulfill) the standard requirements; just of the Sandcrete masonry blocks, and as much as of the Sandcrete masonry blocks produced in Abeokuta city are classified as standard—having successfully met (satisfied) the  Standard requirements—thus, making them the most ideal for construction purposes

The analyze the effect of incentives and career development on employee job satisfaction in sales units, analyze the effect of incentives and career development on employee motivation, analyze the effect of job satisfaction on the work motivation of employees in sales units, and analyze the effect of incentives and career development on work motivation through job satisfaction of employees in sales units of PT. Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. The sample in this study was 31 people. The data analysis technique used is path analysis. The analysis shows that incentives and career development have an effect on job satisfaction. Incentives and career development affect motivation. Job satisfaction affects motivation. Job satisfaction mediates the effect of incentives and career development on motivation

    The Apparent Structure of the magnetic anomalies occurring in Bateke Plateau /Kinshasa-Democratic Republic of Congo

    The magnetic field in the Bateke plateau has been observed using a proton magnetometer. The survey was made during the period from June to October 2015. The aim of the study is to determine the magnetic anomalies of this area. The observations were extended in the area planning from latitude 04°16’40’ S to longitude 16°42’30 W. While the geological structure of this area presents quite smooth variations, the geomagnetic distribution shows some irregularities associated with moho structure of this zone

    Review of Stoichiometric Technique for Better Performance of the Boiler

    The combustion within the boiler burns fuel to create heat energy which then produces electrical power. The combustion of fuel is its reaction with oxygen available in the air. The amount of fuel that can be well burnt is limited by the quantity of oxygen. Once all the fuel is not burnt at all, some of it stays in the boiler and other quantity goes to the atmosphere. Most of the fuels used in the boiler are hydrocarbons which release hydrogen and carbon as residuals. It causes small efficiency and degradation of the air. It is needed to take the faction of air/fuel to the optimum value to reduce these problems. This paper provides different reviewed algorithms that control the combustion within the boiler and the role of environmental temperature. The author found that the separation of the oxygen from the air combined with the preheating both fuel and oxygen taking into account environmental temperature would provide better stoichiometric values, which improve the performance

    Career development for TNI AD officers as we all know is different from career development carried out by other agencies and organizations. The career development of officers in the Kodam V/Brawijaya organization must be carried out in a planned and continuous manner so that optimal results will be obtained in increasing the professionalism of Kodam V/Brawijaya soldiers which are demands that must be answered to face the challenges of future tasks that are increasingly complex according to the increasingly advanced times and modern. The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the implementation of the career development for TNI-AD officers at Kodam V/Brawijaya in 2019 based on KEP. KASAD No. 483 of 2014 concerning Career Development for TNI AD Officers and describing and analyzing the factors that support and hinder the implementation of Career Development for TNI-AD Officers at Kodam V/Brawijaya in 2019 based on KEP. KASAD No. 483 of 2014 concerning Career Development for TNI AD Officers. To reveal this reality, a qualitative research method is used where the data obtained is processed by organizing and sorting data into patterns or categories and basic unit descriptions so that they can be read and interpreted. Based on the facts and phenomena obtained in the field, the following research results are obtained: First, career development for officers in the form of dismissal and appointment of positions and transfer of positions of officers is carried out by taking into account the periodization, family of positions and parameters of officers' positions in accordance with the norms and process of lawyers. Second, the implementation of the promotion of officers as a form of career coaching consists of promotion of awards and regular promotions, the implementation of which starts with proposals, the implementation of promotion sessions according to the structure then the results are compiled for updating. Third, the selection of education for officers as part of career development is divided into various categories and stages with the aim of increasing the ability of officers to anticipate changes in the national environment. The factors that influence the career development of TNI AD officers consist of Internal Factors in training soldiers in the form of welfare, morale, mental, discipline and skills of soldiers and Internal Factors in training soldiers in the form of welfare, morale, mental, discipline and skills of soldiers in personnel development. at Kodam V/Brawijaya. Career development for officers must be supported by welfare in order to support high morale and mentality as well as discipline and skills for officers to carry out their duties and challenges ahead. The Policy Mechanism for the career development of this officer begins with dismissal and appointment in a position and transfer of position, rank and selection of education will not run optimally if it is not supported by adequate funding sources.  The major proposition in this research is the implementation of career development for TNI AD officers with a focus on the policies of dismissal, appointment in position, transfer of positions, ranks and selection of education aimed at the successful implementation of TNI AD tasks

    This study aims to examine the effect of financial technology, demographics, and financial literacy on the financial decision making of the productive age population in Surabaya. The type of research is quantitative and conclusive in the form of causality.The data used are primary data obtained from the questionnaire. The population which is used as much as 180 respondents wasselected by way of judgmental sampling. The characteristics of respondents are the productive age population in Surabaya whohas income and work. Mechanical analysis of the use of researchers is an analysis of regression doubled by using SPSS softwareversion 20. Results of the study showed that the variables demographics are proxied by type of sex, income, and age did notinfluence on the financial management behavior in the population age productive in Surabaya.     Comparative Study on Mass loss by the Sun and Energy Available for Utilization between two Tropical Stations in Nigeria

    The electromagnetic radiation emitted from the Sun is called solar radiation. Almost all life on Earth evolved with the Sun as a major influence. The rising and setting Sun defined the daily cycle we still respond to biologically. This study investigates theyearly, monthly and daily variation of mass loss by the Sun for two locations; Gusau and Calabar situated across the Sahelianand Coastal climatic zones of Nigeria using daily, monthly and yearly global solar radiation meteorological data obtained fromthe National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) during the period of twenty two years (July 1983 – June 2005). Theenergy available for utilization based on the mass loss by the Sun for the two locations was also investigated. The fluctuations inthe results revealed that the mass loss by the Sun varies significantly from year to year, month to month and from day to day; thus, indicating that it is site dependent and strongly depends on the global solar radiation and solar activities in each of the locations. The highest yearly, monthly and daily mass losses by the Sun for Gusau are 6.3155 1017 kg y -1 in 1985, 5.5691 1016 kg m -1 in April and 2.3482 1015 kg d -1 on April 21, 1985 respectively and the lowest yearly, monthly and daily mass losses by the Sun are 5.6423 1017 kg y -1 in 1999, 4.2740 1016 kg m -1 in December and 1.3031 1015 kg d -1 on December 25, 1999 respectively. The highest yearly, monthly and daily mass losses by the Sun for Calabar are 4.6558 1017 kg y -1 in 1984, 4.6451 1016kg m -1 in February and 2.0252 1015 kg d -1 on February16, 1984 respectively and the lowest yearly, monthly and daily mass losses by the Sun are3.6806 1017 kg y-1 in 1983, 2.5346 1016 kg m-1 in August and 1.9546 1014 kg d-1 on August7, 1983 respectively. The results indicated that the solar energy available for utilization for Gusau are greater than that of Calabar and this is a reflection of the abundant amount of global solar radiation received on a horizontal surface for Gusau as compared to Calabar
