Hermeneutyka intuicji matematycznej
In this article, we propose a hermeneutic analysis and approach to mathematical intuition, briefly highlighting differences from strictly phenomenological approaches (Husserl, Ingarden). We analyse various ways in which mathematical intuition manifests itself, including the use of intuitive concepts—which are informal yet active in the creation of mathematical knowledge—and background knowledge. Furthermore, we contrast intuitive actions with those strictly determined by the rules of formalised theories, and we point to the use of intuitive models. Mathematicians operate within a horizon of implicit and unspoken assumptions that form a hermeneutic horizon, even when they attempt to codify mathematical theories in a strictly formalised manner, and hermeneutics methodically reconstructs this background knowledge. An analysis of historical case studies reveals that such horizontal implicit components of mathematical knowledge are always present in the development of mathematics. They usually take the form of ontological and structural presuppositions that influence the shape of the formalisation employed
Splot i liminalność. Pojęcie splotu w koncepcji systemu kościelnego Tomasza Polaka w kontekście hiperliminalnej współczesności
The article reconstructs and critically reinterprets Tomasz Polak’s concept of „nexus”, proposed to describe the church system as a “social machine.” Nexus is treated as a mechanism that couples project, phantasm, and the symbolic order, thereby stabilising a paradoxical linkage of freedom and domination. Set against the anthropology of liminality (van Gennep, Turner) and accounts of modern “hyperliminality,” the analysis shows that this mechanism is not unique to the Church but a variant of broader institutional techniques for sustaining a “state of exception” (Agamben) and processing desire (Benjamin). The current crisis of the church system stems less from putative “unreformability” than from competition with flexible secular liminal structures – above all capitalism – which more effectively exploit the logic of permanent normative suspension
The Temporality and Self-Reflection: Phenomenological and Psychoanalytic Inquiry
This article invites readers to consider specific issues in the study of consciousness that arise at the intersection of phenomenology and psychoanalysis. Although these disciplines are inherently contradictory, the article proposes expanding their scope with the help of ontological and logical concepts related to temporality and self-reflection. To this end, it presents an alternative hypothesis of the genesis of time, alongside a corresponding model of its pathological emergence in consciousness. This leads to a thought experiment designed to answer the question of what form of self-awareness would arise in conditions of alternative temporality, and what the prerequisites for moral action would be. Using Melville as an example, it also considers the consequences of such incorrect hybrid self-reflection. The article reinterprets well-known phenomenological and psychoanalytic concepts to present a hypothesis about the complex and paradoxical transcendental preconditions of thinking, existence and self-reflection
„Media performance art”. Strategie artystycznego zarządzania mediami na przykładzie parateatru Jerzego Grotowskiego
Jerzy Grotowski (1933–1999), an internationally renowned theater director, was one of the first Polish artists to pursue a conscious, original, long-term media policy, still waiting to be studied in detail. The main thesis put forward and initially proven in the article is based on the recognition that the main aim of this policy was not to create and transmit a specific image of the artist or relay information about him, but to establish a stage on which his experimental art could exist in a shape that it did not assume in the artistic praxis. A striking example of Grotowski’s media strategies, and one representative of its general characteristics, are his actions following the discontinuation of his theater work, announced in December 1970, along with the initial phase of a new stage of his exploration—paratheater. Through the methodological framework of performance studies, this study depicts the efforts undertaken by Grotowski at the time as a process of establishing a new field of artistic endeavor. Grotowski’s media performances, which are a unique example of artistic media management, allow to recognize a discrete, performative role that media play in the context of contemporary art—serving as its stage.Jerzy Grotowski (1933–1999), reżyser teatralny o międzynarodowej sławie, należał do pierwszych polskich artystów prowadzących świadomą i długofalową politykę medialną w oryginalnej formie, wciąż czekającą na szczegółowe opracowanie.
Opera w dobie transformacji cyfrowej
This article offers an exploration of the development of opera from the mid-1970s to the present, including operas that utilized contemporary technology. The author posits that this period, measured by the success of such musical masterpieces as Philip Glass’s trilogy of portrait operas or John Adams’s opera Nixon in China, can be described as an opera renaissance at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries. Many of the works composed in the last fifty years have entered the repertoires of leading opera houses, surprising contemporary audiences with new, original musical and visual concepts, exploring new content, and challenging traditional approaches to the genre. Wiele ze skomponowanych w ostatnim pięćdziesięcioleciu dzieł weszło do repertuaru czołowych teatrów operowych, zadziwiając współczesne audytoria nowymi, oryginalnymi koncepcjami muzyczno-wizualnymi, eksplorując nowe treści i stawiając wyzwania tradycyjnym ujęciom gatunku
Demonizacja wroga w bułgarskiej powieści historycznej i pamiętnikarskiej lat 1944–1989
Bulgarian authors of literary depictions of armed and military confrontations taking place over the centuries between one`s own and the alien/enemy (from the Middle Ages until the events of the first half of the 1940s) often, succumbing to ideological pressure, involuntarily or consciously contributed to perpetuating the policies created by the authorities. An appropriate, meaning negative, characterisation of the enemy/aggressor helped to place contemporary political decisions in the historical context in order to justify them, and also made it easier to clearly identify the scapegoats responsible for the failures. The authors who described in historical and memoiristic prose the events that took place in Bulgaria in the first half of the 1940s additionally reinforced the centrally created political and propaganda myth of collective opposition to the clearly negatively characterised state authorities, whose representatives were an extremely important antagonistic component of the new, socialist identity discourse. Autorzy prozy historycznej i pamiętnikarskiej opisujący wydarzenia, które miały miejsce w Bułgarii w pierwszej połowie lat czterdziestych XX wieku, dodatkowo wzmacniali centralnie tworzony polityczno-propagandowy mit zbiorowego sprzeciwu wobec jednoznacznie negatywnie charakteryzowanej władzy państwowej, której przedstawiciele byli niezwykle ważną częścią opozycyjnego elementu nowego socjalistycznego dyskursu tożsamości
Rosyjska poezja rockowa wobec wojny na przykładzie twórczości Jurija Szewczuka
The aim of this article is to analyse the depiction of war and related motifs in selected songs by Yuri Shevchuk, featured in his latest album Волки в тире [Wolves at the Firing Range]. The most important research methods employed are structural-semiotic and intertextual analysis, used to interpret the verbal layer of the texts. The theoretical and methodological framework also incorporates useful tools developed by Russian and Polish scientists specialising in rock studies. According to Shevchuk, war is an anti-humanistic phenomenon, associated with barbarism, degradation, worship of the cult of death, and, at the level of mythopoetics, with the apocalypse and hell. The portrayal of war contains various motifs, such as homeland, state power, weapons, rebellion, space, road, love, and creativity. The multidimensional portrayal of both war and the lyrical subject is achieved through intertextuality and references to Shevchuk’s earlier songs.Celem artykułu jest zbadanie obrazu wojny i towarzyszących jej motywów w wybranych utworach Jurija Szewczuka pochodzących z płyty Волки в тире. Najważniejsze metody użyte podczas interpretacji słownej warstwy tekstów to strukturalno-semiotyczna i intertekstualna. W twórczości Szewczuka wojna to zjawisko nieludzkie, kojarzone z dzikością, upadkiem, kultywowaniem śmierci, a na płaszczyźnie mitopoetyckiej — z apokalipsą i piekłem. Na jej obraz składa się wiele motywów, wśród których warto wymienić: motyw ojczyzny, władzy, broni, buntu, przestrzeni, drogi, ucieczki, miłości, twórczości. Portret zarówno wojny, jak i podmiotu lirycznego staje się wielowymiarowy dzięki odniesieniom Szewczuka do obcych i własnych utworów
„Rat — nesreća je to”. Doświadczenie i reprezentacja wojny w (anty)wojennych opowiadaniach Josipa Mlakicia „Ponoćno sivo”
The aim of the literary analysis of the short stories of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian writer Josip Mlakić is to show the trauma of war, which is still present in the collective and individual memory, caused by the armed conflict in the former Yugoslavia. The ways in which war is represented are also the subject of inquiry. In addition to the dominant styles, namely affirmative and frenetic (Maria Janion), Mlakić chooses the perspective of the weak protagonist of history (Mirna Velčić) as well as individual war experiences and micro-histories (Ewa Domańska). The writer captured the image of war on the Balkan Peninsula in short stories in which he describes the realities of war (death, fear, the suffering of people and animals, the destruction of landscapes) using literary fragments. As a result, Mlakić’s prose, which depicts the everyday reality and absurdity of war, is an example of anti-war literature, a study of trauma, situating the phenomenon of war in the realms not only of politics and history but also as an individual experience and a private, intimate narrative. War appears as a cyclical and recurrent element in the history of humanity.„Rat – nesreća je to”. Iskustvo i reprezentacija rata u (anti)ratnim pričama Josipa Mlakića Ponoćno sivo
Ratnu sliku Balkana 90 –ih autor je sažeo u obliku kratkih priča, u kojima fragmentarizirano pripovijeda o ratnoj zbilji (smrt, strah, patnja ljudi i životinja, uništavanje krajolika).
Ključne riječi: rat u Jugoslaviji, (anti)ratno pismo, topos rata, posthumanizam, mikropovijestiCelem analizy literaturoznawczej opowiadań bośniacko-hercegowińskiego pisarza Josipa Mlakicia jest ukazanie nadal obecnej w pamięci zbiorowej i indywidualnej traumy wojennej, spowodowanej konfliktem zbrojnym w byłej Jugosławii. Oprócz dominujących stylów: afirmatywnego i frenetycznego (Maria Janion) Mlakić wybiera perspektywę słabego bohatera historii (Mirna Velčić) i jednostkowe doświadczenia wojenne, mikrohistorie (Ewa Domańska).
Ewolucja konstytucji Republiki Białoruś w latach 1994–2022 w kontekście paradygmatów konstytucjonalizmu autorytarnego i konstytucjonalizmu populistycznego
The paper traces the evolution of the contents of the constitution of the Republic of Belarus from its adoption in 1994 till the last amendments introduced in 2022. The theoretical basis of the paper is formed by the paradigms of authoritarian constitutionalism and populist constitutionalism, both of which are quite recent and as such, have not gained much traction in Polish Academia. Both allow us to capture the specificity of the background and main features of the evolution of constitutional law in non-democratic countries.
The basis of the study is the initial text of the constitution of the Republic of Belarus from 1994, consecutively amended in 1996, crucial for the further shift of the political system towards authoritarianism, and the latest version of the same document from 2022, that can be described as constitution of the mature authoritarianism, already preparing for the future transfer of power.
The paper asserts that both of the aforementioned paradigms can be successfully used to analyse the constitutional reforms of the contemporary Republic of Belarus. The 1996 reform established the supremacy of the President, who dominates over all branches of the government, since he controls not only the executive power but also the judiciary and the legislature. It disrupted one of the principles of a democratic state—the principle of separation of powers and the checks and balances mechanism of governance. The most recent amendments of 2022 feature many elements of populist constitutionalism. The reform implemented additional social guarantees, enforced conservative values, and introduced individual obligations regarding the historical memory of World War II. It also modified relations among the main branches of power. Generally speaking, presidential powers were limited, certain legal measures were introduced to protect him after the end of his tenure, and a new body was created, officially as a mean to implement the principle of people’s rule—the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly. It serves as a mechanism of a direct expression of society’s interests, but also, to a certain extent, as a super-parliament, due to its capacities to repeal legal acts of other state authorities.
In summary, consecutive constitutional reforms in the Republic of Belarus between 1994 and 2022 were aimed at reconfiguring the model of governance towards one that formally still adheres to the values of a democracy, including the rule of law and pluralism. Constitutional amendments gave these institutions new contents and expanded them, mainly to limit political pluralism while officially striving for direct communication between the government and society. Therefore, normative changes did not directly result in the emergence and consolidation of a non-democratic regime but rather enabled the political system to evolve in such a direction on its own
