    Study of Integrated Referral Service System : Study Implementation of Malang Mayor Regulation for Handling the Social weaker sections, in Indonesia

    This study was conducted to describe and analyze the implementation of an Integrated Referral Service System based on Malang Mayor Regulation Number 5 of 2020 concerning the Establishment of an Integrated Referral Service System for Handling the Poor and Poor People in the Social Service of Malang City. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative research with an inductive approach. This research was conducted at describes clearly, in-depth, and systematically the implementation of the Integrated Referral Service System run by the Social Service of Malang City. This Integrated Referral Service System aims to provide convenience for the poor in Malang City to get social assistance. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the Integrated Referral Service System has been carried out correctly by the procedural. Several inhibiting factors, namely: Serviced offices are still limited so that they need to be added or expanded for service convenience, then the delivery of information to the community is not comprehensive resulting in not all people knowing about this Integrated Referral Service System, irresponsible officers and lack of integrity, disciplinary officers and to subjectivity makes the implementation of an Integrated Referral Service System that aims to be right on target to be not right on target. And they are not finding Standard Operating Procedures uploaded on the official website of the Malang City Social Service even though this is very useful as an additional medium of information to the public about this Integrated Referral Service System. However, there is support from the Malang City Government such as the availability of supporting facilities and infrastructure for adequate officers, the existence of a straightforward Standard Operating Procedure as a work reference, and supported by incentives for officers to make the Integrated Referral Service System run appropriately according to the main task. And existing functions.     Design and development of Smart Water Quality Monitoring System Using IoT

    As water is one of the basic needs of human beings, shortage of water we cannot live on. Water pollution and scarcity, are current global problems that require modification of water resources and guiding principles from the international level to individual wells. Water pollution is the leading cause of diseases worldwide. Previously, water quality monitoring was done through a physical collection of data; there was no smart sensor system. This led to inefficiency, especially, in real-time data access, device monitoring, and less accurate collection of data. There is a need to integrate mechanisms to monitor water quality in real-time, to ensure a safe supply of drinking water. Hence, the idea of the Internet of Things (IoT) which allows connections between various devices that can exchange and gather data emerged. To solve these issues, a low-cost real-time that is real-time platform based on the Internet of Things (IoT), and LoRa (Long Range) technology is proposed for monitoring water quality. The platform will measure and collect critical information about water quality. Such quality involves parameters like pH value, turbidity, and temperature of the surrounding atmosphere. The platform will additionally establish communication to the end-user, through LoRa Gateway and the internet. It will simultaneously provide data access, accurate data collection, and supervision of the component, whereby the user will notice if the virtual device is not receiving any data at a given time interval. The developed platform will consist of five different parts: sensor devices, IoT Board, Lora Gateway, cloud server, and user domain. The Lora Getaway will transmit the sensor data to the cloud through the internet to the cloud server. The cloud server is equipped with Matlab analysis and visualization applications which manipulate and analyze the data, to monitor the quality of the water. In the end, the useful information is visualized from the user domain for any decision-making process. The paper argues that the proposed platform is important in ensuring a safe supply of quality drinking water for people worldwide

This study attempts to understand if these calls are due to “cartelization by political bodies” as described by Libecap, in 1972, promotion of self-benefits, or genuine calls based on disastrous impacts of global warming and general climate changes. Alternative energy sources and their present sustainability will be examined, policies affecting fossil fuels over time will be identified, the effects of these global and national policies, the politics behind calls and perspectives from various continents will be discussed, the lowest and highest GHG emitters will be identified, and recommendations will be made on the best course of action based on reviews and findings from around the world. Furthermore, this study understands that the world is a global village and considered the effect of climate change as a global challenge, however, its arguments and suggestion were made by critical analysis of the causation, major beneficiaries of policies, effects on countries dependent on fossil fuels, responses towards the effect of emission, and impact of climate change

    Development of IoT-Based System for Monitoring Electrical Energy Consumption of the Smart and Rental Houses in Tanzania

    Electricity has a significant impact on human productivity when using a variety of electrical appliances in households. Appliances hooked into the electric network are now causing an increase in electric energy usage in rental homes hence the increases in the user's electricity expenses. Some tenants consume high electrical energy compared to others due to the electrical meters cannot determine the amount of usage by each tenant in the house,  all tenants contribute the same universal payment which is not realistic. To offset these costs, a monitoring system for electric energy consumption based on each appliance in a household is formulated, allowing customers to see how much money and energy they are wasting. Different studies have thus far proposed monitoring electric energy consumption in households. However, most of the solutions did not consider the electric energy consumption of individual appliances which is a main problem for the end-users. This paper presents an Internet of Things-based system to provide information to the users through an application on their daily consumption usage updates whether they are online with the presence of a Wi-Fi module. The system has a backup battery to allow giving information in case the power supply is off. Moreover, our system is designed to monitor the real-time energy consumption of individual appliances.  Our results show that 90% of end-users that observed the implemented system are capable of monitoring daily electrical consumption hence tenants can put a good budget on their purchase of electrical units

    Stakeholders Evaluation of Impact of Team Effectiveness on Project Performance among Building Professionals in Nigeria

    The impact of team effectiveness and teamwork on project performance cannot be overemphasized in construction projects. To create and implement a team effectively, a management system must design to fit the team environment to enhance productivity. The study aims to evaluate the influence of teamwork on project performance among Nigerian building professionals and also to determine the impact of team effectiveness on project performance among Nigerian building professionals. The population of the study comprises client organizations, architects, builders, engineers, and quantity surveyors in the construction industry. The study adopted random sampling techniques. A total of 55 questionnaires were distributed to the selected respondents. The population consists of architects, builders, quantity surveyors, and civil engineers who are actively involved in building projects. 40 questionnaires were used for further analysis. The findings indicated that team effectiveness makes the project finish on time and was ranked first with a mean score of (4.55). All the factors of team effectiveness are strongly associated with project performance. This is a result of all the factors having mean item scores above 4.00. Also, the result of the impact of teamwork on project performance revealed that workload sharing is one of the ways teamwork increases work productivity and has the highest mean score (4.73). Other factors on the impact of teamwork have a mean item score above 4.00.  This study recommends all the stakeholders in the building industry should embrace teamwork so that its benefits on project performance will be feasible and to ensure that project objectives are realized

    Student’s Indiscipline in Secondary Schools: The case of the Eastern Part of Ethiopia

    The indiscipline challenge in schools is ranked as a major problem among students of primary and secondary schools in Ethiopia. Disruptive behavior is a concern to schools and parents and to fellow pupils, whose education may be adversely affected. The aim of this investigation was to identify the level of students' discipline problems and the degree of disruption to teaching and learning in senior secondary schools in the Eastern part of Ethiopia (SSEE). This study surveyed four hundred teachers and one thousand five hundred sixty students at SSEE. Results of the study confirmed that students and teachers were experiencing high levels of school indiscipline with the most frequent being cheating, disrespecting teachers and principals, late coming, skipping classes, hyperactivity, and lack of concentration, deliberate defiance of school policies, and using mobile phones in classes. In addition, the degree of the effect that indiscipline in teaching-learning was extremely high in the study area. The study highlights the necessity for further assessment of the causes and management of indiscipline in Ethiopian secondary education classrooms

    Simulation of a Single Phase Inverter with Unipolar Voltage Switching Using Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation (SPWM) Technique

     The choice of the switching techniques used is key to good inverter performance, as it could offer reduced switching losses, generate less EMI, reduce filter size and offer better THD performance. To improve inverter performance these factors must be put into consideration. This Paper presents the Modelling, and Simulation of Single Phase Sinusoidal pulse Width Modulation (SPWM) Inverter With Unipolar Voltage Switching using the SIMULINK toolbox of MATLAB software. In this switching scheme, the high-frequency triangular carrier wave is compared with two sinusoidal modulating signals having the same amplitude and a frequency of 50Hz. The two sinusoids are  180° out of phase. The output is used to switch the two legs of the H-bridge inverter in a complementary fashion. The results obtained from the simulation show an output with the fundamental voltage of 283.4 V at the frequency of 50Hz and a total harmonic distortion (THD) of 64.42 % when the filter was not applied. However, with the incorporation of LC filter the THD was further reduced to 2.7% at the fundamental voltage of 236.6 V. However, Without output voltage feedback control, change in load resistance from 10 Ω to 50 Ω marginally increased the fundamental voltage and percentage THD up to 239.5 V and 4.22%. The experimental setup also presents similar waveforms

    Aflatoxins are mycotoxins produced naturally by some mold strains, such as Aspergillus flavus and Aspergillus parasiticus. Weather factors, notably moisture levels of more than 18 percent and temperatures of more than 32°C, influence the proliferation of aflatoxin-producing fungus. Aflatoxin pollution is a danger to human and animal healthiness. As a result, there is a pressing need to control aflatoxin, particularly in crops like maize, in countries where aflatoxin susceptibility is high, such as Tanzania. Several aflatoxin management solutions are being developed, however, for them to be effective, accurate identification of fungus or aflatoxins contamination on grain surfaces is required. While the majority of the known solutions include growing and identifying the fungus responsible or using Higher-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPCL), Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC), and Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assays (ELISA) to detect aflatoxin early, this review underlines the prospect of employing computer-based techniques to detect aflatoxin early. Because of these options, producers will be able to quickly detect aflatoxin contamination and, as a result, make informed decisions about how to prevent and/or reduce aflatoxin contamination, hence enhancing maize quality and storability

    Experimental Investigation of Effects of Magnetic Water on Germination and Growth Rate of Coriander (Coriandrum sativum) in ex-vitro Conditions

    A magnetic field can be macroscopic in nature (current in a wire) or microscopic (current due to electrons in atoms) and it affects all living organisms since it is naturally a component of our environment known as the geomagnetic field. Various researches have shown that a plant’s overall growth and development is affected either positively or negatively by a magnetic field. Research has also shown that magnetic fields can also influence plant’s growth by applying it directly or indirectly. A cost-effective method of applying an indirect magnetic field to a plant is by magnetic water treatment, which is done by exposing ordinary water to a magnetic field and then irrigating the plants. The objective of this research was to determine the effects of magnetic water on the germination and growth rate of coriander in ex vitro conditions. There were 11 different treatments in this experiment including the control, with five different magnetic field strengths and two different exposure times for each magnetic field strength. The germination rate was observed and recorded after two weeks, while growth rate measurements were made starting from the third week after planting. Results showed that magnetic water treatment did not influence germination, but had a positive effect on the growth rate of coriander

    This article aims to examine the regulation of Prejudicial Geschil in investigating criminal cases, which involves a civil law element in the applicable laws and regulations, and the legal consequences of Prejudicial Geschil in criminal cases which involve civil law elements. The method used is a normative legal research method. The results show that Prejudicial rules in examining criminal and civil cases are regulated in the Criminal Code; Regulation of the Supreme Court Number 1 of 1956 concerning the Legal Relations between the Civil Court and the Criminal Court; Law Number 4 of 2004 concerning Judicial Power; Number 6 of 1992 concerning Settlement of Cases in the High Court; Supreme Court Decision Number 413 K/Kr/1980 dated August 26, 1980, and Number 129K/Kr/1979 dated April 16, 1980; and Supreme Court Decision Number 628 K/Pid/1984 dated July 22, 1985. Legal consequences of Prejudicial Geschil in criminal and civil cases where criminal cases are suspended until given verdict in the civil cases. Then the legal implications of Prejudicial Geschil in Police Investigations are that the investigation process is temporarily suspended/pending, as has been regulated in Article 81 of the Criminal Code and the Supreme Court Regulation Number 1 of 1956 concerning the Legal Relations between the Civil Court and the Criminal Court
