The current study is based on a systematic literature review on sustainable human resource management (HRM). The concept of sustainable human resource management aims to achieve organizational sustainability through the involvement of employees in such initiatives. Hence, it aligns with the agenda of triple bottom line approach whereby organizations simultaneously strive for the betterment of people, profit and the planet. A parallel concept of green human resource management focuses only on the organizational efforts of environmental sustainability. This study elaborates SHRM research that has been published in the last 23 years (2001-2023) and makes a logical comparison of sustainable HRM research across various parts of the world. Moreover, the study highlights the strategic use of SHRM in the modern-day competitive business world. Overall, 148 research studies on sustainable HRM were analyzed using a systematic literature review with a time period from the year 2001 to 2023. With major developments over time, SHRM now plays a critical role for strategic positioning of companies seeking competitive advantage. China, India, Malaysia, and Brazil are some of those developing countries where SHRM research and practice have grown substantially in the recent years. In addition, this systematic literature review identified different linkages in the available literature on SHRM in Asia and rest of the world. This in-depth systematic literature review is the very first systematic comparison of Asian SHRM research with that of other continents of the world. It also highlights a number of interesting areas for further research

The purpose of this research is to explore the effects of organizational conflict on organizational performance, with a particular emphasis on the mediating functions of emotional intelligence (EI), cultural intelligence (CQ), as well as moderating effects caused by conflict management styles. Additionally, it compares the results obtained from two structural equation models (SEM): a traditional SEM and a higher order SEM. Data were collected from 250 employees through convenience sampling in various organizational settings using survey questionnaire, assessing organizational conflict, EI, CQ, conflict management styles, and performance measures. Structural equation modelling techniques were employed to analyses the relationships between these variables. Two models were constructed: a traditional SEM and a higher order SEM, with the latter incorporating latent higher order constructs of EI and CQ. Between organizational conflict and performance, strong adverse links are discovered through initial analyses between organizational conflict and performance. The outcome of SEM 1 reveals that conflict supervision means can influence the affiliation between organizational conflict, and performance. Mediation analysis indicated that EI and CQ partially mediated this relationship. Further investigation in SEM 2 aims to scrutinize the curbing impact of conflict management styles on these relationships and their collective impact on performance outcomes. Comparative analysis between the two SEMs highlighted the superiority of the higher order SEM in capturing the complexity of the relationships among variables. This paper adds to the literature by offering insights into the mechanisms through which EI, CQ, and conflict management styles influence the outcome of organizational conflict on organizational performance. Moreover, the comparison between traditional and higher order SEM provides methodological advancements, enhancing the understanding of these relationships in organizational research

In this study, we investigate the dynamics of financial performance on credit risk management in Islamic banks. It focuses on the ripple effect and the dynamics involved. Islamic banks (IBs) recognize deposits and provide financing for both financing and utilization purposes. This research analyzed five (5) primary Islamic banks in Pakistan. It investigated the influence of credit risk management on Islamic banks\u27 financial performance. To conduct an analysis, we examined Islamic banks\u27 annual reports over five years (2019-2023). We focused on five primary data points at the first level of analysis. Each Islamic bank is a Deposit Funds Bank (DFB) that trades publicly on the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSE). This study employed return on assets (ROA) as the metric for assessing financial performance, while non-performing financing (NPF) and assumed financial risk (AFR) restrictions provisions were used as indicators for credit risk management. The outcomes of the long-term co-integration analysis suggest that AFR has a strong and statistically significant effect on ROA in Pakistan. Additionally, NPF has a negative and statistically significant impact on ROE in Pakistan. The results indicate that credit risk has a significant impact on Islamic banks\u27 ability to secure funds. The investigation indicates that Islamic banks conduct comprehensive credit risk assessments prior to helping in order to assure positive credit risk outcomes, protect contributors\u27 equity, mitigate challenges encountered by Islamic banks, and enhance their financial performance. Full text link
Environmental Performance has surfaced as a pressing concern, captivating the researcher\u27s interest and sparking an expansion of empirical studies in the field. This study primarily focuses on the ecological footprint (EF) as a measure of environmental performance. This study evaluates the relationship among financial liberalization, urbanization, ecological footprints, and institutional quality. The data of the study covers 160 nations worldwide from 2001 to 2021 and is used to inform policy recommendations. By applying the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM), the results show that financial liberalization and institutional quality both increase the ecological footprints. In contrast, the deterioration of environmental performance is decreased by urbanization. Unexpectedly, green growth has a favorable and noteworthy effect on ecological footprints, indicating that although it promotes the economic growth of the country, however, it can unintentionally result in more environmental pressures.  The study gives policymakers important insight that helps them balance environmental and financial goals in pursuing long-term sustainability

The study followed Professionalism Theory as the foundation, which provides a robust framework for analysing the cultivation of objectivity among internal auditors, particularly within the public sector. The study followed mixed research approach, using 260 purposely selected participants. Questionnaires, telephone interviews, and focus group discussions were used as data collection instruments. A triangulation of descriptive statistics and thematic analysis was applied to report the findings. The study found that sectional heads of the department are not cooperating with the internal audit department, there is a lack refresher training on objectivity aspects, there is a lack internal auditors rotating resulting in them being familiar with working on the same client, this often becomes a problem as friendship relationships are forged, which makes it difficult for internal auditors to remain objective.  Furthermore, the study\u27s insights offer practical implications for improving internal auditors’ objectivity within provincial governance departments, thereby   facilitating better governance and operational efficiency
