    Становништво и туризам из демографске перспективе

    Tема Становништво и туризам може се протумачити на различите начине, јер су везе ова два система многоструке. Могуће их је ишчитавати и са аспекта различитих наука, а овога пута је понуђена демографска перспектива, и то у широком распону. Намера таквог концепта је да се студенти туризмологије, који досад нису имали демографске предмете, упознају с демографским дискурсом, да им се демографска проблематика приближи, омогући им се да уоче важност демографских процеса за све просторне и функционалне системе, па и за туризам. Надам се да ће овај студија-уџбеник подстаћи код студената интердисциплинарни начин размишљања, и допринети остваривању едукативних и сазнајних резултата. Књига је конципирана на вишегодишњим предавањима на предмету Становништво и туризам. У време када је овај предмет формиран није постојао ни сличан курс тог типа. У недостатку претходних узора који би обезбедили континуитет наставе, предмет је грађен од самих темеља. Такође, није постојала ни литература која би омогућила структурирање новог наставног процеса. Креирање предмета било је велики изазов праћен одговорношћу да се студентима понуди тематика која би суштински одговарала дефинисаним исходима учења. Настава није осмишљена као примењена демографија, већ се трагало за стварањем новог надограђујућег знања, за новим контекстом и перспективама које повезују развитак становништва и туризам. Тако је предмет настао као резултат аутентичних промишљања и сумирања знања из области демографије и туризмологије (којима се предавач током своје професионалне каријере бавио), теренских истраживања, доступне литературе која се у наредним годинама објављивала и за коју је процењено да одговара контексту предмета, али и примерима из праксе који су уочени, откривени у медијима, и који су у овој књизи послужили за формирање boxova са занимљивим садржајима

    Програм заштите животне средине општине Власотинце са акционим планом представља стратешки документ којим се сагледава стање чиниоца животне средине, фактори ризика по животну средину, затим препознају трендови и потребе и дефинишу приоритети за наредни период у складу са националним и локалним стратешким и планским документима. Програм заштите животне средине је прилагођен локалним интересима и специфичностима, односно усаглашен са Планом развоја општине Власотинце 2022-2029, како би се обезбедила усклађеност политике заштите животне средине са другим секторским политикама. Програм заштите животне средине општине Власотинце је настао уз консензус свих заинтересованих актера и обухвата првенствено област заштите и унапређења животне средине али и аспекте економског и друштвеног развоја. Предуслов за квалитетно и правовремено спровођење Програма заштите животне средине јесте препознавање његовог значаја од стране локалне заједнице (јавни, приватни и невладин сектор) и виших нивоа власти, као и успостављање механизама за његову реализацију

    Thinking sustainably and “green” through the activities of almost all organizations and companies, but also through personal attitudes and actions, has become an imperative of socially responsible business for those who deal with tourism and hospitality. There is an entrenched view that tourism should be viewed more broadly, i.e. as a system that, in addition to tourists and the economy, also includes the environment and society as a whole. Taking care of sustainable tourism development has become everyone’s obligation ̶ both supply and demand. For the purposes of this research, the opinions of owners of Vojvodina salaš farms engaged in tourism and providing hospitality services were examined through a survey. The goal of the work is to determine, based on the presentation of various contents and activities on salaš farms (representation of ethnic complexes and accommodation facilities, organic food products, ecotourism activities, additional contents...) whether they respect the concept of sustainable development and whether they strive for it. Also, to answer the question whether traditional, but also “increasingly numerous” modern facilities on salaš farms contribute to the concept of sustainability? The analysis of the collected data was performed using the SPSS.26.00 statistical program, descriptive statistics were presented and One-way ANOVA was performed. The results of the research indicate a positive attitude of the respondents regarding the sustainable development of tourism, but also differences in their attitudes regarding the enrichment of the tourist offer on salaš farms with modern amenities

    Application of the Concept of Statistical Causality in Integrable Increasing Processes and Measures

    In this paper, we investigate an application of the statistical concept of causality, based on Granger’s definition of causality, on raw increasing processes as well as on optional and predictable measures. A raw increasing process is optional (predictable) if the bounded (left continuous) process X, associated with the measure ��(�) , is self-caused. Also, the measure ��(�) is optional (predictable) if an associated process X is self-caused with some additional assumptions. Some of the obtained results, in terms of self-causality, can be directly applied to defining conditions for an optional stopping time to become predictable

    Assessment of the Economic Consequences of Riverbank Erosion: The Case of the South Morava River, Serbia

    Landscape transformation, degradation and destruction are caused by fluvial processes as the predominant erosive processes in Serbia. The loss of arable land due to riverbank erosion is permanent, and the economic consequences are, therefore, especially pronounced. The primary aim of this study was to quantify the intensity of riverbank erosion in the lower part of the South Morava River (Serbia) during period 1924–2020, evaluate its economic consequences, and conduct a cost benefit analysis of revetment investments. The economic effects of riverbank erosion were analyzed by means of land loss and reduction in the quantity of agricultural production. An interdisciplinary research approach was applied using specific methodological procedures to calculate the riverbank erosion and soil (land) loss intensity (geographic information system-GIS), the economic consequences of riverbank erosion (ECRE), and the results of an investment decision-making model. The results showed that 202.6[Formula: see text]ha of arable land was lost during the observed period, the value of arable land loss was almost 622,000[Formula: see text]USD, and the loss in agricultural production was 7.5 million USD (discount rate 3.7%). The model is seen as the main research output and can be used for the assessment of long-term capital-intensive infrastructure projects in developing countries. The analysis identified the river segments that are economically viable for investments in riverbank revetments to preserve the largest area of fertile agricultural land. The results are especially valuable for river channel management, environmental planners and policy-makers, who deal with decisions regarding planning and the protection of bank erosion in areas of particular interest

    GIS Based Decision Support System for Brownfield Redevelopment: The Case Study Municipality of Prokuplje, Serbia

    Over the past 30 years, wastelands have increased in Serbia, particularly in the south and southeast. Prokuplje and surrounding municipalities lack protected areas and face significant depopulation and contamination issues. The Toplica region, with 88,900 inhabitants, is strategically located with key transportation routes, but former military sites in Prokuplje present challenges due to contaminated soils and proximity to urban areas, necessitating remediation and redevelopment. Three zones are ecologically suitable for conversion in Prokuplje, while one is moderately suitable. Two brownfields near the Niš-Prokuplje-Merdare-Priština road pose remediation challenges due to contamination with mercury(I) oxide, aluminum, and boric acid. Shallow contamination near densely populated areas makes remediation difficult. Legal regulation, homeowner assessment, and in-depth chemical analysis are essential for effective remediation. Essentially, Prokuplje has three areas suitable for conversion and one moderately suitable. However, the two brownfields near the Niš-Prokuplje-Merdare-Priština road face significant remediation challenges due to contamination with mercury oxide, aluminum, and boric acid. Addressing these issues requires legal regulations, homeowner assessments, and detailed chemical analysis to ensure safe redevelopment and boost investor confidence.     Application of GIS in identifying drought-prone areas – A case study of Vladičin Han municipality

    This paper examines the application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in the identification of drought-prone areas in the municipality of Vladičin Han. Considering the ongoing climate changes, the frequency of extreme weather events is increasing. Drought as one of these events can cause significant damage, as it leads to the depletion of many resources, especially water and food, thus threatening the existence of ecosystems. The aim of the study is to identify the most vulnerable areas of the Vladičin Han municipality by processing satellite imagery. The study applies the Drought Hazard Index (DHI) and the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). The drought hazard index is determined based on four criteria: Land surface temperature (LST), Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), Normalized Difference Moisture Index (NDMI) and Topographic Wetness Index (TWI). For each of these criteria, an appropriate weighting coefficient is calculated based on the AHP. By applying these methods, the spatial distribution of vulnerability from drought is obtained, which should indicate potential problems and serve as a precautionary measure in resource management and decision-making in the event of emergencies caused by this natural disaster.Editors: Čedo Maksimović, Zoran Stevanović, Slobodan Simonovi

    Туризам у функцији одрживог руралног развоја на простору Новог Пазара

    Велики значај за одрживи рурални развој недовољно развијених простора Србије имају природне и антропогене туристичке вредности. У овој студији спроведено је анкетно истраживање методом одабира испитаника, а анализом економских, социјалних и културних аспеката и аспеката животне средине сагледава се тренутно стање, са циљем да се јасно дефинишу све јаке и слабе тачке руралних насеља на простору административне територије Новог Пазара. Вредност индикатора добијена је као резултат просечних вредности сродних питања, а Индекс одрживог руралног развоја (IORR) представљен је просечном вредношћу свих индикатора. Коначни резултат IORR је 0,94, што показује да простор има перспективу развоја одрживог туризма. Резултати истраживања могу се искористити за планирање могућности даљег развоја руралних насеља у истраживаном простору, с циљем да се слабе стране и претње минимизирају, а јаке стране и прилике максимизирају, и то захваљујући туризму заснованом на одрживом развоју

    Balancing Act: Assessing the Impacts of Winter Tourism on Natural Heritage in Kopaonik National Park and Charting a Sustainable Path Forward

    This research explores development conflicts within Kopaonik National Park (NP) arising from the prioritization of winter tourism, particularly skiing activities and the associated infrastructure. This emphasis has led to the marginalization of the unique natural heritage that warranted the park’s establishment in 1981, presenting an unusual case of exploiting and jeopardizing significant Balkan natural heritage. Tourist facilities situated in protection zones II and III interface with natural reserves in protection zone I, escalating conflicts and spatial impacts and raising concerns about the preservation of reserves and the park’s original purpose. Kopaonik Mountain, inherently suited for winter tourism, faces the challenge of accommodating a ski center within its exceptional natural heritage. Legal and planning activities support winter tourism without adequately defining its compatibility with the park’s natural heritage. Through an in-depth analysis of legal documents, plans, projects, and studies, this paper highlights conflicts, especially with natural heritage, expressing concerns for the park’s future. The Spatial Plan of the Special Purpose Area of National Park Kopaonik, as a highly important strategic document, leans toward winter activities, prompting a critical review. The paper concludes with suggestions to alleviate winter tourism’s negative impacts and proposes sustainable practices within the realm of protected natural heritage and other human activities
