    Get PDF
Slider-crank mechanisms are widely used in various industrial and technological machines. This paper considers a generalized diagram of a slider-crank mechanism, on the connecting rod of which an imbalanced mass can be fixed. In such a case, the slider-crank mechanism can be employed as an inertial vibration exciter. The aim of this research is to justify the geometric parameters of the mechanism to ensure a predetermined elliptical trajectory of the imbalanced mass motion. The research methodology involves the analytical derivation of the motion equations for a connecting rod point and solving the problem of synthesizing the geometric parameters of the mechanism based on the given trajectory of this point. The obtained results are presented in the form of displacements and trajectories for the connecting rod point of a specific slider-crank mechanism. The major novelty of this research lies in the further development of the theory of slider-crank mechanism synthesis for use in inertial vibration exciters. The derived analytical dependencies can be utilized by designers and engineers in the development of new types of vibration exciters for various industrial and technological vibratory equipment

Experimental study on the influence of different curing methods on the performance of concrete

    Get PDF
Curing concrete is an effective method to ensure concrete’s mechanical and durability performance. This article experimentally investigates the impact of various curing methods (air curing, sprinkler curing, geotextile curing, and composite geotextile curing) on the compressive strength of concrete at 7, 14, and 28 days, as well as the carbonation depth and chloride ion diffusion coefficient at 28, 56, and 90 days. The effects of different curing methods on concrete performance are compared. The experimental results demonstrate that sprinkler, geotextile, and composite geotextile curing at 7 and 14 days effectively enhance concrete’s mechanical and durability performance. Compared to air curing concrete at 28 days, sprinkler, geotextile, and composite geotextile curing reduced by 17.75 %, 25.11 %, and 31.51 %, respectively, but the average absolute deviation is reducing. From 28 to 90 days, air curing concrete’s chloride ion diffusion coefficient decreases by 8.5 %. For concrete specimens under sprinkler curing, geotextile curing, and composite geotextile curing, the chloride ion diffusion coefficient decreases by 20.4 %, 8.3 %, and 6.0 %, respectively. Beyond 28 days, the durability performance of concrete under composite geotextile curing, including carbonation depth and chloride ion diffusion coefficient, tends to stabilize. The optimal curing period of 28 days is determined based on comprehensive mechanical and durability performance. Composite geotextile curing retains moisture on the concrete surface, slows evaporation, reduces watering frequency and labour costs, and promotes long-term concrete performance development. Carbonation tests and durability performance, such as chloride ion diffusion coefficient, are more sensitive to concrete curing effects. Single indicators like mechanical or durability performance cannot comprehensively evaluate concrete’s long-term performance. Concrete quality should be comprehensively evaluated by considering strength, carbonation depth, chloride ion diffusion coefficient, and other indicators

Introduction of the distribution of Cs in Cu(In,Ga)Se2 photovoltaic absorbers following post-deposition treatment with CsF

    Get PDF
In recent years, the device performance of Cu(In,Ga)Se2 (CIGS) solar cells has been improved by heavy alkali element post-deposition treatment (Alkali-PDT). Therefore, it is of great significance to study the mechanism of enhancing CIGS device performance through Alkali-PDT. One aspect to be studied is the distribution of heavy alkali elements in the absorber. In this work, the distribution of the heavy alkali element Cs in the absorber after post deposition treatment of CsF (CsF-PDT) and its effect on the device performance are investigated. The experimental results indicate that Cs can enter both the grain interior (GI) and grain boundaries (GB) via the Cu vacancy (VCu). By comparing the distribution of Na and Cs in the film, it can be noticed that Na is mainly distributed at the GB, while Cs is not differently distributed between the GB and GI. This is mainly due to the fact that the presence of Na at GB inhibits the accumulation of Cs there. The distribution of Cs is beneficial in improving the device’s performance by passivating defects, such as InCu

In order to improve the anti-vibration properties and bearing capacity of solidified sludge, this article takes silt soil as the research object and selects sludge solidification materials with good solidification performance. The chemical element composition of muddy soil was analyzed using an energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer (EDS). The microstructure and characteristics of muddy soil and solidifying agent were characterized by transmission electron microscopy experiments (TEM). The optimal moisture content and maximum dry density of solidified sludge were analyzed using compaction tests. The unconfined compressive strength test was used to evaluate the bearing capacity and strength variation of solidified sludge. The vibration characteristics of sludge under different testing times and frequencies was studied. The research results indicate that the solidifying agent could reduce the moisture content of muddy soil significantly, improve the anti-vibration properties and bearing capacity of muddy soil effectively, which provide relevant basis for improving the performance and anti-vibration performance of solidified sludge used for roadbed filling. This study could provide innovative reference for the vibration and performance of solidified sludge used in roadbed filling

Investigation of the propagation characteristics of train-induced vibration at Guangzhou Baiyun railway station

    Get PDF
In densely populated cities, the increasing popularity of railways and urban rail transit interchange hubs has led to the extensive use of land resources and raised concerns about the environment, especially the inevitable noise and vibration impact. This study aims to identify the propagation patterns of roof structure vibrations in railway complexes through experimental research, with the premise of maintaining normal train operation and safety, in order to lay a foundation for developing vibration mitigation strategies and optimizing functional layout. The results found that the train-induced vibrations are strongest at track level, but decrease as they move vertically and horizontally. Vibrations from passing trains are most noticeable within a single floor slab and beams, with minimal transmission at the base of columns

Determination of kinematic and dynamic characteristics of a reversible vibratory conveyor with an electromagnetic drive

    Get PDF
The paper considers the design parameters that must be provided during the practical implementation of small-sized reversible vibratory conveyors with an electromagnetic drive. The proposed conveyor is developed on the basis of a classical two-mass oscillatory system. Two oscillating masses are connected by symmetrically assembled round-shaped rods. In order to avoid angular (torsional) oscillations of the vibratory conveyor, the geometrical centers of mass and stiffness of the spring system are aligned at the same point. The analysis of kinematic characteristics is performed by means of numerical solving of the system of nonlinear Lagrange-Maxwell differential equations. The influence of the phase shift angle between the electromagnetic excitation of horizontal and vertical oscillations on the trajectories of the mass center of the conveying member is analyzed. The first two frequencies and forms of natural oscillations of the vibratory conveyor are determined for estimating its dynamic characteristics. The novelty of this study lies in the development of a new design of a vibratory conveyor with a controllable independent electromagnetic drive that provides the conveying reversibility and efficiency

Method of experimental determination of the effective area of a pneumatic spring of high-speed rolling stock

    Get PDF
The object of research is a pneumatic spring of high-speed rolling stock of the railway. The method of experimental static testing of a pneumatic spring of high-speed rolling stock is presented. Based on experimental tests, the “force-strain” dependences of a pneumatic spring are obtained when the pressure gauge in the pneumatic spring changes from 2.5 atm up to 5.0 atm. Using a thermodynamic model, a quadratic equation is found to determine the effective area of a pneumatic spring. It is established that when the pressure gauge in the pneumatic spring changes from 2.5 atm up to 5.0 atm the effective area of the pneumatic spring varies from 0.231 m2 to 0.306 m2. The scientific novelty lies in the fact that for the first time, on the basis of static experiments, the change in the effective area of the pneumatic spring of high-speed rolling stock depending on the value of the gauge pressure in the spring was established. This will make it possible to determine the forces acting on the pneumatic spring in different operating conditions, ensuring the required level of safety of rolling stock
