    Get PDF
The objective of this investigation is to put in evidence the difficulties what it entails the so declaimed sustainable rural tourism development. For that aim, we have chosen two tourism clusters of rural areas corresponding to the Upper and Lower Danube, in a country in Eastern Europe of medium development like as Serbia. The comparison is one of the essential principles of geographical research and in this case are allowed establish differences and similarities between a nature destination with strong deficiencies of infrastructure. On the other side, it is evident an increasing presence of international tourism and destination with better services and predominance of historical and cultural attractions, more oriented to local tourism. The exhaustive bibliographical and field research are complemented by a deep geostatistical analysis of information which are collected from year to year by municipalities. The results obtained are brought knowledge with views to a strategic planning on the path of sustainability

The paper presents geoecological evaluation of the city of Loznica for the purposes of sports and recreational tourism based on quantitative method of diversity, V-Wert Method. Using the GIS tool by the quantitative method, the criteria of natural components (relief, forest, water surface and climate) are evaluated for the analyzed area. In the proposed method, the climate factor was supplemented by the analysis of the bioclimatic index Universal Thermal Climate Index (UTCI). When the evaluation was completed, the final results were obtained based on which the degrees of convenience of different parts of the analyzed area have been presented. Out of the total analyzed surface, which amounts to 705 km(2), favorable surfaces comprise 21 km(2) (2.98%), and very favorable surfaces comprise 33 km(2), i.e. 4.68% of the territory. The largest area consists of conditionally favorable terrains - 33 km(2) (47.23%). Since one of the basic strategic priorities of the City of Loznica is improvement and development of sports and recreational tourism, the aim of this analysis is to emphasize the potential of the mentioned area in terms of general suitability of the terrain for the development of this type of tourism

GIS -based landslide susceptibility modelling of the territory of the Republic of Macedonia

Landslides are natural disasters which have impact in many areas around the world including the territory of the Republic of Macedonia. In this country, about 300 large landslides are registered, most of which cause serious damage to the infrastructure almost every year. In that sense, the mapping of sites that are susceptible to landslides is essential for management of these areas. This is a crucial step to prevent landslides in places where this could be expected or to minimize its damages. Therefore, an approach of Geographic Information System (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS) assessment of potential landslides in the area of the Republic of Macedonia is presented in this paper. That is because of the high impact of landslides on the environment, socio-demographic situation, local economy and especially infrastructure. GIS tools and statistical methods for modeling and simulation allow the application of frequency ratio model for analyzing the number landslide events in any class of a predetermined set of factors. Selected factors that have the strongest influence on the landslide activity are lithology, slope angle, land cover (using CLC2012), slope curvature, distance from rivers and distance from roads. The results show significant area with high landslide susceptibility which is confirmed with data for the existing landslides. There are two advantages of the implemented model. First this model uses clear and logical criteria for analysis and the second is based on empirical data about real landslide events. Therefore, the landslide susceptibility map created with this model provides fairly objective assessment of the landslide susceptibility within the study area and the results of this research are of great importance because they will speed up the compilation of landslide inventory map

Geotourism is a relatively new form of tourism with considerable European and global growth potential. Interest in geotourism is developing at a very rapid rate around the world. It is of great importance to support and enhance the global movement about geotourism generally and specifically into geoparks. Geoparks are different to other forms of protected areas, such as national parks, nature reserves etc. In this paper focus of the research is on quantitative assessments of the exceptional values of geoheritage for the science, education and tourism potential use in the area of the potential Geopark Djerdap. Five selected geosites are relevant to evaluate key values for science, education, and tourism with additional consideration given to degradation risk. All the post-assessment findings aim to improve the focus on the ultimate goal of the study, i.e. to justify the synergy between the protection of natural values (geoconservation) and the corresponding activities in the process of managing the development of geotourism in the study area

Postponement of the first marriage is most often associated with postponement of births and decline of fertility, and in research, almost as a rule, the focus is put on female population. Postponement of marriage is characteristic for both sexes, and the aim of this paper is to perceive this phenomenon from the "male angle". The focus of the analysis is put on the male population of two age groups, 35 to 49 and 40 to 49 years that never married. The prevalence of the phenomenon of postponement of first marriage among the male population is explored, the rural-urban model is determined and compared with the characteristics of this phenomenon of the opposite sex. The 2011 Census data at the level of NUTS2 regions was analysed. The results show that there is a gender-different rural-urban model of marriage postponement. The shares of unmarried women are higher in urban than in rural areas, while this pattern is reversed in the male populationOdlaganje sklapanja prvog braka najčešće ce dovodi u vezu sa odlaganjem rađanja i padom fertiliteta te ce u istraživanjima, gotovo no pravilu, u fokus stavlja žensko stanovništvo.

In the research phase of the geological status of the area of southeastern Banat, samples were collected from surface waters, wells, and lakes. The content of U, Ra, Rn is determined in water. The sampling network was adjusted to the hydrographic characteristics of the terrain, and a hydrogeochemical map has been made at a scale of 1:50 000. In addition to hydrogeochemical prospecting, samples of the soil river sediments were taken to determine the profile of the coast of the following lakes: Vračarevo, Šaransko, Bagersko and Veliko lake. The regional hydrogeochemical prospecting included the area of the Bela Crkva, which drained the sediments of Negotin and Kvartara. In this area and wider, in accordance with the results of regional investigation, semi-geological and semi-geochemical research was carried out to identify resources of mineral deposits as well as the sources for water supply of rural settlements. During research, samples of water from surface streams, sources, wells, lakes, water reservoirs, creek sediments and wall samples were collected and examined.U fazi istraživanja geološkog statusa područja jugoistočnog Banata, prikupljeni su uzorci sa površinskih akvatorija, bunara i jezera.

The use of NDVI and corine land cover databases for forest management in Serbia

    Get PDF
This article evaluates the possible use of normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) and CORINE Land Cover (CLC) databases for better forest management in the municipalities of Kursumlija and Topola in Serbia. The forest areas obtained using CLC were up to 11.5% larger than the official forest area estimates, whereas NDVI gave more precise results. Hence, NDVI can efficiently provide local forest managers with essential annual information about the forest inventory. This is of a crucial importance for preventing illegal logging, which is very prevalent in southern Serbian municipalities, which have substantial forested territory. NDVI thus very promising for Serbia and also for countries that rarely carry out national forest inventories. This method can also easily be applied to other Balkan countries with a similar situation regarding local forest management

The main task of this paper is the assessment of bioclimatic conditions in Serbia. A special emphasis have been given to the heat budget bioclimatic Universal Thermal Climate Index (UTCI) whose purpose is to evaluate degree of thermal stress that human body is exposed to. In addition, the summer daily maximum temperatures are analysed in order to detect increase and frequency of heat waves during twenty years. For this research, daily and hourly (07h and 14h) meteorological data from 3 weather stations (Mt. Zlatibor, Novi Sad, Nis) are collected for the period 1998-2017

Otpad kao ekološki problem ruralnih područja Srbije

    Get PDF
Rešavanje problema slabije pokrivenosti organizovanim sakupljanjem otpada u ruralnim oblastima doprineće tom cilju i upravo iz tog razloga upravljanje otpadom zauzima značajno mesto u aktuelnoj praksi.

    Get PDF
Cultural heritage reflects the history of the culture of one nation’s life, as well as the socio-historical circumstances in which this heritage is created. Its function lies in the development of cultural tourism, where both culture and tourism have appropriate effects. The development of tourism generates income that focuses on the preservation, protection and promotion of cultural heritage, but also raises awareness of the importance of culture in the local community. The Smederevo fortress was the cultural, spiritual and literary center of Serbia during the rule of Despot Đurađ Branković, and nowadays it is an immovable cultural property of great importance and a witness to the rich history of Serbia. In order to recognize the potentials of the Smederevo fortress, tourist valorization was carried out according to the Hilary du Cros model. The essence of this model is reflected in the recognition of the possibility of including cultural heritage in the sustainable development of tourism
