    This article contains an analysis of the English translation of Ahmad Nadeem Qasimi’s short stories. These translations are the result of the skill and diligence of Professor Sajjad Shaikh. He translated twenty Urdu short stories of Ahmad Nadeem Qasimi into English for the first time. This book was first published by National Book Foundation, Islamabad in 1981. Professor Sajjad Shaikh was awarded the Ahmad Nadeem Qasimi Literary Award for this endeavor. In these translations, Ahmad Nadeem Qasimi’s stories seem to travel from one language to another without any strangeness. Proficient in Urdu and English, Prof. Sajjad Shaikh has made a successful attempt to make Urdu Literature stand out on the world’s stage by translating the subject matter of these short stories

    "Iqbal's Philosophy of Humanitarianism and the contemporary world"Sir Allama Muhammad Iqbal was a bard, theorist, government official, and in addition a scholastic, lawyer and researcher in British India who is broadly viewed as having propelled the Pakistan Movement. He is known as the “Spiritual father of Pakistan”. He is viewed as one of the greatest significant figures in Urdu literature, with legendary effort in both the Urdu as well as Persian dialects.The humanitarian ideal is always universal in poetry and philosophy; but if you make it an effective ideal and work it out in actual life, you must start, not with poets and philosophers, but with a society exclusive, in the sense of having a creed and a well-defined outline, but ever enlarging its limits by example andpersuasion. (Iqbal’s letter to Nicholson, in Hassan, The Sword and the Sceptre, p. 364.) He was born and brought up in the 20th century when the sun of the British Empire never set, and India was very much part of that Empire. Western imperialism was imposed on the east where our education, economy,politics, and society were overwhelmed by new ideology and beliefs. The society was overburdened with materialism as a result spiritualism had become a myth. In this environment Iqbal foster his philosophy.He in the history of world literature is the greatest poet of humanism. He has mentioned humanity in his poetry with so much love, care and affection, example of which is never found in the history. He was a great interpreter of humanism. Iqbal believed that to bring revolution in outer world it is necessary to transform inner world. At the outset one must be awakened then only there will be change in the world.Allama Iqbal developed his own philosophy after amalgamating the west with the east. He discussed the fundamental principles of Islam in the light of modern thought and scientific knowledge and made a searching analysis of its basis. Undoubtedly, he accepted divergent views expounded by the western philosophers and thinkers, but the soul of his philosophy lies in the Islam. He made a serious attempt at seizing the problems of modern western philosophy within an Islamic context. The idea behind Iqbal’s intellectual speculations was that the avaricious ideology of the West, coming down from nineteenth century observations of science, had failed mankind. Therefore, the spiritual philosophy of the East would come to the rescue of a divided humanity. According to Iqbal, the Industrial Revolution of the 18th century contaminated the West with excessive materialism and intoxicated with power, it lost its bearings andwent berserk. Hence imperialism, both in the form of Capitalism and that of communism, corrupted America as well as Europe. The mantra of Democracy put forward by both is hollow and deceptive. The concept of aggressive nationalism ruined humanitarianism. Otherwise, human progress could go beyond the stars. Therefore, a redirection of thought and action was immediately required. The positive and productive process, Iqbal concluded, would get underway in the East, inspired by a total view of Islam, as a way of life for the entire mankind. He, in this endeavour, was inspired by western thinkers like Nietzsche and Muslim spiritual teachers like Mohammad Ibn al Arabi and Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi. Mohammad Ibn Arabi (1165-1240) was a great Aref (Gnostic) and expounder of Wahdat Alwojud.     The concepts of early Urdu fiction writers

    In the days when novel was appearing in Urdu due to European influences, literature was inspired by social and developmental concepts in Europe. In sub-continent, however, modern movements under the influence of British colonialism were dominated by socio-political aspects. Inevitably, its influence on the early Urdu fiction writers was profound. In this regard, the purpose of the Sir Syed's movement, its literary and social aspects and their influence was very prominent. It was acting as the first wave of modernity among Indian Muslims. Maulvi Nazir Ahmad, the first Urdu novelist considered an important part of “Arkaan e khumsa”. His ideas about the novel are reflected in the preface that was part of his early publications. Similarly, other early Urdu novelist like Abdul Haleem Sharer, Ratan Nath Sarshar, Mirza Hadi  Ruswa and Premchand have explained the concept and purpose of the novel in their articles. This article takes account of these concepts in light of their fictional works

    Aristotle's  famous  Poetics has been translated into many languages.And in Urdu language also many good and bad complete incomplete vague and unambiguous translations came to light.In these translations, Aziz Ahmed's translation of Poetics "فن شاعری" is very important. In 1941, Dr. Ibn Farid started a series of objections to Aziz Ahmed's translation of Poetics and limited it to the first part. Then, two years later, Jabir Ali Syed, on the request of Abu Saadat Jalili, wrote a reply to these objections of Dr. Ibn Farid.The explanation is that he has adopted a unique method in this regard, which includes the text translated by Aziz Ahmed as well as Butcher's translated text and then added Dr. Ibn Farid's objection to it and at the end of each line and the objection raised against it is presented with his  own pen. This is the first time that Jabir Ali Syed's work has been published in response to Ibn Farid's objections to Aziz Ahmed's translation of Poetics (art of poetry).The same analysis is presented below with the necessary footnotes and further explanations

In fact, she produced a great canvass of Islam and did her best to draw a good look of it in different socio-cultural perspectives.     Muhammad Iqbal as a Cosmopolitan Philosopher

    This article makes an exposition of the substantial cosmopolitan strands in Muhammad Iqbal’s writings. Cosmopolitanism is a philosophical approach that recognises human beings across nations to be members of a global tribe. This approach supports the idea of world citizenship, global state or global institutions. Individualism, egalitarianism and universalism are the key principles of cosmopolitanism. I argue that Iqbal is a cosmopolitan philosopher because his philosophical thinking is not only consistent with the core principles of cosmopolitanism but also contains essential cosmopolitan aspects, including intellectual, moral, and political. Iqbal postulates the idea of the human self that acquires the idea of a unique individuality which is compatible with egalitarianism and universalism in certain ways. Iqbal’s intellectual cosmopolitanism fosters the cognitive development of people for enhancing their creativity, which is based not only on the oriental and the occidental traditions but also on the intertemporal epochs with an interdisciplinary approach ranging primarily from philosophy, religion and literature to science. Intellectual cosmopolitanism produces creative human agency. Iqbal’s moral cosmopolitanism develops certain moral values to make human perfection and human fraternity. Iqbal’s political cosmopolitanism envisions a federation of states in which people practising spiritual democracy in the kingdom of ends on earth create and sustains global peace. These strands in Iqbal’s philosophical ideas create a creative human agency, human fraternity, reverence for humanity, and global peace, respectively. Thus, I argue that Iqbal meets all the conditions squarely to be a cosmopolitan philosopher.  Keywords: Cosmopolitanism, Nationalism, Ethics, Politics, Muslim Philosophy.  &nbsp
