    No full text

    Get PDF
The main purpose of this research is to assess the outdoor thermal comfort (OTC) of Belgrade, in order to investigate how distinct bioclimatic conditions influence on the human organism during the summer in urban environments. Universal Thermal Climate Index, which represents the heat stress of the human organism caused by meteorological conditions, was used as an indicator of thermal comfort in the study. The main goal was to monitor changes in the index values, as well as the frequency of various categories of thermal stress during the hottest part of the year (months June, July, and August). For this research, mean daily meteorological data from the Meteorological Observatory Belgrade have been collected for the period from 1999 to 2018. The obtained results show a gradual change in the bioclimatic conditions, which are generally more adverse in July and August. Results also indicate that OTC in Belgrade was considerably reduced, especially in 2007, 2012, 2015, 2017, and 2018.Urednik: Milovan Staniši

    No full text
Prvu (osnovnu) grupu čine sela sa razvojenim ruralnim turizmom - Balta Berilovac, Ćuštica i Crni Vrh, dok drugu (kontrolnu) grupu čine naselja bez značajnijeg razvoja ovog vida turizma - Ošljane, Novo Korito i Petruša.

Space-Time High-Resolution Data of The Potential Insolation and Solar Duration for Montenegro

    Get PDF
The assessment of the potential use of renewable energy resources requires reliable and precise data inputs for sustainable energy planning on a regional, national and local scale. In this study, we examine high spatial resolution grids of potential insolation and solar duration in order to determine the location of potential solar power plants in Montenegro. Grids with a 25-m spatial resolution of potential solar radiation and duration were produced based on observational records and publicly available high-resolution digital elevation model provided by the European Environment Agency. These results could be further used for the estimation and selection of a specific location for solar panels. With an average annual potential insolation of 1800 kWh/m² and solar duration of over 2000 h per year for most of its territory, Montenegro is one of the European countries with the highest potential for the development, production, and consumption of solar energy

Recent and future air temperature and precipitation changes in the mountainous north of montenegro

    Get PDF
The aim of the research of this paper is changes in air temperature and precipitation in the north of Montenegro in the instrumental period (1951-2018) and projections up to 2100. Kolasin was chosen because the altitude of the place is the average height of the northern region of Montenegro (about 1000 m), the meteorological station has not changed its location since the beginning of instrumental measurements, and homogeneity was tested (for the instrumental period). In general, the climate of Kolasin (1951-2018) has become warmer and with more frequent extreme daily temperatures and precipitations in an upward trend. When it comes to the projections for the north of this Mediterranean country, according to the A1B scenario of the Regional Climate Model EBU-POM, the results indicate warmer conditions and very warm ones at the end of the 21st century. The projected reduction of the annual number of almost all the considered rainfall days also implies that a slightly more arid future is expected. The climate of the mountainous north of Montenegro is changing, and the results presented in this paper may serve decision makers to take some measures of adaptation (in tourism, agriculture, architecture, water management, etc.) and climate change mitigation

Evolution of urban hotel geography - a case study of Belgrade

    No full text
This research analyses the changes of hotel geography in Belgrade, from the middle nineteenth century to the present. It confirms the influence that major political and economic factors have on hotel distribution, size, ownership, and rank. Prominent Ashworth and Tunbridge's Tourist-historic city model is used as the foundation of hotel spatial analysis in Belgrade, which is historically divided into three periods. The statehood development period is characterized by highly centralized hotel locations, mostly dependent on ethnical divisions, trade and early transport development. During the socialist period, in the absence of a market economy and private property, dispersion of hotels was caused almost exclusively by centralized political decisions. The transition period started with a complete political and economic overhaul of Serbia and Belgrade in the 1990s. After this difficult time, the Belgrade hotel industry started to recover, with the geographical factors that represented a re-establishment of market mechanisms and entrepreneur initiatives, as well as a focus on both the historic city and urban periphery

Valorisation of climate conditions in tourist centers of South Serbia

    Get PDF
Climate is one of the most important factors of tourism development. Tourism trends and activities are largely determined by climatic conditions, as well as potential tourist investments. South Serbia is characterized by climate diversity on a relatively small territory. This region is characterized by heterogeneity and richness in geomorphological, hydrological, and cultural tourism resources. However, more intensive tourism development is limited by a weak financial tourism base. The aims of the work are to evaluate climatic conditions in the main tourism centers of South Serbia and to determine the impact of climate change on the development of tourism in the region. Bioclimatic indicators, primarily the tourism climatic index, were used as a statistical and qualitative method for the evaluation of climatological data for the needs of tourism. The results of the research will point to the advantages, but also to the deficiencies of the climate as a tourism resource of South Serbia

    Get PDF
The aim of this study is to determine and highlight the tourism potentials of the Ibar cultural tourism zone monasteries, which is located in the southwest part of Serbia. In the assessment of tourism potential, a quantitative model consisting of two groups of indicators (resource values and state of development) conceived of seven sub-indicators that were ranked and evaluated by respondents in the field, was applied. The results of the study show that the total tourist potential of the Ibar cultural tourism zone is 0.756, which classifies it as an area with high potential. A substantial difference in grading can be noticed by comparing two groups of indicators. The value of the resource is 0.812, and the value of the development state is 0.700. The main value of the study is that for the first time, a model based on quantitative calculations is applied in order to determine the tourist potential of the Ibar cultural tourism zone monasteries. The study also highlights the advantages and disadvantages and contributes to better promotion and development of this area
