Stambena diferencijacija, segregacija i značaj urbanog кonteкsta
GIS-Based Methods for Identifying River Networks Types and Changing River Basins
The analysis of climatic drivers is of utmost importance for defining new hydrological parameters. The territory of Serbia covers the area of 88,361 km2 and all its rivers belong to three big basins, the Aegean, the Black sea and the Adriatic. Extreme weather conditions have been determining the properties of drainage basins within the last sixty year (1953–2023). This research, conducted for the first time in the territory of Serbia, has shown comparative data on the changes of drainage basins and the changes in the type of river networks for the period of last sixty years. The research also includes the changes of the topography, the terrain and the surface of the basins. The main methodology is based on GIS methods, geostatistical method and remote sensing. Adjusted Strahler’s order was also used for the purpose of this research. The obtained results on the topology of river networks were classified into six different types, them being parallel, dendritic, mixed, radial, fan-shaped and rectangular. There has been an increase by 8% in parallel, mixed and dendritic type. The most significant changes in the last sixty years were observed within the Aegean and Adriatic sea basin. The surface of the Black sea basin increased by 1.2%, with the addition of a higher number of tributaries, whereas the basins of Adriatic and the Aegean sea had a decrease by 0.3% and 0.9% respectively. The number of tributaries decreased by 5.5% within the Adriatic sea basin, and by 8.8% within the Aegean sea basin
Symbology of Aeronautical Content of VFR Aeronautical Charts 1:500000 of Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina
Visual Flight Rules (VFR) are a set of rules for flight in meteorological conditions that allow visual flight. VFR aeronautical charts are used to aid in the navigation of aircraft flying under these rules. The first VFR aeronautical charts were topographical charts on which symbols of aeronautical content were printed, typically in monochrome. As these charts evolved, so did their symbology. Today, aeronautical content is presented using multiple colors and is categorized into distinct groups. This categorization is crucial for ensuring essential information is easily discernible and prevents the content from becoming cluttered, which could impair the map’s readability. The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has established standards and recommended practices that countries must adhere to in developing and producing aeronautical charts. In line with these guidelines, VFR aeronautical charts are created, with symbology based on ICAO standards and recommendations. The aeronautical content symbols on these charts are grouped into four categories: obstacles, airports and heliports, radio navigation aids, and air traffic services

Residential segregation in a radically changing urban context: experiences from Belgrade
This article examines the historical perspective of residential segregation in Belgrade and addresses the contextual factors responsible for the dynamics of this segregation. The article considers the decline in social status from the centre to the periphery as the main feature of citywide segregation in Belgrade, along with perpetuated peripheral informality. It also examines the impact of large-scale socialist estates, which were intended to contribute to an egalitarian society and counteract residential segregation. To examine the long-term patterns of residential segregation in Belgrade, we use a combination of sources and research approaches, due to the incomparability and lack of statistical data. Recent changes in segregation patterns during the first two decades of the post-socialist period were additionally analysed at the census-unit level, using data on the education of the population as a proxy for their social status.Accepted Manuscript: [https://gery.gef.bg.ac.rs/handle/123456789/2206
A Hot-Spot Analysis of Forest Roads Based on Soil Erosion and Sediment Production
Forest roads have been recognized as one of the significant contributors to soil erosion processes in forested areas. The construction and maintenance of forest roads can cause severe environmental impacts, including soil erosion, sedimentation, and degradation of aquatic ecosystems. The main objective of the present study is to analyze the impact of forest road networks on soil erosion and sedimentation in the context of the Zagros forestlands, Iran. This study aims to assess the soil erosion and sedimentation on forest roads in four case studies in the Zagros forestlands. This study collected data using field surveys and SEDMODL equations to determine input factors and sedimentation and erosion rates. This study found that roadside erosion is strongly correlated with geological factors, road width, and precipitation factors. The height changes of 144 benchmarks were recorded during one study year (2021–2022) on four study roads, and the measured results of erosion benchmarks indicated an average soil erosion of 3, 2.6, 4.7, and 3.5 mm per year around the Bideleh, Kohian, Nazi, and Tabarak roads, respectively. This study measured soil erosion and sedimentation at three distances (5, 15, and 25 m) from the road, and found a significant difference in the height changes of the benchmarks at varying distances from the study roads. A hot-spot analysis was conducted using GIS 10.8, and the results indicated that a significant portion of the studied forest roads had very high erosion production and hot spots. The results of the hot-spot analysis indicated that 30.8%, 22.6%, 39.8%, and 14.5% of the study forest roads, Nazi, Tabarak, Bideleh, and Kohian roads, respectively, are identified as areas with very high erosion production and hot spots. These results highlight the need for effective management strategies to minimize the impact of erosion on road infrastructure and the surrounding environment. Overall, this study provides important insights into the soil erosion and sedimentation on forest roads, and the findings presented here can be used to inform future road construction and maintenance
Multi-hazard modeling of erosion and landslide susceptibility at the national scale in the example of North Macedonia
Due to favorable natural conditions and human impact, the territory of North Macedonia is very susceptible to natural hazards. Steep hillslopes combined with soft rocks (schists on the mountains; sands and sandstones in depressions), erodible soils, semiarid continental climate, and sparse vegetation cover give a high potential for soil erosion and landslides. For this reason, this study presents a multi-hazard approach to geohazard modeling on the national extent in the example of North Macedonia. Utilizing Geographic Information Systems, relevant data about the entire research area were employed to analyze and assess soil erosion and susceptibility to landslides and identify areas prone to both hazards. Using the Gavrilović Erosion Potential Method (EPM), an average value of 0.36 was obtained for the erosion coefficient Z, indicating low to moderate susceptibility to erosion. However, a significant area of the country (9.6%) is susceptible to high and excess erosion rates. For the landslide susceptibility assessment (LSA), the Analytical hierarchy process approach is combined with the statistical method (frequency ratio), showing that 29.3% of the territory belongs to the zone of high and very high landslide susceptibility. Then, the accuracy assessment is performed for both procedures (EPM and LSA), showing acceptable reliability. By overlapping both models, a multi-hazard map is prepared, indicating that 22.3% of North Macedonia territory is highly susceptible to erosion and landslides. The primary objective of multi-hazard modeling is to identify and delineate hazardous areas, thereby aiding in activities to reduce the hazards and mitigate future damage. This becomes particularly significant when considering the impact of climate change, which is associated with increased landslide and erosion susceptibility. The approach based on a national level presented in this work can provide valuable information for regional planning and decision-making processes
LiDAR and maps blend for rural decision support
This study integrates aerial LiDAR data and 2D carto-graphic information to rapidly develop an advanced non-photorealistic rendering (NPR) model for rural environmentanalysis. The focus is enhancing decision support in crisesand assessing potential hazards in these territories. Themethodology involves capturing LiDAR data from highaltitudes and classifying it as Ground, Vegetation, andBuildings. The integration of this data with 2D cartographicinformation, augmented with attribute data from a GIS da-tabase, is achieved through a semi-automatic process. Thisprocess facilitates the creation of detailed 3D models, pro-viding a more nuanced, visually and semantically rich rep-resentation of the rural landscape. The study underscoresthe benefits of combining LiDAR, photogrammetric, andcartographic data for creating accurate and detailed mod-els of the rural environment, which are crucial for effectivedecision-making and threat assessment
