Semiclassical Stark Broadening Parameters of Ar VII Spectral Lines

    Get PDF
Using the semi-classical perturbation approach in the impact approximation, full width at half maximum and shift have been determined for eight spectral lines of Ar VII, for broadening by electron-, proton-, and He III-impacts. The results are provided for temperatures from 20,000 K to 500,000 K, and for an electron density of 10(18) cm(-3). The obtained results will be included in the STARK-B database, which is also in the virtual atomic and molecular data center (VAMDC)

Climate regionalization of Serbia according to koppen climate classification

    Get PDF
The paper presents a concise overview of the theoretical framework on which climate classifications are based. Beside short review of climate classifications, namely climatic regionalization for Serbia (or wider area including Serbia), main deficiency of these research was ascertained (which primarily relate to the period on the basis of which climate regionalization was carried out). The criteria of the Koppen climate classification are presented, on the basis of which the climate regionalization of Serbia has been carried out. The methodology of making maps of air temperatures and precipitation amounts has been described, on the basis of which a map of the climate regions of Serbia has been created. Spatial distribution of the types and subtypes of the climates in Serbia has been briefly described. It has been pointed to the constraints of the climate regionalization that arise from the theoretical bases of the climate classifications, but also from nature of the collected data and the applied methodology

Differences in regional development on the territory of the Republic of Serbia

    Get PDF
Unbalanced regional development is one of the basic characteristics of the regional development of the Republic of Serbia. The aim of the paper is to highlight the proportions of unbalanced regional development of Serbia by positioning regions in accordance with the values of the indicators included in the survey: population density, (un) employment (the number of employed people per 1,000 inhabitants), activity structure and the amount of average income per employee. The indicators presented in the paper emphasize the role of certain regions in the current regional reality of Serbia. Also, they exemplify regional disparities more comprehensively in terms of the achieved level of socio-economic development and the orientation of the analysed regions to particular sectors of the economy

Does specific demographic education change young people's opinions about reproduction? The case of Serbia

    No full text
Population education is one of the strategic measures to encourage giving birth in low-fertility Serbia. The expected result is that such education may have an effect on reproductive intentions and overall people behavior. This study explores the thoughts about reproduction of three different student groups from the University of Belgrade, whereas their specific knowledge about demography ranges from basic to very good. The intention was to clarify whether awareness and knowledge about demographic problems change attitudes on reproduction of future highly educated people. The study was performed via a survey that was conducted among: Demography students, who have studied demographic phenomena for at least 3years, students who have taken only one course in demography during their studies and students who have not acquainted themselves with demographics throughout their studies. It is based on the students' views of ideal, desired and expected family size, on an evaluation of factors that affect reproduction, on identifying other beliefs relevant for future reproduction, as well as on a discussion with Demography students. Demographic education did not show to be an essential factor of differentiating reproductive norms of students. Collective rationality and a reflection of the economic crisis on reproductive intentions are dominant student responses

    No full text

Demographic response to accessibility improvement in depopulation cross border regions: The case of Euroregion Danube 21 in Serbia

    No full text
This paper analyses the relationship between the accessibility improvement and demographic pattern in the border region of Euro region Danube 21 in Serbia. In many CBC projects accessibility has been identified as a key factor for their territorial success. But according to the European Spatial Planning Observation Network (ESPON) project and strategies, accessibility patterns are strongly associated with dynamic population pattern in border areas. The demographic challenges that some cross-border areas are facing are structural and permanent. Therefore the paper evaluated and assessed demography factors as the main factors in accessibility analyses in this depopulation cross-border area. The article includes key messages for policy-makers for transportation designing and implementing development transportation strategies specifically tailored to the needs of these regions

Vulnerability of environmental systems of the functional urban region - detection by digital tool

    No full text
Space, as a non-renewable category, is the most valuable resource of Istria including not only landscapes, sea, seabed and the accompanying wildlife but also very sensitive resources such as ground water, seashore and woodlands. The aim of the study was to determine whether it is possible to reduce the negative impact of development activities on space using Geography Information System digital tools (GIS). Digital GIS tools were used in the study of the pressures made by urban infrastructure and services on the environment of the given area to assess the impact of sectoral and other pressures on the selected natural and cultural systems of the coastal region of Istria County. The key concept of the research methodology includes analytical and objective identification of conflicts in the space and provides spatial models for their reduction or complete elimination. The Overlay Method is essentially a type of a spatial model which produces an overlap of different thematic contents, in this case one of the models of the environment content overlaps with a model of pressure of development activities on the selected space element. As a final result, the critical areas are designated and further guidelines and proposals for the redefinition or revision of solutions are offered. A combined digital model and an analytical approach to the study of the impact of development activities on the natural sea system proved to be suitable tools for the assessment of negative effects on the ecological systems of the study area. Ports and aquaculture areas exert the biggest negative impact on the coastal sea which is constantly under direct pressures brought about by activities occurring in the sea itself. In addition to the direct pressure in the sea, the coastline is potentially threatened by human-induced pressures from the mainland

Water Supply in the Republic of Serbia – State and Perspectives

    No full text
Water supply has pronounced priority, over other forms of water use. The term water supply includes the ensure of high quality water in general terms, for households, public needs and economic activities. The Republic of Serbia disposes with considerable underground and surface water resources, which are used for supplying, but it is required their rational utilization. The aim of this study is to show the current state of water supply on the territory of Serbia based on the analysis of the different indicators. One of the goal is to scan prevalent conditions and problems related to it and to propose optimal solutions. The survey includes an explanation of the long – term needs of the Republic of Serbia for fresh water (as well as share of different sources in the total water supply) and estimation of the possibility of satisfying that needs from available resources. On the base of that, there are adopted conclusions about basic directions of further development in the field of water management and water supply in Serbia

A Review of the Geographical Research of Isolation and Separation Features of the Balkan Peoples and States in the Time of Cvijić and Today

    No full text
The Balkan Peninsula is a geographical region where different civilizations meet and permeate, but also a region of isolation and separation of its peoples. Its territory was the place where the interests of the great economic and political powers often collided and merged, mostly for political and military reasons. The historical processes that marked the last decade of the 20th century on the Balkan Peninsula were not in accordance with the integration processes in Europe, which took place after the Second World War, and whose intensity heightened after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the reunification of the two parts of Germany. Most nations in the region were not economically and politically ready to accept social changes in Europe and therefore remained isolated and separated in most cases. The article focuses on the geographical research of the isolation and separation features of the Balkan peoples and the states in the time of Jovan Cvijić and nowadays, through the prism of contemporary political and economic processes
