    Potential of CCS at SC Achema

    Achema is a leading producer of nitrogen fertilizers and chemical products in Lithuania and the Baltic states. First construction works of the factory date back to 1962, however officially the company was founded on February 9, 1965 after the first tons of synthetic ammonia were produced in a newly launched ammonia unit. Carbon capture and sequestration has been considered as suitable measure of decarbonization during middle term – till year 2030. There is developed technology and logistic chains for on shore and offshore projects. The geographical location of companies plays crucial role because of logistics. SC “Achema” yearly emits more than 2 million tons of CO2. Our advantage is in having 200-300 kilo T of pure CO2 suitable to liquify and transport. Disadvantage of this topic in Lithuania is political attitude and big distances till real wells at North Sea. The deep check of all aspects necessary to estimate real potential of CCS in Lithuania. The company aspires for significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and is the winner of ‘Most Environment Friendly Process' nomination for greenhouse gas emission (NO) mitigation in the nitric acid manufacturing process. Company aspires for sustainable and safe production of fertilizers and has also has also developed capabilities to liquify and transport CO2 over long distances. In this conference Achema’s capabilities to liquify 200-300 kilo T of pure CO2 will be highlighted. Potential challenges related to long distance transfer and political challenges will be also be highlighted

    Experimental study of the lap motion trajectory of vibratory finishing machine

    Vibratory equipment is widely used for performing various finishing processes, machining and forcing of different parts and materials. Numerous researchers and technologists pay specific attention to the possibilities of implementing vibration-driven machinery for conducting the lapping and polishing operations on flat surfaces. The present paper is dedicated to studying the laps kinematic parameters of the vibratory finishing machine actuated by six electromagnets. The paper’s scientific novelty consists in the experimental verification of the previously modelled and simulated circular trajectories of the laps under different operational conditions. The methodology of research contains two basic stages: changing the excitation frequency at the constant traction force and changing the traction force at the constant excitation frequency. The improved 3D-design of the vibratory finishing machine was developed in the SolidWorks software. The experimental prototype was implemented in practice, and full-scale tests were carried out using the WitMotion sensors and software. Based on the obtained experimental data, the trajectories of the machine’s laps were constructed and analyzed in the MathCad software. The research results substantiate the possibilities of providing circular oscillations of the laps at different operational conditions. The results can be used by technologists and engineers while choosing the appropriate design and control parameters for similar vibratory equipment intended for lapping and polishing of flat surfaces

    Recycling technology of old cement concrete pavement in highways

    Through the practice of a highway pavement overhaul project, the feasibility of the old concrete pavement recycling scheme in terms of technology, economy and sustainable development is analyzed. The dynamic characteristics of concrete pavement were tested. The results show that crushing the old concrete panels into recycled aggregates and then re-use them not only eliminates the negative impact on the ecological environment caused by the land occupation of waste aggregates and needs to be disposed of, but also promotes the recycling of engineering waste and reduces the project cost. The pavement paved with recycled cement concrete can basically achieve the same dynamic performance as the pavement paved with conventional concrete

    Multi-axis vibration test technology of satellite based on vector-fixture’s design and applications

    Aiming at the problems that the three-direction uniaxial sequential vibration test cannot effectively simulate the real launch environment of the satellite, and the high cost of the multi-axis shaker and the limitation of engineering application, the multi-axis vibration test scheme based on vector-fixture is proposed. Taking the vibration magnitude of uniaxial vibration test on the satellite mounting surface as equivalent reference, the appropriate vector direction is determined to carry out vector-fixture design. By analyzing the multi-axial vibration test data of the real structure of a satellite, it can be seen that: The “satellite-fixture” mounting surface can reach the set vibration magnitude at low frequencies, and undertest occurs at high frequency due to structural resonance and other factors; By optimizing the control strategy, the degree of over-test and under-test in the three directions can be balanced. According to the mission characteristics and development cycle of micro-nano satellites, this paper provides an efficient vibration test scheme

The approach must be individualized for each patient according to each needing. Dr Wilma Alexandre Simões created a network of appliances, with no similarity with other appliances created by other authors. Her appliances respect rigid scientific fundamentals and provide for the clinician special tools for solving different types of occlusopathies. Here we present some rules, developed, and scientifically supported by the authors, in order to optimize the use of one of Simões Network called SN2

    The vertical problems of the stomatognathic system that alter the overbite, either by increasing in the deep bite (DB) or decreasing in the anterior open bite (AOB), are among the great challenges of the dentofacial corrections in the treatment and the retention and stability protocols. In this paper the state of art of DB treatment with Jaw Functional Orthopedics (JFO) will be discussed. JFO has a unique diagnostic tool for changes in vertical growth of the face, the Articular Compass, developed by Simões. Individuals with hypodivergence and DB are, usually, difficult to treat and more difficult to stabilize the obtained results. Since 1950-decade Planas advocate that the Equiplan – a metal accessory used in functional orthopedic appliances (FOA) is efficient in deep bite treatment by levelling the occlusal plane. Promising results are found with a P = 0,00, but in aweak evidence study design based on the scientific evidence pyramid. Much of the discussion of incisor intrusion or molar extrusion to treat DB seems to be solved with the use of Equiplan, but it still has no scientific evidence, only clinical evidence. In conclusion Randomized Clinical Trials are needed to investigate the efficiency and Modus Operandi of JFO to treat DB

    Salival biomarkers in inflamatory oro-cranio-cervical inflamatory alterations

    During the COVID 19 pandemic, the general population suffered from high degrees of stress, the consequence of which was an increase in myofascial pain syndrome. This inflammatory ailment which affects soft tissues causes pain, muscular rigidity, and modifies posture due to hyperactivity. A state of muscular ischemia leads to structural and chemical changes, and to variations in saliva’s electrical conductivity. The objective of this research was to measure the changes in pH and electrical conductivity of saliva samples, and to use these as biomarkers during therapeutical Maxillary Functional Orthopedics (Planas’ Simple Indirect Tracks and Simões Network 20). All the subjects that took part in the study evidenced changes in the beforementioned biomarkers, as well as clinical improvement of their symptoms

    A study on the acoustic characteristics of the sound-absorbing structure in single-column UHV Shunt reactors

    Single-column UHV shunt reactors usually generate large noises with long wavelengths. For this reason, the noises along the substation boundaries may exceed the standards. We aimed at noise control of single-column UHV shunt reactors in the present study. Based on the noise characteristics of single-column UHV shunt reactors, we employed an acoustic impedance test apparatus and studied the influences of different structural parameters on the acoustic performance of the compound impedance sound-absorbing structure. The results showed that the compound impedance sound-absorbing structure had a better sound-absorbing performance at low frequencies if a microperforated plate was introduced with basalt cotton as the filler. Besides, as the surface density, thickness, size of the dorsal cavity, and size of the intermediate cavity increased, the sound absorption coefficient at low frequencies increased. After the surface density increased to a certain level, the increase rate of the sound-absorbing performance dropped suddenly. Moreover, the intermediate cavity achieved a lesser enhancement of sound-absorbing performance at low frequencies than the dorsal cavity

    Optimization of damping pad distribution on body-in-white car structure

    Structure-born noise is one of the most important contributors to the interior noise in a vehicle cabin. This can be effectively reduced by placing damping pads with special material properties along the chassis and on the large, radiating panels. This paper proposes a new methodology for the optimization of placing these pads as a part of a full vehicle acoustic simulation in Actran Virtual SEA. With this new strategy, it was possible to reduce the among of damping pads on a real car structure by 33 % while keeping the same acoustic performance. This was validated by investigating the mean velocity of the floor panel in two load cases and compared to the original damping pad layout to the optimized one

    Effect of material characteristics of explosive on formation of collinear explosively formed projectile from warhead with double layer liners

    In order to obtain the effect of material characteristics of explosive on the formation of collinear explosively formed projectile (EFP)from warhead with dosuble liners, the LS-DYNA simulation software was used to simulate and analyze the forming process of collinear EFP from warhead with five explosive materials including pe4booster, PETN, TNT, C4 and B explosives. The results indicate that with the increase of density, detonation velocity, and detonation pressure, the velocity and the length diameter ratio of the front EFP and rear EFP increase with different laws. With the increase of explosive material density, the velocity and the length diameter ratio of EFPs increase gradually, but the increasing rate decreases gradually. As the detonation velocity increases, the velocity of EFPs increase gradually, but the increasing rate decreases gradually. The length diameter ratio of EFPs decreases first and then increases gradually, showing an "s"-shaped change law. With the increase of explosive detonation pressure, the velocity of EFPs increase gradually, but the increasing rate decrease gradually. The length diameter ratio of the front EFP shows a parabolic growth law with the increase of detonation pressure, and the length diameter ratio of the rear EFP shows an "s"-shaped change law with the detonation pressure
