    No full text
As the world population increases, energy consumption extensively increases in every field. Energy is a need in several applications, and depending on its importance, its production should be renewable and clean. In order to meet energy requirements sustainably nowadays various alternative energy resources and improvements are recommended in each sector. One of the environmental steps taken in the aviation industry is the improvement of the propulsion systems and the resources used. For this purpose, the use of electrical energy, a more sustainable option than the energy obtained from fossil fuels, is suggested. In order for electrical energy to be used efficiently, it must be stored. This article reviews energy storage technologies used in aviation, specifically for micro/mini Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). Combinational energy storage technologies in hybrid propulsion system architectures and their individual usage in all-electric propulsion system architectures are examined. New-generation propulsion technologies are also evaluated and classified in detail

A study of rainy ibis detection based on Yolov7-tiny

    No full text
The YOLOv7-tiny algorithm does not achieve high detection accuracy for crested ibis in rainy environments. Therefore, we developed a rainy day crested ibis target detection algorithm based on YOLOv7-tiny. Firstly, the RainMix method is used to simulate the rainy day shooting data to synthesise a set of ibis dataset which is closer to the real environment. Then, the k-means algorithm is applied to re-cluster the predicted anchor frames to improve the approximation between the predicted and real frames in the output. Finally, an efficient hybrid attention mechanism (E-SEWSA) is developed and integrated into a lightweight efficient layer aggregation network, while a dense residual network reconstruction module is utilised to improve the detection accuracy of the model. In the PAN+FPN structure, the context information fusion capability of the feature aggregation part of the network is enhanced by integrating the CARAFE module instead of the up-sampling module, so as to improve the model detection accuracy. After experimental verification, the algorithm proposed in this paper has better results in rainy day ibis detection

Fourier series method for the stability solution of simply supported thin beams on two-parameter elastic foundations of the Pasternak, Filonenko-Borodich, Hetenyi or Vlasov models

    No full text
The analysis of stability problems of beams on two-parameter foundations (Bo2PFs) is an important part of their design for compressive loads. This work presents novel first principles derivation of the governing differential equations of elastic stability (GDES) of thin beams resting on two-parameter elastic foundations of the Pasternak, Filonenko-Borodich, Hetenyi or Vlasov models. The requirements of translational and rotational equilibrium of all the applied, reactive and internal forces on an infinitesimal segment of the Bo2PF and the laws of infinitesimal calculus were used to formulate the GDES as a fourth order ordinary differential equation (ODE) in terms of the transverse displacement function ux. The GDES is non-homogeneous in the presence of applied transverse load qx but homogeneous when qx vanishes. This study presents the Fourier series method (FSM) for solving the governing differential equation of stability (GDES) for the case of Dirichlet boundary conditions. The FSM has the advantage of amenability to differentiation, and integration due to the orthogonality properties of the sinusoidal functions. Implementation of the FSM by assuming the unknown function in the GDES as a Fourier series of infinite terms and the exploitation of orthogonalization simplifies the problem to an algebraic eigenvalue problem which is the characteristic buckling equation. The exact eigenvalues are found by algebraic solution of the buckling equation. The exact eigenvalues were used to find the exact buckling loads and the exact buckling load coefficients. The critical buckling load was found to correspond to the first buckling mode (n= 1), and is identical with previous solutions in the literature. Numerical calculations for the critical buckling load parameters Kcr were presented for the Bo2PF problem for values of the dimensionless foundation parameters k-1= 0, k-2= 0; k-1= 100, k-2= 0; k-1= 0, k-2= 1; k-1= 100, k-2= 100; k-1= 0, k-2= 2.5; k-1= 100, k-2= 2.5. The present solutions were compared with previous solutions for Kcr in the literature. The comparison shows that the present FSM results are identical with previous results obtained using various other methods such as Recursive Differentiation Method, Finite Element Method, Generalized Integral Transform Method (GITM) and Stodola-Vianello Iteration Method. The study has illustrated the effectiveness of the FSM for solving Bo2PFs

    No full text
According to the characteristics of the soft soil subgrade in the Haiou Island section of Nansha Bridge, a comprehensive geological survey and soil analysis were conducted. Based on the analysis results, a corresponding design scheme for the soft soil subgrade was formulated to ensure bridge safety and stability. Furthermore, various reinforcement measures such as compaction, drainage, and lightweight soil were implemented to mitigate the impact of soft soil filling on the bridge structure. To evaluate the effectiveness of our treatment method, post-construction effect testing was performed using both static pressure and vibration acceleration methods. The static pressure method provided crucial parameters related to bearing capacity and compressibility of the soft soil subgrade while vibration acceleration analysis reflected response characteristics under dynamic load conditions. By comparing and analyzing results obtained from these two methods comprehensively evaluated feasibility of our treatment approach. Finally, based on experimental study findings and data analysis outcomes, it is recommended that post-construction effect testing for Haiou Island section's soft soil subgrade should employ both static pressure method and vibration acceleration method along with targeted reinforcement measures selected specifically to minimize adverse impacts on bridge structure

Demagnetization optimization of hybrid excitation eddy current damper under intensive impact load

    No full text
The hybrid excitation eddy current damper is a novel principle damper characterized by high reliability, simple structure, and controllable magnetic field. Under intensive impact loads, hybrid excitation electromagnetic damping can induce demagnetization effects, resulting in significant fluctuations of the electromagnetic damping force at 6-8 ms. To mitigate this phenomenon, this study established a finite element model of the hybrid excitation damper using COMSOL and developed a control module based on a BP neural network in Simulink. Through co-simulation of COMSOL and Simulink, the difference between the maximum and minimum electromagnetic damping force at 6-8ms is reduced from 45 kN to 5 kN. This research provides valuable technical references for the optimization and practical application of eddy current dampers

Preparation and properties of polyamide elastomers by a new synthesis route of Michael addition reaction

    No full text
At present, the mainstream industrial synthesis method of polyamide is still bulk fusion polymerization, which is not in line with the concept of green synthesis because of the high threshold of reaction conditions and large energy consumption. Based on this, a new synthesis route of polyamide elastomer was studied in this paper. By synthesizing the end-functionalized long carbon chain diacrylamide (DDA) containing amide bonds, the synthesis mechanism was made by the thiol double bond Michael addition reaction. A series of polyamide elastomers with different ratios of hard and soft segments were synthesized by using dimercaptan chain extenders with different molecular weights. The results showed that the new synthesis route successfully prepared DDA and polyamide elastomers. The mechanical properties of the products were excellent, and the strain rate could reach 383 %. Tensile strength up to 23.08 MPa. The synthesis route has the characteristics of simple reaction process, mild reaction conditions and high reaction conversion rate. It provides theoretical guidance for the new synthesis route of polyamide elastomer

Research on quantitative design methods for the durability of reinforced concrete structures in a hot ocean environment

    No full text
This paper establishes a quantitative design method for the durability of concrete structures in cross-sea bridges through investigation, rapid chloride migration coefficient method (RCM) and theoretical calculation, considering the impact of temperature on chloride ion diffusion rates in a hot marine salt erosion environment. Combined with the RCM test and bridge service data, a quantitative design method for bridge concrete durability is proposed. Test results show that the growth rate of the chloride ion diffusion coefficient of concrete is approximately 1.028 for every 1 °C increase. For every 5 °C increase, the growth rate of the chloride diffusion coefficient of concrete is about 1.15, and the cover depth of the concrete structure should be multiplied by a coefficient of 1.07. Therefore, the concrete cover depth should be appropriately increased, considering the influence of ambient temperature. Furthermore, fly ash, slag, and stone powder can increase the concrete’s resistance to chloride corrosion. When the influence of temperature on the chloride ion diffusion coefficient is considered, the durability design of the concrete structure of the sea-crossing bridge is conducted, which is beneficial for ensuring their service life

The work presents a solution to the bending problem of an infinite piecewise homogeneous isotropic plate with an elastic circular washer and a radial through straight crack. It was assumed that under the action of an external loads at infinity, the edges of the crack are smoothly contacted on area of constant width (strip contact) on the upper base of the plate. The solution of the problem is built using the methods of the theory of functions of a complex variable and complex potentials and is reduced to a system of singular integral equations, which is numerically solved using the method of mechanical quadrature A numerical analysis of the problem is conducted and graphic dependencies of contact force, coefficients of intensity of moments and forces at various parameters of the problem were constructed

Noise control is one of the most critical technical indicators to improve the performance of intelligent audio recognition system. Based on the noise cancellation technology, a distributed low noise amplification circuit design was proposed, and the PE15-0P technology was applied to realize broadband low noise amplification. The amplifier circuit used diodes and resistors for voltage division, which effectively achieved bias saturation at the transistor and then diode structure. According to the design of low noise amplifier, the noise output characteristics were simulated and analyzed. An audio enhancement method based on noise type recognition was proposed, which can optimize noise estimation by selecting parameter combinations according to noise type, so as to improve the quality and intelligibility of noise frequency signals in various noise environments. From the aspects of hardware and algorithm design, the noise signal was comprehensively reduced, and the accuracy of audio recognition was significantly improved
