Problems of rutting on asphalt pavements
In the article, under field conditions (on the lane of a city road for public transport), using modeling and traffic flow analysis methods, the formation of ruts on an asphalt concrete pavement is studied. The maximum total rut depth on the road section under consideration reaches 110 mm. 715 buses and 25 trucks pass along a separate lane of the road per day, the relative rutting impact of which is from 5.68 to 16.41 compared to the design vehicle. The design of the road pavement on the experimental section with a total thickness of 48 cm is too weak for the actual traffic flow, which was the main reason for the premature failure of the road due to unacceptable rut sizes on the asphalt concrete pavement
Interconnections between local Schumann resonances and episodes of kidney disease
The aim of the study was to evaluate the interconnections between local Schumann resonances of the Earth’s magnetic field and episodes of kidney disease. Materials and Methods: Study participants included 716 males and 624 females who had episodes of kidney disease during the period of 1 January 2021 to 31 December 2021 and attended the Department of Nephrology at the Hospital of Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, Kauno klinikos. Time varying magnetic field data was collected at the magnetometer site located in Lithuania. Results and Conclusions: The study results support the hypothesis that the Earth’s magnetic field has a relationship between the number of nephrology patient hospitalizations per week and the average weekly local Schumann resonances strength in different frequency ranges. Working hypotheses are proposed for the mechanisms of the influence of the Earth’s electromagnetic field on kidney function: а) quantum mechanical features of the atomic composition of renal tissue molecules determine a kidney-specific reaction; b) cyclotron resonance mechanism; c) resonant response of cells of morphological structures of kidney tissue to external bioactive frequencies in the range of 6-8 Hz; d) mechanism of indirect influence of blood as a magnetically saturated medium

Experimental study on the influence of different curing methods on the performance of concrete
Curing concrete is an effective method to ensure concrete’s mechanical and durability performance. This article experimentally investigates the impact of various curing methods (air curing, sprinkler curing, geotextile curing, and composite geotextile curing) on the compressive strength of concrete at 7, 14, and 28 days, as well as the carbonation depth and chloride ion diffusion coefficient at 28, 56, and 90 days. The effects of different curing methods on concrete performance are compared. The experimental results demonstrate that sprinkler, geotextile, and composite geotextile curing at 7 and 14 days effectively enhance concrete’s mechanical and durability performance. Compared to air curing concrete at 28 days, sprinkler, geotextile, and composite geotextile curing reduced by 17.75 %, 25.11 %, and 31.51 %, respectively, but the average absolute deviation is reducing. From 28 to 90 days, air curing concrete’s chloride ion diffusion coefficient decreases by 8.5 %. For concrete specimens under sprinkler curing, geotextile curing, and composite geotextile curing, the chloride ion diffusion coefficient decreases by 20.4 %, 8.3 %, and 6.0 %, respectively. Beyond 28 days, the durability performance of concrete under composite geotextile curing, including carbonation depth and chloride ion diffusion coefficient, tends to stabilize. The optimal curing period of 28 days is determined based on comprehensive mechanical and durability performance. Composite geotextile curing retains moisture on the concrete surface, slows evaporation, reduces watering frequency and labour costs, and promotes long-term concrete performance development. Carbonation tests and durability performance, such as chloride ion diffusion coefficient, are more sensitive to concrete curing effects. Single indicators like mechanical or durability performance cannot comprehensively evaluate concrete’s long-term performance. Concrete quality should be comprehensively evaluated by considering strength, carbonation depth, chloride ion diffusion coefficient, and other indicators
Identification and characteristic statistics of surface microstructure of titanium metal based on cavitation water jet
The application of cavitation water jet technology to modify medical implant surfaces facilitates the formation of distinctive microporous structures, thereby enhancing the contact area between the implant and alveolar bone, and improving osseointegration. Therefore, the microstructure characteristics of the modified implant are one of the important evaluation indicators of the modification effect. This paper proposes a processing method for the identification and statistical analysis of surface micro-morphology images. The method incorporates techniques such as image enhancement, image segmentation, morphological image processing methods, and pixel matrix operations, enabling automated quantification of pit counts, the relative positions of the pits, and other topographic characteristics of the material surface. Simultaneously, the microstructure of each pit is spatially fitted and reconstructed to standardize measurement benchmarks for pit diameter and depth characteristics. This facilitates in-depth multi-dimensional analysis of material surface characteristic information and provides foundational support for further exploration of cavitation jet modification technology. In the study, the modification effect of processing time on the surface morphology of titanium metal was used as an application case. A surface morphology feature information database was established under different processing times, and statistical analysis was conducted on proportion, structural distribution, and other characteristics in the focus areas. The results show that the diameter and proportion distribution of the pits produced by cavitation jet modification tend to be stable when the jet pressure and standoff distance remain constant, while the depth of the pit increases with the increasing processing time
Modal characteristics analysis of agricultural vehicle support frame
The support frame of large agricultural vehicles was simulated using the finite element method to ensure stability and reliability. Modal experiments were conducted to verify the simulation accuracy, and mesh division and optimization were performed based on different size and structure types. Three types of loads were applied according to different working conditions. The natural frequency, vibration mode, stress, and deformation characteristics of the model under prestressed mode condition were calculated to determine the weak structure of the support frame. Modal measurement points for calibration during test modal analysis were used to generate a test modal model with force hammer, acceleration sensor, signal acquisition instrument, and other devices. The results showed that there was good agreement between finite element modal analysis and experimental modal analysis with a maximum error in natural frequency of 2.2 %, verifying the accuracy of the finite element model
Effect of welding axial stresses on the strength of a welded pipe joint with a defect
The use of an integrated approach to determining the static strength of operated main pipelines with surface defects makes it possible to take into account the effect of residual weld stresses in combination with operational loads. In this case, it is important to determine the nature of the welding stress distribution for welded structures made of high-strength steels. Here, there is non-uniformity of stresses concerning magnitude and gradient, which is due to technological methods. A mathematical model of the experimental-calculation method is proposed. Such a model allows describing such stresses. A two-parameter criterion for brittle-tough fracture of a material which takes into account the influence of residual stresses is used. It is shown that the combination of residual stresses and operating loads has a significant effect on the safety factor. At the same time, conditions are possible under which compressive residual stresses have a favourable effect on the static strength of a pipeline with a defect

In this work, the connected metric dimension types of ladder graphs, namely, ladder, circular, open, and triangular ladder graphs, as well as open diagonal and slanting ladder graphs, are studied
A bulk queue’s analysis with two-stage heterogeneous services, multiple vacations, closedown with server breakdown, and two types of renovation
A queueing system with two stages of heterogeneous services, multiple vacations, and closedown upon server failure is considered in this study for MX/Ga,b data. Two different services must be provided to a group of customers one at a time. At time C, the server finishes its shut-down procedures following the conclusion of each SPS. A server that has a queue length shorter than a takes numerous, different-duration vacations. Upon returning from vacation, if the server detects that there are less than a customers in the queue, they will continue to serve the following batch if the server determines that there are at least a customers waiting for service. During the server’s first phase of operation, the service channels will momentarily fail with a probability of (π1) at any time, and during the server’s second phase of operation, the service channels will fail with a probability of (π2) at any time
Solving Saint Venant torsion problems for rectangular beams using single finite Fourier sine transform method
This research presents the single Fourier sine transform method (SFSTM) for solving the Saint Venant torsion problem of rectangular prismatic bars. The problem is a common theme in the theory of elasticity of unrestrained torsion which was previously expressed by Prandtl using Prandtl stress functions ϕ(x,y) as a Poisson type nonhomogeneous partial differential equation (PDE) called the stress compatibility equation. In this work the SFSTM was applied to the stress compatibility equation, converting the PDE to an easier to solve ordinary differential equation (ODE) in the transformed domain. The boundary conditions were used to find the integration constant and inversion was used to find the solution in the physical domain. The non vanishing stresses and torsional moments were thus found as a single series of infinite terms with rapid convergence. The maximum stresses and moments were found in standard form in terms of torsional parameters which were tabulated for various ratios of the cross-sectional dimensions. A comparison of the torsional parameters with previous results show that the present results are identical with previous results illustrating the accuracy of the SFSTM used. The sine kernel of the SFSTM satisfies the boundary conditions of the problem and contributed to the exact solution obtained. The SFSTM simplified the PDE to an ODE which is simpler to solve
