In the supply chain and logistics industry, the precision of the data assets inventory plays a crucial role in warehouse activities.  The operations like storage locations arrangement, inventory management, and maintaining the flow of incoming and outcoming goods lead to the success of the warehouse.  Nowadays, most people are preferring online shopping all over the world because it is faster than local trade.  Thus, there's massive information in the supply chain and logistics sector to explore in order to improve operations of the warehouse such as receiving, ordering, shipping, storage assignment to facilitate the automation in the warehouse.  This study is conducted to improve warehouse activities by automating storage and inventory management.  A software program was developed with sets of rules, and an algorithm to optimize the inventory operations with the help of RFID technology.  The predefined rules help in giving priorities to some of the selected products to store and retrieve in the indicated locations.  The UHF RFID reader is attached to the entrance of the gate of the warehouse to facilitate the reading of incoming goods.  Once the goods arrive in the warehouse, the storage location function will assign to each product the storage location and update status in the database. A handheld reader facilitates inventory management and communicates with the application via a wireless network and finally store data in the database for future use. After developing this system, a test was conducted for testing the feasibility and applicability of the system.  The output showed that the inventory management operation was made strides, and the correctness of inventory location increased from 72.8% to 99%. The cycle time moreover decreases from 50 minutes to 18 minutes which is down to 28.79%

    Get PDF
Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to present a critical review of the contributions of more than one theory to fraud research (which is often referred to as “theoretical triangulation or integration” or “theoretical pluralism) in a public organization,”, with a particular focus on the manner in which chosen variables from a given theory could be employed to develop research assumptions. Design/methodology/approach:  The authors conduct an analysis of how to employ theoretical integration and methodological monism in fraud research. To this end, they use three theories for illustrative purposes. Findings: The authors argue that using theories with varying epistemological notions that are captured by appropriate research methods enables one to explore and account for different layers of theoretical concepts pertaining to fraud in organizations. Originality/value: The paper contributes to the thinking about the interaction between theory applications by demonstrating that theoretical integration is more meaningful than single theories in order to provide deeper understandings of fraud phenomena

Fault Identification on a Bearing Component of a Rotating Machine Using Vibration Spectrum Analysis

    Get PDF
This paper presents an analysis of the vibration behavior of a rotating machine based on the signal spectrum for detecting localized defects in rotating bearings. This approach can extract the characteristic frequencies related to the defect from the resonant frequency band of the vibration signal. The technique is demonstrated on a machine tool with ball bearings (bearing number “2” and bearing number “4”) under a simulated crack on the bearing cage. Experimental results show some preliminary evidence that the vibration spectrum technique can be used to locate and predict the failure of rotating machine rolling element bearings from vibration data

Development of Counter Based Digital Capacitance Meter Implementation using Synchronized Relaxation Oscillator

    Get PDF
A digital capacitance meter is a piece of electronic test equipment used to measure capacitance mostly of discrete capacitors. This project presents the design and implementation of asynchronous digital capacitance meter using the principle that when a capacitor is connected across a constant DC source, it charges at an exponential rate which is dependent on the capacitance of the capacitor seen by the source as well as the resistance seen by the capacitor in the circuit. In this research, an unknown capacitor whose capacitance is to be determined was used in the timing circuit of a 555-timer base monostable (One-shot) multivibrator to give out a single pulse whose ON duration is a function of the capacitor. This pulse was synchronized to a reference clock of frequency 7.2kHz using a positive edge-triggered D flip-flop to give a count enable signal to a decade counter and ensure that the count is stopped whenever it reaches the capacitance of the capacitor used in the timing circuit. The device was tested on different capacitors (both electrolytic and ceramic) and the results of the capacitance measurement show that the device was able to measure capacitors precisely within their dynamic range of values

A single parent is one of the social parts who needs to get special attention from society. Because there are many people and some of them are not really ready to live within their status so they become depressed, not having self suffcient that can effects their personal life, families and community. Based on these problems, it needs social behavior research of single parent that relates depression, individual encouragement factor and inhibition. So that, they can live normally in their social live. Hopefully, it will be useful for any single parents, families and surrounding community as well policy makers/government. The research used descriptive qualitative approach to explain and described the social behavior of single parents in living family life in community, with the theory of social behavior as the main theory. Informants consist of 14 people, 7 single fathers and 7 single mothers. The results of this study indicate that the majority of single parents experience depression at first, then it decreases because: approach to God, encouragement from close relatives, consultation efforts, busyness in the family, earning a living and activities in the community. His independence is formed as his depression decreases, his educational potential, and the help of his close relatives, their independence is passed on their children. The driving factors for single parents so that they can continue to live anormal family life are religious encourgement, close relative, and a good future for children. The inhibiting factors are economy, health, aging, social stigma. For a single parent needs to relay its life solely because of God, consistency and commitment with his or her guidelines. Realizing that the family trusted, avoided depression tried to be independent, self-attendet, made improvements, occupied positive activities knitting close relationships, staying healthy, patient, grateful and optimistic.when marriage is the best solution, there is no need to hold back . Be the best figure fot his chidren, motivate him, and promote deliberation. For close relatives it needs to increase their concern for a single parent to be independent. For religious figures to participate in mobilizing a single parent and directing the group to make the climate condicive to a single parents life. For governments to follow the registry, monitoring, coaching, and training to help single mothers, so they can go back to normal family life in their community. made improvements, occupied positive activities knitting close relationships, staying healthy, patient, grateful and optimistic.when marriage is the best solution, there is no need to hold back. Get PDF
Agro-vet services such as animal feeds, vaccinations, drugs, feeders, drinkers, technical assistance and extension services play an essential role in poultry farming sector productivity. However, poultry farmers face a challenge in accessing these services, such as nearby agro-vet shops and extension services, since they rely on word of mouth and their own husbandry experience, which is inaccurate and unreliable. Developing a mobile application for enhancing agro-vet services accessibility to poultry farmers is very important for improving poultry production, and that is the focus of this paper. Data were collected from 115 poultry farmers in Arusha and Dar es Salaam regions; a simple random sampling method was used. 70% of the respondents declared to depend on word of mouth from family members, other farmers and neighbors, while 30% relied on their own experience in farming. The reason was that the agro-vet services (agro-vet shops and extension officers) are far from their localities, mainly found in towns and marketplaces. In this study, Poultry Service Tanzania, a mobile application, was developed to ensure the easy accessibility of these agro-vet services to poultry farmers. Therefore, the mobile application saves time and cost and provides farmers with easiness and accurate information for poultry improvement

Social-cultural and economic drivers affect women's involvement and equal participation in leadership in cooperative movements. Although many countries have been able to develop the appropriate measures, implementations are still the major throwback to the realization of these development agendas. For sustainability, an enabling environment should be created to enable all stakeholders to actively take part in cooperative movement regardless of the various challenges. The study aimed to research on how the social, economic and cultural drivers determine women’s ability to participate in the running of and day-to-day activities of the cooperative movement in Kieni East Sub County, in Nyeri County, Kenya. The study used a descriptive research design to accomplish its objectives and the target population was 205 women. The study employed purposive sampling and the target members were identified and then a selection of the members done with regard to the study objectives. The study used primary data and secondary data. The data was collected by use of both semi-structured questionnaires and interview guides. Data analysis was conducted objectively. Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 20.0 was utilized to analyze the collected data. Data analysis employed both quantitative and qualitative analysis; quantitative analysis used both descriptive and inferential statistics. Qualitative analysis on the other hand used content analysis. The findings were presented with the help of tables, frequencies, and percentages. Pilot test of the measures was conducted against a prospective sample population to measure validity and reliability. Test re-test method was used to measure the validity of the research instruments. The study concluded that social-cultural factors affect women in participating in leadership positions in cooperative movements. It is therefore the mandate of every individual, the government and the non-governmental organization to look on how to create awareness concerning women in leadership in order to reduce the gap that has been evident in the study. Future studies should try to comparatively compare these results to other sub-county away from Mt. Kenya, or also seek to evaluate how these factors affect women's participation in a leadership position in other sectors like the private sector of employment

Modified LEACH and Fuzzy C-Means Based Clustering Protocol for Wireless Sensor Networks

    Get PDF
Wireless Sensor Networks formed by grouping of small batteries equipped sensor nodes, faces the major issue in optimization of energy when designing the routing protocols. Clustering based routing algorithm proved energy efficiency in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), in which appropriate cluster formation and cluster heads (CHs) selection is crucial for energy saving. Thus, this paper proposes an approach which uses fuzzy C-Means (FCM) in cluster formation and uses the three parameters for cluster head selection: the new energy parameter considered threshold value, the residual energy of each node and the distance from node to base station (BS). FCM algorithm creates uniform clusters in the network area and reduces the distances between each node and their corresponding cluster head node. The proposed clustering protocol can give longer network lifetime when it is implemented in MATLAB simulation environment and compared to LEACH. Simulation results tell that the proposed protocol overcome the performance of LEACH protocol in terms of saving energy and reducing dead nodes to prolong the network lifetime

Study of Special Relationship & Transfer Pricing in Indonesia

    Get PDF
Transfer pricing is currently an important issue to be handled seriously by the Directorate General of Taxes in Indonesia, because the tax is the main income of the State, which is not only related to budget but also needs in the economic sector, so it needs clear rules, especially in handling multinational companies, which have special relations with domestic and foreign taxpayers as source countries. A study of the special relationship in taxation is defined as a business relationship between two or more taxpayers and ultimately results in less payable income tax than it should be. This special relationship includes business, employment, ownership or equity participation, control, either through management or the use of technology. Transfer pricing is often misused by business actors, by conducting transactions with an unreasonable value, despite all that, actually between the seller and the buyer have made a real price agreement, because the price paid by the buyer taxpayer to the seller's taxpayer does not match written. This is due to avoid paying high-income taxes. The research method is a systematic investigation to increase the amount of knowledge, it is also a systematic and organized attempt to investigate certain problems that require answers. This research is qualitative, which intends to understand the phenomena experienced by research subjects such as behavior, perception, motivation, action and others holistically, and by means of descriptions in the form of words and language, in a special natural context. and by making use of various natural methods. This type of research is normative, which is commonly referred to as doctrinal legal research or also called library research. It is called doctrinal law research because this research is only aimed at written regulations so that the research is very closely related to the library because this normative law will require secondary data in the library. Transfer prices are a systematic manipulation of prices with the aim of reducing artificial profits, making it appear as if the company is losing money, avoiding taxes or duties in a country. Therefore, it is necessary to have a transfer price agreement between the taxpayer and the Directorate General of Taxes regarding the fair selling price of the products produced to parties who have a special relationship. This is to reduce the occurrence of transfer pricing misuse by Multi-National companies. What has been agreed between the taxpayer and the Directorate General of Taxes is the selling price of the products produced (fair value) and the number of royalties and so on. &nbsp
